Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING:When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Store idle equipment. When not in use, the Sound Amplifier with Monocular must be stored in
a dry location to inhibit damage from moisture and salt air.
2. Check for damaged parts. Before using any appliance, any part that appears damaged
should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended
function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its
operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
3. Servicing. Servicing should only be done by a qualified service technician.
4. This is not a toy! Do not allow children to play with this product.
5. Supervise children while using the Sound Amplifier and Monocular.
6. Use only Batteries of the type recommended-size “AAA” and 9V.
7. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use different types of batteries; do not use
rechargeable and alkaline batteries.
8. Remove batteries if the Sound Amplifier and Monocular is not used for a long period of
time.

9. Never look at the sun through the lens. This will result in serious damage to your eyes.
10. Do not use or assemble the Sound Amplifier with Monocular if under the influence of
alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgement or
reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not assemble or use the
Sound Amplifier with Monocular.
11. Caution. The Sound Amplifier and Moncular contains small parts that can be easily swallowed
by children.
12. Dispose of old batteries properly. Make certain to follow all local laws and restrictions
for proper disposal.

Unpacking
When unpacking your Sound Amplifier with Monocular, check to make sure the following parts are
included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR FREIGHTTOOLS
at 1-800-444-3353.
Assembly/ Operation
Your Sound Amplifier with Monocular will require some light assembly prior to use. It is important
that you read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you assemble and
use the Sound Amplifier with Monocular . Before assembling and operating the Sound Amplifier
with Monocular be sure that you have all parts described in the Parts List and Assembly Diagram
located on the last pages of this manual.
1. Attach the Dish (1) to the Body (2). Align the holes in the Dish (1) with the two top tubes on
the Body (2) as in Figure 1. Slide the tubes on the Body (2) into the holes in the Dish (1).
Set the groove on the Dish (1) onto the microphone-see Figure 1.
2. Insert the Torch Light (3) into the top tube on the Body (2).
3. Plug the cord of the Head Phone (4) into the receptacle at the bottom of the hand grip.

Inserting Batteries
The Sound Amplifier has two places which hold a battery for operation. The amplifier uses a 9V
battery (not included) which is inserted into the handle of the Body (2). The Torch Light uses two
“AAA” batteries (not included) which are installed into theTorch Light (3). See the Battery Installation
instructions below.
Amplifier Battery
1. Remove the screw on the door of the Battery Compartment (5), located on the handle, with
a screwdriver. Attach the connector to the top of the 9V battery making certain that it fits
securely over the poles.
2. Insert the connected battery back into the Battery Compartment (5), replace the door and
screw it back into place. Torch Light Battery
1. Unscrew and remove cap at the end of theTorch Light. This is the side which is also the
“ON/OFF” Switch for the Torch Light (3).
2. Insert two “AAA” batteries into the Torch Light (3) body making certain that the positive and
negative poles face the correct direction as indicated on the Torch Light (3).
3. Replace and screw on the cap of the Torch Light.
Using the Monocular
Hold the Monocular up to one eye. Turn the Sound Amplifier with Monocular toward the object you
desire to see. With one hand, turn the focus wheel located on the eyepiece. Turn the focus wheel
clockwise or counterclockwise until the object you are viewing is in focus.
Using the Amplifier
Press down on the Trigger (6) with your finger to begin picking up sounds. Point the Sound
Amplifier toward the desired sound. Remove your finger from the Trigger (6) to stop the Amplifier
from picking up sound. Torch Light
Turn the cap at the end of the Torch Light (3) clockwise to turn the Torch Light (3) “ON”. To turn it
“OFF” turn the cap counterclockwise.
Maintenance
1. Never immerse the Sound Amplifier with Monocular in any fluid.
2. Remove dust or stains with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or special camera
cleaning fluids.
3. Clean the lenses in circular motions and with as little fluid as possible. Make certain that any
cleaning fluid used is approved for use on camera lenses.
4. Avoid using paper products such as paper towels to clean the lenses. These may scratch
and damage the lens.
