bythegrilleprovidedforthispurposeonthe
undersideofyourset.
Take
outthelinecord
from
its
case
on
bottom
ofyourTK14.Yourtape
recorder
left
thefactorysetto220V/50cps.A.C.Beforeyouplugin,
check
thatyourlocalelectricitysupplyis
within
thisrange.Ifthemains
voltageselectorofyourTK14mustbere-set,simpleinstructionsforthis
are
containedonpage23.
Switching
onandoff
To
switchtherecorderon,
turn
theknurledwheelofthemainsswifch@
slightlybackward.Theon-positionisindicatedbytheilluminatedmagie
level
indicator©.Cuttingoff
from
lineismadebysettingthemark
ontheknurledwheelbesidemarkM onthetopdeck.
Threading
thetape
Holdthe
full
spoolinyourhandsothatthelooseend(approx.20cm)ofthe
tapehangsdownonthe
left
sideofthespool.Now
drop
thespool
onto
theleft-handspindle,and
turn
ita
little
until
itfaits
into
place,
and
isheldsecurelybytheridgesonthespindle.Nowfittheempty
spool
onto
theright-handspindleinthe
same
way.
The
tapehasnowtobe
passed
through
theSoundchannelandfastened
totheemptyspool.
This
isverysimple.Makesurethatthetapeistnot
twisted,
drop
it
into
theSoundchannel,andsliptheend
into
theslot
intheemptyspool,leaving1 cmfree.
Now
turn
theemptyspoolcounterclockwise(keepingyourfingeronthe
endofthetape)
until
ailthecoloredleadertapeisfullywoundround
thehubofthespool.
There's
a shinyanda printedsidetothetape-
always
checkthatthe
shiny
sideisfacingthe
front
oftheTK14andtheprintedsidethe
heads.
Whenrecording,the
resp.
trackofthetapeisautomatically
erased
justbeforethenewrecordingismade.
