instructions.
Eachtypedesignationofthemotorsdescribedhereislistedandexplainedinthe"Technicaldata"section
(seeTechnicaldata/Note).
1.2 Informationontheseoperatinginstructions
Theseoperatinginstructionsenablesafeandefficienthandlingofthemotor.Theyareintegralpartofthe
motorandmustbeavailabletostaffalways.Staffmustreadtheoperatinginstructionsofthemotor
thoroughlyandunderstandthembeforecommencinganywork.Compliancewithallsafetyinstructionsand
guidelinesstatedintheoperatinginstructionsconstitutethebasicrequirementforsafeworkingpractices.
Furthermore,localaccidentpreventionregulationsandgeneralsafetydirectivesapplytothescopeof

2.1 General
Thissectionprovidesimportantinstructionsonallsafetyaspectsforoptimumprotectionofstaffaswellas
safeandsmoothoperation.
Failuretoobservethesafetyandhandlinginstructionslistedintheseoperatinginstructionscanleadto
considerabledanger.
Alwayspayattentiontoallwarningsandinstructionsspecified.
2.2 Intendeduse
Themotorservesonlyasdriveelementformachines(accordingtoMachineDirective2006/42/EC)andmay
onlybeputintooperationasanintegratedpartofthemachine.
Thetechnicallimitsofthemotormustbecompliedwith.Forthispurpose,payattentiontothetypeplate
onthemotorandthetechnicaldataintheappendixoftheseoperatinginstructions(seeAppendix).
Anyuseotherthanpreviouslystatedisconsideredasimproperuse.

Donotusethemotorifelectricallines,plugsorinsulatinghousingsaredamaged.Performchecks
accordingtothedeadlinesforrecurringchecks/inspectionsspecifiedintheoperatinginstructions.
Workonelectricalequipmentmayonlybecarriedoutbyaqualifiedelectricianortrainedstaffunder
thesupervisionandinstructionofaqualifiedelectricianinaccordancewiththerulesofelectrical
engineering.
Defectsdetectedinelectricalsystems/equipmentmustberepairedimmediately.Ifthecondition
representsanacutedanger,thedefectivesystem,componentetc.maynotbeused.
Machinepartsundergoinginspection,maintenanceorrepairworkmustbedisconnectedfromthe
voltageasprescribed.Checkthatthosepartsaredisconnectedfromthevoltagesupplyandinsulatelive
adjacentpartsbeforegroundingandshort‐circuitingthem!
Ifworkonlivepartsisnecessary,asecondpersonisrequiredtoswitchoffpoweratthemainswitchin

2.9 Staffrequirements
2.9.1 Qualification
Inappropriatehandlingofthemachinecanresultinconsiderabledamagetopersonsorproperty.
Allactivitiesshallonlybecarriedoutbyqualifiedstaff.
Thefollowingqualificationsarestatedintheseoperatinginstructionsfordifferentfieldsofactivities.
Instructedpersons
weregiveninstructionbytheoperatoronhis/herassignedtasksandpossibledangersresultingfrom
improperconduct.
Specialiststaff
areconsideredspecialists,who,duetotheirprofessionaltraining,knowledgeandexperienceaswellas
acknowledgementofrelevantregulations,canjudgetheassignedwork,andcanrecogniseandavoid
possiblerisks.
Electricalspecialist
areemployeeswho,duetotheirprofessionaltraining,knowledgeandexperienceaswellas
acknowledgementofrelevantregulations,canjudgetheassignedwork,andcanrecogniseandavoid
possiblerisks.
Thequalifiedelectricianwastrainedforthespecificworksitetowhichhe/sheisdeployed,andis
familiarwiththerelevantstandardsandregulations.
Onlypermitmembersofstaffifitcanbeexpectedthattheywillcarryouttheirassignedtasksreliably.
Thosestaffmemberswhoseresponsivenessisaffectedbysubstancessuchasdrugs,alcoholormedication
shallnotbepermitted.
Stafftobetrained,taught,instructedorinvolvedinageneraltrainingprogrammayonlyworkunderthe
constantsupervisionofanexperiencedperson!

2.9.2 Unauthorisedpersons
Unauthorisedpersonswhodonotfulfiltherequirementsarenotfamiliarwiththedangersatthework

Incaseofdoubt,approachthepersonsandinstructthemtoleavetheworkarea.

Wheninstalling,themotormustbeintegratedintotheoverallsafetyconceptofthemachine.
2.12 Signsonthemotor
Overtime,stickersandsignscanbecomeillegibleduetodirtorothercauses.
Allsafety,warningandoperatinginstructionsmustbemaintainedinlegiblecondition.
Damagedsignsorstickersmustbereplacedimmediately.
Thefollowingsymbolsandsignsareonthemotor.Theseapplytotheareaimmediatelysurroundingwhere
theyareattached.
Grounding
Agroundconnectionislocatedattheindicatedplace.
2.13 Modificationprohibited
Anymodifications,additionalextensionsandchangestothemotor,inparticular,theremovalor
manipulationofthesafetydevicesisforbidden.
Noliabilityorwarrantycanbeassumedbythemanufacturerintheeventofunauthorisedmodificationsto
themotor.Thisalsoappliestoweldingwork.
Theelectromagneticbehaviourofthemotorcanbeimpairedbyextensionsormodificationsofanytype.
Forthisreason,donotmodifyormakechangestothemotorwithoutwrittenpermissionfromthe
manufacturer.
2.14 Spareparts
Incorrectordefectivereplacementpartscanleadtoinjury,damage,malfunctionortotalbreakdown.
