INSTALLATION
1. Put communication wire through the hole in the back cover
as shown.
2.Mountthebackcoverinthedesiredlocation,makingsure
not to pinch the communication wire. Then connect the com-
municationwiretoCON1portofthewiredcontroller.Replace
the cover onto the unit to complete the installation.

There are three methods to connect the wired controller to
the indoor units.

A.Onewiredcontrollercontrolsoneindoorunit;theindoor
unit connects with the wired controller through a 3 conductor
shielded cable.
C. Two wired controllers control one indoor unit. The wired
controller that connects with the indoor unit is called the
mastercontroller,theotheriscalledtheslavecontroller.The
master wired controller and the indoor unit (as well as the
master controller and the slave controller) are all connected
through 3 conductor shielded cables.

NOTE: This function requires the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned OFF and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
PressandholdtheMODEkeyfor5seconds,thenumberof
the mode currently being used will display in the upper left
corner of the screen. (Default is 0) Press the pq keys to
changetoonethedierentmodesavailable:0,1,2,or3.
PressSETtoconrmthesetting.

Note: This function requires the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned OFF and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
PressandholdtheTIMEkeyfor10seconds.Theunitnumber
will display in the upper left corner of the screen. The error
code/historicalerrorcodewilldisplayintheupperrightcorner
of the screen. Press pq keys to select the unit number to
viewitserrorcodes.UnderErrorCodedisplayscreen,press
andholdtheTIMEkeyfor5secondstoclearthefaultcodesof
all the units.
PresstheMODE,FAN,TIME,SET,orON/OFFkeytoexitthe
function.Ifnokeyispressedin10seconds,thefunction
will also exit. If there are no current errors or historical error
codes,“--”willbedisplayed.
The wired controller will
momentarily display
all display icons upon
powering up or when
resetting the system.
During the initialization
process,thecontroller
willdisplay,ina
repeating order:
88:88 (upper left
corner),88:88(upper

(main temperature).
This cycle keeps repeating until initialization is complete.
ThegreenON/OFFLEDwillalsoashcontinuouslyuntil
initialization is complete.
If the wired controller is unable to communicate with the
indoorunitPCBafterpoweringon,initializationwillterminate
in 4 minutes. The communication malfunction can be checked
using the malfunction inquiry function. (See Malfunction
Display)

1.Theclockisdisplayedin24Hourtime
A.ItcannotbesetforAM/PM.
B.TheclockfunctioncannotbesetwhenSLEEP
function or a timer function is currently set.
Whenthesystemisrstpoweredup,afterinitialization,the
clock will default to 12:00. Within 10 seconds of the clock be-
ingdisplayed,thetimecanbeset.Theclockiconandminutes
portionofthetimedisplaywillbeashing.Pressthepq keys
toadjusttheminutes.(Pressingandholdingthepq keys will
acceleratethetimeadjustment.)Withtheminutesset,press
theTIMEkey.Theclockiconandhoursportionofthetime
displaywillnowbeginashing.Pressthepqkeystoadjust
thehours.PresstheSETkeytoconrmthesetting.
To set the clock after initial power up or reset time has ex-
pired,pressandholdtheTIMEkeyfor5seconds.Theclock
iconandminutesportionofthetimedisplaywillbeginash-
ing. Press the pqkeystoadjusttheminutes.Withthemin-
utesset,presstheTIMEkey.Theclockiconandhoursportion
ofthetimedisplaywillnowbeginashing.Pressthepq keys
toadjustthehours.PresstheSETkeytoconrmthesetting.
If neither pqkeyispressedwithin10seconds,orifthe
MODE,FAN,orON/OFFkeysarepressedpriortopressingthe
SETkey,thesettingfunctioniscanceledandthetimereverts
back to the previous setting.
Withthesystemturnedo,taptheTIMEkeytoactivatethe
screen backlight (if not already lit).
1.PressandholdtheTIMEandqkeys for 5 seconds to set the
backlight“on”time.Thesettimewillbedisplayedintheupper
right corner of the screen.
2. Press the pqkeystoadjustthetime.Settimesavailable
are:0seconds(backlightalwayson),15seconds,30seconds,
and 60 seconds. Initial default time is 15 seconds.
3.Withtimeselectionmade,presstheSETkeytoconrmthe
setting.
If neither pqkeyispressedwithin10seconds,orifthe
MODE,FAN,orON/OFFkeysarepressedpriortopressingthe
SETkey,thesettingfunctioniscanceledandrevertsbackto
the previous setting.
ToswitchfromCelsiustoFahrenheit,selectthemodeyou
wishtooperate(COOL,HEAT,DRY,INTELLIGENT/AUTO).
Press and hold the pkey to reach 30 °C then continue holding
the pkey for 15 seconds until the display reads 86 °F. Use the
pqkeystoadjusttodesiredtemperature.
ToswitchfromFahrenheittoCelsius,selectthemodeyou
wishtooperate(COOL,HEAT,DRY,INTELLIGENT/AUTO).
Press and hold the qkey to reach 60 °F then continue holding
the qkey for 15 seconds until the display reads 16 °C. Use the
pqkeystoadjusttodesiredtemperature.

NOTE: The display backlight must be illumi-
nated before proceeding. To turn the back-
light on, press any key (MODE, FAN, pq,
TIME, or SET) located at the bottom of the
display, or press the ON/OFF key located at
the top of the display.
Timer ON
PresstheTIMERkeyonce,theONtimericonwillappearinthe
upperrightcornerofthescreen.TheONiconandhourpo-
sitionareashing.Pressthepq keys to set the hour. Press
theTIMERkeyagain,theONiconandminutespositionare
nowashing.Pressthepq keys to set the minutes. Press the
SETkeytoconrmthesetting.
Timer OFF
PresstheTIMERkey3times,theOFFtimericonwillappearin
theupperrightcornerofthescreen.TheOFFiconandhour
positionareashing.Pressthepq keys to set the hour.
PresstheTIMERkeyagain,theOFFiconandminutesposition
arenowashing.Pressthepq keys to set the minutes. Press
theSETkeytoconrmthesetting.
Timer ON/OFF
PresstheTIMERkey5times,theON/OFFtimericonwillap-
pearintheupperrightcornerofthescreen.TheONiconand
hourpositionareashing.Pressthepq keys to set the hour.
PresstheTIMERkeyagain,theONiconandminutesposition
arenowashing.Pressthepq keys to set the minutes. Press
theTIMERkeyagain,theOFFiconandhourpositionarenow
ashing.Pressthepqkeystosetthehour.PresstheTIMER
keyagain,theOFFiconandminutespositionarenowashing.
Press the pqkeystosettheminutes.PresstheSETkeyto
conrmthesetting.Basedonthetimesset,theindoorunit
willdeterminewhicheventhappensrst(ON-OFForOFF-
ON)andadjuststhearrowdirectionaccordingly.
If neither pqkeyispressedwithin10seconds,orifthe
MODE,FAN,orON/OFFkeysarepressedpriortopressingthe
SETkey,thesettingfunctioniscanceledandrevertsbackto
the previous setting.
Timer Cancel
PresstheTIMEkeyupto9timestocyclethroughthetimer
settings.Whenthetimericondisappears,thetimerfunctionis
canceled.
Note:Anactivetimerfunctionwillremaindisplayedonscreen
until the set time has been reached and command completed.

NOTE:Theenergysavingdefaultparametersarelistedbelow:
74°F Lowest temperature limit of Cooling and Dry mode.
78°FHighesttemperaturelimitofHeatingmode.
74°F–86°FTemperatureadjustmentrangeinCoolingandDry
mode.
60°F–78°FTemperatureadjustmentrangeinHeatingmode.
ECO
For Cooling
UnderCoolingmode,setthetemperatureto86°F.Pressand
holdtheFANkeyfor5seconds.TheCoolingECOparame-
ter(ashing)willbedisplayedintheupperleftcornerofthe
screen. Default temperature is 74°F. Press the pq keys to
adjustthelowesttargetcoolingtemperature.PresstheSET
keytoconrmthesettingandexitsetup.
For Heating
UnderHeatingmode,setthetemperatureto60°F.Pressand
holdtheFANkeyfor5seconds.TheHeatingECOparameter
(ashing)willbedisplayedintheupperrightcornerofthe
screen. Default temperature is 78°F. Press the pq keys to
adjustthehighesttargetheatingtemperature.PresstheSET
keytoconrmthesettingandexitsetup.
PressandholdtheSETandFANkeysfor5seconds.Thecur-
rent static pressure will be displayed in the upper right corner
ofthescreenandthe“StaticPressure”iconwillbegintoash.
PresstheTIMEkeytoshifttheunitno.displayedintheupper
left corner of the screen. The unit numbers are from 00-15.
Press the pqkeystochangethestaticpressuregrade,
shown in the upper right corner of the screen.
Numberrangeis01-04.PresstheSETkeytoconrmthe
setting.PresstheMODE,FAN,orON/OFFkeytoexitthe
function.Ifnokeyispressedin10seconds,thefunctionwill
also exit.

OPERATION
NOTE: This function requires the screen backlight to be
illuminated. The ON/OFF key LED can be either On or O.
PressandholdtheSETkeyfor10seconds.Thewiredcontrol-
ler address and communication address between the indoor
and outdoor unit are displayed in the upper left corner of the
screen. The central address is displayed in the upper right
corner of the screen.
Press the pq keys to select the indoor unit number: 0 - 3F.
PresstheSETkeytoconrmthesetting.PresstheMODE,
FAN,orON/OFFkeytoexitthefunction.Ifnokeyispressedin
10seconds,thefunctionwillalsoexit.
NOTE: This function requires the screen backlight to be
illuminated. The ON/OFF key LED can be either On or O.
PressandholdtheSETkeyfor5seconds.Theunitnumber
will be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. The
data type and current data will be displayed in the upper right
corner of the screen.
Press the pq keys to scroll through the data types. (See
chartfordatatype/currentdata)
PresstheMODE,FAN,SET,orON/OFFkeytoexitthefunc-
tion.Ifnokeyispressedin10seconds,thefunctionwillalso
exit.
NOTE: This function requires the screen back-
light to be illuminated. The ON/OFF key LED can
be either On or O.
Child Lock can be used to prevent unintended
operation of the control unit.
1.PressSETandtheqkeys together for 5 seconds to
activate the Child Lock function. The child lock icon will be
displayedontheleftsideofthescreen.Allnormalfunctionsof
the keys will be disabled.
2.TounlocktheChildLockfunction,presstheSETkeyand
the qarrow together for 5 seconds. The child lock icon will
disappearfromthescreen.Allnormalfunctionsofthekeys
will be restored.
Note: This function requires the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned OFF and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
PressandholdtheFANkeysfor5seconds,thecurrent
temperature compensation value is displayed in the upper
right corner of the screen. (The default value is 00). Press the
pq keys to change the temperature compensation value.
Theadjustmentrangeis-07°Fto+07°F.PresstheSETkeyto
conrmthesetting.PresstheMODE,FAN,TIME,orON/OFF
keytoexitthefunction.Ifnokeyispressedin10seconds,the
function will also exit.
NOTE:Thecompensationvalueisusedforambienttempera-
ture and is valid only for the wired controller sensor.
The swing function deter-
mines air circulation.

PresstheON/OFFkeytoexitforcedcoolingmode.
Forced Heating
Whenthesystemisturnedoinheatingmode,pressandhold
theON/OFFkeyfor10seconds.Thesystemwillenterforced
heating.Thetemperaturedisplaywilldisplayaashing“HH”.
PresstheON/OFFkeytoexitforcedheatingmode.
NOTE:Wheninforcedcoolingorheating,allkeysaredisabled
exceptfortheON/OFFkey.

Sleepiconwillbeashing)PresstheSETkeytocancelthe
function.
NOTE: This function requires the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned ON and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
Sleep Function
TheFilterCleaningiconwillstartashingwhen
the indoor unit has reached 500 hours of operat-
ing time.
Aftercleaningorreplacingthelter,presstheSETkeytoclear
the icon and reset the operating time.
NOTE: This function requires the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned ON and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
Filter Cleaning

Heat Reclaim Ventilation
Note: These functions require the ON/OFF key LED to be
turned OFF and the screen backlight to be illuminated.
Auto Restart
Setting DIP switch SW1-4 located on the PCB of the wired
controltothe“on”positionwilldisabletheautorestartfunc-
tion.Whentheswitchisinthe“o”position,auto-restart
isenabled(defaultposition).Whentheswitchisinthe“on”
position,auto-restartisdisabled.
Informationretainedinauto-restartare:Mode,FanSpeed,
TemperatureSetting,SwingState,andHeatReclaimVentila-
tion function.
Communication Error of Wired Controller
If there is no communication between the wired controller and
indoorunitfor4minutes,whencheckingerrorcodes,“07”will
be displayed in the upper right corner of the display.
