3: CUSHION
You can fill the cushion cover with your choice of
soft fillings. We recommend simply filling with
2 standard-size pillows. The size of pillows you use will
dictate the level of comfort desired. We recommend
keeping the cushion between 50-75% full.
NOTE: Do not overfill the cushion.
2: ZIPPER
Locate the zipper to the cushion opening (inside rear
edge). The zipper slider has no pull-tab. This has been
done for safety – to ensure there is no sharp object that
your child may come into contact with while inside the
Hangpod. To operate the zipper, simply insert a
paperclip through the slider’s eye, and use it as the
zipper tab. Open the zipper and pull out the cushion
cover.
IMPORTANT: Remember to remove the paperclip
once you have filled and inserted the cushion.
1: UNPACK
Pull out your Hangpod from its compact drawstring bag.
You can reuse this handy little bag in many ways.
We’ve had several suggestions from fans... Use it to
store toy collections, as a lunchbox bag, gym bag, etc.
NOTE: While your Hangpod may look crushed on
unpacking, once hung up, the creases will naturally
iron out within a few week of use.
6: CEILING FIXTURE
Ensure that you attach the Hangpod onto a solid ceiling
fixture that can bear the load. For the most common
types of ceilings this will involve using a stud finder to
locate the nearest ceiling joist to where you want to
suspend your Hangpod, and screwing in a closed hook
onto which the Hangpod rope is attached via an
appropriate carabiner and/or swivelling carabiner
attachment.
5: HANG
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use the Hangpod with a stand
of any sort. It is specifically designed to be freely
suspended from an appropriate ceiling fixture.
IMPORTANT: Suspend the Hangpod where it will be
free of walls orotherobjects that may pose a danger
to your child. Ideally use the Hangpod over a carpeted
floor to reduce potential injury from falls.
4: EPS
You may also fill with EPS (Polystyrene balls), cotton
or wool batting, or another filling of your choice.
Increase or decrease the amount of filling that you
place into the base to make the cushion softer or firmer
until you achieve your child’s desired level of comfort.
Again, ensure you do not overfill the cushion.

12: OUTDOORS
When attached with an appropriate carabiner,
the versatile Hangpod can be quickly moved about
from room to room, and from indoors to outdoors in
dry weather. The Hangpod may even be attached to
a secure branch outside (if your child is able to enjoy it
without endangering themselves).
11: DO NOT TWIST
Do not twist your Hangpod on its axis. Doing so may
reduce its lifespan. Fabrics and ropes are subject to
wear and tear, and may become thin or brittle with time.
IMPORTANT: Any elements that show signs of wear
should be replaced immediately.
10: HEIGHT
IMPORTANT: The Hangpod should be installed at a
maximum height of 20cmoff the ground, and minimum
height of 10cm at its lowest point (with your child inside).
NOTE: Somefurther height adjustment may be required
once the Hangpod is installed and your child has got
inside, so ensure you observe again once in use and
recheckthisheightoff the ground. Check this safe
height from time to time to ensure continued safety
compliance.

9: KNOT
Loop the rope provided through the Hangpod hoop,
adjust to the desired height and then knot the rope.
Check and recheck your knot to make sure it does
not give, is completely tight and can support your
child’s weight. You may use a Heaving Line Knot or a
Figure 8 Follow Through Knot.
NOTE: www.animatedknots.com provides good
reference for these knots and more, or you can simply
use google to research the most appropriate knot type.
8: HOOP
Ensure that the Hangpod hoop section only comes
into contact with the rope supplied, NOT metal or other
abrasive material or fixtures, as this will greatly reduce
the life of your Hangpod.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that all excess rope is securely
tied up and away from reach of children. If you are
certain about where you’ve hung your Hangpod and do
not need the excess rope, trim and heat-seal the end of
the rope to prevent fraying.
7: HANGPOD ROPE
Your Hangpod comes supplied with a purpose designed
3 metre length of rope. The special metal hoop fits into
your hook and/or carabiner combination with minimal
rope wear.
REQUIRED ACCESSORIES
The Hangpod comes supplied with a special purposely
designed rope fitting, however depending on your install
location you may need a carabiner and/or appropriate
ceiling hook. We recommend getting a locking carabiner
and using a fully closed hook, so that the carabiner has
no possibility of jumping or slipping off. If available, it is
also advisable to get a swivelling carabiner attachment
to prevent twisting of the Hangpod hoop and rope.
IMPORTANT: Check your mounting options with a
qualified professional if unsure.
IMPORTANT: Suspend the Hangpod where it will be

IMPORTANT: This product is not suitable for children
below the age of three years. Babies should never
be placed in the Hangpod as the cushion poses
suffocation risk and there is a great danger of falling.
IMPORTANT: Like with most other natural fabrics,
damp or wet conditions will damage your Hangpod.
Keep it dry. If it does get wet, remove the cushion and
hang-dry separately.
IMPORTANT: Check for wear and tear regularly –
especially around the top hoop and rope. The Hangpod
is made out of 100% cotton natural fibre, as such it has
a limited lifespan.
IMPORTANT: Exposure to excessively heavy loads,
direct sunlight, damp weather conditions, cleaning,
etcetera, will shorten the life of the product. Monitor
the carrying capacity of your Hangpod from time to
time. Remove and dispose if it is no longer safe.
IMPORTANT: The Hangpod is not a swing. Never leave
young children unattended in the Hangpod. Make sure
that the product is not misused in any manner that may
pose a danger. Non-compliance poses an acute risk of
injury for which no liability will be assumed.
IMPORTANT: The Hangpod is rated to a maximum
occupant weight of 50kg. Make sure that all hardware
and accessories you use comply with, or go beyond
this weight and load bearing requirement.
