e) Pull off the knobs and unscrew the 6 nuts of the controller units
(potenciometers) (4).
f) Release the four latches (5), (6), (7), (8) and remove the chassis from the
housing.
Alignment Instructions
All the voltages must be adjusted with the aid of sufficiently accurate
instrument (e.g. GRUNDIG DM 44), and the given voltages should be kept
within the stated tolerances.
I. Adjustment of the Operating Points
No signal, AM button pressed, range switch on KW1 U8 = 9V:
1. Adjust the emitter current of T 502 with R 504 so that the voltage drop
across R506 is 1.3V
2. The control voltage at PIN 9 of IC 401 is set to 0.15V with the
resistance controller R 409. An analogue measuring device (e.g.
GRUNDIG UV 5 A) should be used.
3. With the BFO/SSB section switched ON, adjust the trimmer
resistor R 703 so that the voltage drop across R704 is 4V.
4. UB = 7.2V:
At a voltage of 7.2 V, set the display instrument to the battery check
position with the R 658 controller so that the deflection of the
instrument is on the Dryfit Accu-mark.
II. Adjusting the Charging Voltage UL
With a mains supply of 220V AC and the receiver switched OFF, the
charging voltage UL is to be measured with an equivalent resistance
of 1 kohm and an electrolytic capacitor of 1000 uF (connect in
parallel to the charging contact and minus), the nominal value of
which should be between 9.05 and 9.35 V.
With a voltage of UL < 9.05 V, R 653 (connect separating point X)
must be connected, with a voltage of UL > 9.35 V, R 654 (connect
separating point Y) must be switched on.
III. Frequency Counter
Feed in 32.000MHz/80 mV to St V802 (3) and 2.460 MHz/50 mV to St
V 802 (1) and with C0811 set the display to 30.000 MHz.

Remarks: The order of the oscillator adjustment is arbitrary.
The ferrite antenna is installed in the order LW, then MW over frame
men (90 cm) matched. Sensitivity values at LW and MW in
mV, at KW in uV.
With the KW pre-circuit adjustment, the signal generarators over 20 pF
at the base of the telescopic antenna. Vibration voltage at the 2nd
oscillator (V1): 290 mV.
3. Adjustment of Field Strenght Meter on
AM
With the AM adjustment completed, adjust the reading on the meter
at f= 1.7 MHz (K 1) and an input voltage of 30 uV to “1” with R 514 and
at an input of 100mV "9" with R 512. The setting must be repeated at
least once.
4. Control of the 2nd oscillator in connection
with the counter
Feed in 6.200 MHz to K2 with approx.. 100uV at the base of the
telescopic antenna, ground St V 801 (4) and set the receiver to 7.740
kHz with the tuning knob. At this frequency there must be maximum
deflection on reader, otherwise adjust with C 459 or L 405. After
removing the ground bridge, the counter must show 6.200 MHz
(tolerance +2 kHz).
5. Adjustment of the SSB Section
Oscillator Alignment
Set BFO/SSB switch to off, "middle" position. On K2 at 7.2 MHz, with
a modulation frequency of around 400 Hz, adjust the receiver very
accuratelly for maximum reading either on the output meter at low
level or on the field-strength mater at higher level.
Set trimmer C 711 (36) optically to center position. Set BFO/SSB
switch "down".
With the trimmer C 709 (38)not connected in circuit and the core of
the SSB-Variometer 19415-010.00 (37) turned to the right side,
After locking the core, adjust accuratelly with C 711 (36). Then
connect on trimmer C 709 (3...15 pF) (SSB switch "up"), turn fine tune
to the left. Stop and adjust for zero beat again with C 709 (38). The
frequency deviation of the SSB variometer is approx. ± 1 kHz.
Because of the ceramic oscillator and the ceramic filter 19203-
023.97, the SSB section may be aligned only when fitted in the
complete chassis. The oscillating voltage at the emitted of transistor
T 703 is approximately 60-70mV.
V. FM Matching
Unless otherwise specified, it occurs in the mono switch position,
with AFC and muting off and with a correspondingly low HF level in
each case in order to prevent limitation and thereby avoid incorrect
adjustment.
1. Setting the tuning voltages
At MP 302, on slider S of the tuning resistor R 349 (19701-037.03)
with the FM button pressed, and with the FM pointer at the right
end of the scale, adjust the voltage with R 341 (10Kohm) to 30 V
±0.1 V. And with the FM pointer at left side of the scale, set R 348
to 2.1 V ± 10 mV.
Then press a station button (e.g. FM 1) and set a voltage of 2.1 V ±
10 mV with R 346 at point A MP 301 of the tuning controller 19703-
024.01.

Note: Connect test transmitter with VHF signal (20 dB cable 60/150ohm, 22.5 kHz hub, 1 kHz module.) and adjust to the respective upper
maximum.
b) Adjustment of the display instrument at
FM
After performing the HF adjustment, set the pointer
deflection of the display instrument to "9" at 88 MHz and
an input voltage of > 1 mV with R 371.
c) Muting
Muting switch pressed. Feed in signal of 5 uV at the
antenna input at 88 MHz. Open R 366 until the signal can
be heard. Then slowly turn back the same controller until
the still tuning (muting) switches.
d) Checking the discriminator zero crossing
and the frequency display
After the HF adjustment has been carried out, with an
input voltage U9 >100 uV and f= 88.000 MHz, 88.00 MHz
must be set on the counter. At the same time measure
the voltage with a DC voltmeter on the MP 305 (IC 302
PIN 5). This value and the frequency display must not
change after switching on the AFC (observe the switch-
on delay). Otherwise, correct with the phase shift circuit
(F3).
4. Stereo Matching
Switch in "Stereo" position.
a) 19 kHz setting
Mute on, no signal. Connect counter to MP 306 (IC 303
pin 10) and set 19 kHz ± 1 kHz with R 377.
b) Stereo RF level
Test transmitter modulated at 19 kHz, 6 kHz deviation
at 88 MHz with 10 uV at antenna socket. Tune the
device precisely and slowly turn the R 384 from the
right stop until the stereo display lights up.
c) 57 kHz lock
FM station at 88MHz and one input signal
Modulate > 1 mV with 57 kHz (3.75 kHz deviation),
connect millivoltmeter to MP 304 (R 374) and set L 308
to minimum.
