GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DESIGN AND FUNCTION
GÜRDAL RÖMORK SANAYİ VE TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ
INTRODUCTION
“CAS” Rigid series trailer is a metal structure with an open load bearing surface. The trailer is equipped with a
mechanical / hydraulic / pneumatic service brake and a parking brake that actuates the friction components of the
rear axle service brake, which is manually operated via a mechanism.
The trailer has a complete signal and warning system (an electrical system and reflective lights). The trailer is also
suitable for transportation on public roads.
The trailer was produced in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
4.1 CHASSIS
The chassis that forms the trailer consists of the following subassemblies: the subframe, the drawbar, the wheel and
suspension components are the main groups. Bottom frame and drawbar are welded structures made of steel sheet
and profiles.
Trailer wheels and components consist of the following groups:
Axles (front and rear)
• Tires
• Brakes
The axles are made of box profiles with wheel hubs on both ends. It is equipped with drum brakes operated by
mechanical opening cams. Single and / or double tire wheels are available.
The trailer suspension consists of steel semi-elliptical leaf springs attached to the turntable frame and the subframe
with studs and bridges. Suspension springs are attached to the chassis with bolts.
4.2 LOADING AREA
The trailer loading space comprises the following:
• The top frame (box frame) that is set on the bottom frame (chassis frame) in articulated seats secured by pins which
serve as pivots during tilting (tipping) of the top frame (load body/box).
• The side walls/boards and their top sections are singular components. Each component features a separate set of locks
for closing and opening of individual wall and top sections independently of each other and in any order. These design
solutions increase functionality and facilitate operation of the trailer.
• The wall and top section locks are secured against accidental release.
4.3 HYDRAULIC TIPPING MECHANIZM
The hydraulic damper lifting mechanism is designed for automatic unloading of the trailer box by tilting the trailer load
to the back or to the side-ways. The hydraulic damper tipping system is fed with pressurized oil from the tractor hydraulic
system.
The hydraulic damper tipping system includes: coupling valve plug, hydraulic pipes, a single-acting hydraulic actuator,
connection and fixing components with a shut-off valve.
The diagram below shows the hydraulic tilting scheme of the damper load lifting system. Raising and lowering the
loading box is controlled by a joystick from the tractor hydraulic system.
