Averssement
Vérifier que la tension du réseau correspond bien à celle indiquée sur
l’appareil (courant alternaf seulement).
Compte-tenu de la diversité des normes en vigueur, si l’appareil est ulisé
dans un autre pays que celui de l’achat, le faire vérifier par une staon
service agréée.
Cet appareil a été conçu pour un usage domesque uniquement, toute
ulisaon professionnelle, non appropriée ou non conforme au mode
d’emploi, n’engage ni la responsabilité, ni la garane du constructeur.
Ne jamais laisser l’appareil fonconner sans surveillance.
Ne pas laisser l’appareil à la portée des enfants.
Uliser un plan de travail stable et à l’abri des projecons d’eau.
Ne pas placer l’appareil à proximité d’une source de chaleur.
Ne jamais tenter de faire fonconner le produit avec la cuve vide, ou sans
cuve.
Ne jamais rerer la cuve lorsque le produit est en fonconnement.
Ne jamais poser la cuve directement sur la flamme, ou une autre source
de chaleur.
La cuve et la plaque chauffante doivent être en contact direct. Tout objet
intercalé entre ces deux éléments risquerait de provoquer une panne.
Ne mere ni liquide, ni aliments dans le produit lorsque la cuve n’est pas
mise en place.
Respecter les niveaux conseillés par les recees.

Lors de la mise en service d’un appareil électrique chauffant, il se produit
des températures élevées, qui peuvent occasionner des brûlures. Ne pas
toucher les pares métalliques apparentes.
Au cours de la cuisson,le produit émet de la chaleur et de la vapeur. Ne
pas approcher votre main ou votre tête. Ne pas placer de torchon humide
sur le couvercle extérieur.
Ne pas plonger le corps de l’appareil dans l’eau, ne pas verser d’eau à
l’intérieur.
Ne pas laisser pendre le cordon.
Toujours brancher l’appareil sur une prise reliée à la terre.
Ne pas débrancher l’appareil en rant sur le cordon.
Débrancher l’appareil s’il présente des anomalies de fonconnement
après l’ulisaon ou avant chaque neoyage ou entreen.
S’il arrivait que certaines pares du produit s’enflamment, ne jamais
tenter de les éteindre avec de l’eau. Etouffer les flammes avec un linge
humide.
Ne jamais uliser l’appareil, si celui-ci ou son cordon connecteur amovible
est défectueux, ou si I’appareil est tombé et présente des détérioraons
visibles ou des anomalies de fonconnement. Dans ces cas,I’appareil doit
être envoyé à la staon-service agréée la plus proche de votre domicile.
Si le câble d’alimentaon est endommagé,il doit être remplacé par le
fabricant, son service après-vente ou une personne de qualificaon
similaire afin d’éviter tout danger.
Cet appareil ne doit pas être ulisé par des personnes (y compris les
enfants) dont les capacités physiques,sensorielles ou mentales sont
réduites, ou des personnes dénuées d’expérience ou de connaissance,
sauf si elles ont pu bénéficier, par l’intermédiaire d’une personne
responsable de leur sécurité, d’une surveillance ou d’instrucon

préalables concernant l’ulisaon de l’appareil.
Cet appareil n’est pas desné à être mis en fonconnement au moyen
d'une minuterie extérieure ou par un système de commande à distance
séparé.
Il convient de surveiller les enfants pour s’assurer qu’ils ne jouent pas
avec l’appareil.
AVANT LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION
Lire le mode d’emploi et suivre aenvement les instrucons
d’ulisaon.
Déballer l’appareil
Sorr l’appareil de l’emballage et déballez tous les accessoires.
Enlever le couvercle.
Sorr tous les documents imprimés.
Rerer la cuve amovible.
Neoyer le couvercle et la cuve avec une éponge et un liquide vaisselle.
Essuyez l’extérieur de l’appareil avec un linge humide.
Sécher avec soin.
UTILISATION DE L’APPAREIL
Cuissondu riz
Avant de commencer la cuisson, lisez les indicaons données sur votre paquet
de riz, par ex. laver le riz au préalable ou le faire gonfler.
1. Placez le récipient à riz dans l’appareil
2. Faire tourner légèrement la cuve dans les deux sens, de manière à assurer
un bon contact entre le fond de la cuve et la plaque chauffante.
Les appareils ne sont pas desnés à être mis en fonconnement au moyen
d'une minuterie extérieure ou par un système de commande à distance
séparé.

3. Choisissez la quanté de riz désirée, entre 3 et 10 CUPs,grâce au verre
mesureur et verser cee quanté dans le récipient.
4. Remplissez le récipient d’eau jusqu’à la graduaon correspondante
5. Poser le couvercle sur l’appareil
6. Vérifiez que l’interrupteur se trouve la posion WARM (garder au chaud)
puis enfoncer le cordon connecteur amovible sur l’appareil à fond puis
brancher.
Ne pas mere l’appareil sous tension tant que les étapes précédentes
n’ont pas été achevées.
7. La lampe témoin WARM s’allume.
8. Appuyer sur l’interrupteur. Le témoin lumineux WARM s’éteint et COOK
s’allume.
9. Lorsque toute l’eau s’estévaporée, l’appareil passe automaquementsur
la posion WARM (garder au chaud) etarrête ainsi la cuisson. Le témoin
lumineux COOK s’éteint etWARM s’allume.
Conseil : laissez le riz encore 5 minutes dans l’appareil avant de le sorr.
10.Arrêter maintenant l’appareil en débranchant le câble d’alimentaon
11. Enlever le couvercle. Aenon la vapeur qui s’échappe esttrès chaude.
12. Servir avec la cuillère et remere le couvercle en place.
Aenon : le récipient à riz estchaud. Pour la rerer, uliser des gants de
protecon.
Quelques conseils pour un meilleur résultat de la cuisson du riz :
Mesurez le riz et lavez-le à l’eau courante dans un récipient à part. Meez
ensuite le riz dans le bol avec la quanté d’eau correspondante. Assurez-vous
que le riz estbien répar sur toute la surface de la cuve afin de permere une
cuisson homogène.

En fin de cuisson, quand la foncon «mainen au chaud» est déclenchée,
remuez le riz et laissez-le dans le Cuiseur Automaque encore quelques
minutes pour obtenir une cuisson parfaite.
IMPORTANT: ne pas uliser le récipient de cuisson pourlaver le riz carcela
risque d’endommagerla surface anadhésive ! Ne pas dépasser le niveau
maximum indiqué.
NETTOYAGE
Uliser de l’eau chaude, du détergent liquide et une éponge. Les poudres
à récurer et les éponges métalliques sont déconseillées.
Si les aliments sont collés au fond, laisser tremper la cuve quelques temps
avant de la laver.
Sécher la cuve avec soins.
Ne pas plonger le corps de l’appareil dans l’eau, ne pas verser d’eau à
l’intérieur.
Vous pouvez aussi neoyerla cuve etle couvercle au lave-vaisselle. Pour
la cuve, bien suivre les recommandaons suivantes :
Faire aenon lors de la mise en place de ne pas blesser le revêtement
intérieur avec les grilles du lave-vaisselle.
Après plusieurs passages au lave-vaisselle, pour rénover le revêtement
nous vous recommandons de passer un chiffon légèrement huilé sur
toute la surface intérieure de la cuve.
Bien remere la cuve en place dans le Cuiseur automaque.

This appliance is intended exclusively for the preparaon of cooked rice and is
not intended for commercial use.
Any other or addional use will be considered unintended use.

Danger because of electrical current
DANGER
Mortal danger because of electrical current!
Contact with live cables or parts poses mortal danger!
Observe the following safety prescripons to prevent danger caused by
electrical current:
Do not use the appliance when the power cord and/or plug are
damaged.
Have an authorized expert install a new connecng cable to
connue using the appliance.
Under no circumstances open the appliance’s housing. Touching the
live connecons and changing the electrical and mechanical
construcon can cause danger of electric shocks.
Danger of burns
WARNING:
Parts of the appliance can become very hot during operaon!
Observe the following safety instrucons so as not to burn yourself and/or

others:
Do not move the appliance while it is turned on.
Let the appliance cool before cleaning.
General safety prescripons
To safely use the appliance, please observe the following safety instrucons:
1. Check the appliance before operaon for visible damage to the housing,
the power cord and the plug. Do not use a damaged appliance.
2. Ensure that your mains voltage corresponds to the voltage noted on the
type plate.
3. The appliance can only be repaired by a recognized dealer. Inexpert
repairs can pose significant danger to the user.
4. Defecve parts can only be replaced with original replacement parts. Only
these parts are guaranteed to meet the safety requirements.
5. To prevent electric shock we advise you not to immerse electrical parts in
water or other liquids.
6. Persons with reduced physical, mental or sensory capabilies, who are not
able to operate the appliance safely, are only allowed to use the appliance
under the supervision of a responsible person or with instrucons given
by him or her.
7. Do not let children operate the appliance and do not let them play with
the appliance.
8. Pull the plug from the socket when the product is not in use or before
parts are taken out or put back in.
9. The power cord must always be pulled from the socket using the plug, not
by pulling the cord itself.
10. Do not carry the appliance using the power cord.

Further safety prescripons

3. Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or
where it could touch a heated oven.
4. When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all
sides for circulaon.
5. On surfaces where heat may cause a problem, an insulang mat is
recommended.
6. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, touch hot
surfaces or become knoed.
7. Do not use harsh abrasives, causc cleaners or oven cleaners when
cleaning this appliance.
8. Do not use outdoors.
Use and operaon
Descripon
This rice cooker provides a simple, trouble-free method for cooking perfectly
rice. The warm-funcon automacally keeps the rice warm, fluffy and ready to
serve for several hours. The large capacity of the rice cooker makes it possible
to prepare rice economically for a family, for a party and for a bulk cooking for
the freezer.
Instrucons for use
NOTE:
•Wash the bowl, the lid the measuring cup and spatula in a warm,
soapy water.
•Rinse and dry thoroughly.
9. The devices are not intended to be operated by an external mer or a remote
control system.

•Wipe the base with a clean, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
•Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners on any part of
the appliance.
•Never immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
•Before each use, make sure that the outside of the rice bowl is
clean and dry and that the heat sensor in the centre, on the
inside of the base, is clean, dry and cool.
•Handle the rice bowl carefully; scratching or denng the bowl
may result in unsasfactorily performance.
How to cook the rice
1. Measure rice and water and place evenly into the rice bowl. See Rice
cooking chart. Never put any liquid into the base.
2. Place the rice bowl into the base and make sure that the bowl is properly
sat unto the base. Close by placing the lid.
3. Plug cord into a 230V AC outlet. Depress the switch and the red light will
glow. The cook switch will not stay down unless the rice bowl is placed in
the right way: this is a safety feature of this rice cooker. Wait 20 minutes
for the rice to finish cooking.
4. When all the water has evaporated, the appliance automacally switches
to the WARM posion (keep warm) and thus stops the cooking. The COOK
light goes offand WARM COOK lights.
Tip: leave the rice for 5 minutes in the cooker before removing it.
5. Fluff the rice with the spatula.
6. Unplug the rice cooker before removing the lid and rice bowl from the
base.

7. If the rice is to be kept warm, leave the rice cooker plugged-in and
reposion the lid aer fluffing.
NOTE:
1. If using unwashed rice, a thin layer of starch may form at the boom of
the rice bowl: this is quite normal and can be mixed in with the rice when
fluffing as it does not affect the taste or texture.
2. There are different opinions about whether the rice should be washed
before cooking or not. Those in favour argue that this washes away the
starch content and ensures non-scky grains. Those against, feel valuable
soluble vitamins and minerals are lost. Drier, fluffier rice is obtained by
washing before cooking.
3. If other ingredients were added to the rice, the keep warm-cycle should
be on for less than one hour to avoid loss of flavour.

Cleaning and care
NOTE:
Clean the appliance aer each use.

1. Aer each usethe rice bowl, the lid, the measuring cup and the spatula
shouldbe washed in warm, soapy water. Do not useharshdetergents,
abrasive cleaners ormetal scouring pads. Rinse and dry carefully. If rice
has been cooked onto the boom ofthe bowl, fill the bowl with hot,
soapy water andlet stand forabout 10 minutes. Wipe thebasewith a
clean, dampcloth and dry.
2. To reduce the risk ofelectric shock only cook in the removable container.
If water shouldaccidentally enter the switch mechanism orspill onto the
heang plate, carefully unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Allow
to dry thoroughly before using the appliance again.
Storage
To store your appliance:
1. Switch off the appliance and unplug from thepower outlet.
2. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
3. Store onaflat, dry level surface.
Disposal
Discarded electric and electronic appliances oen sll contain valuable
materials. However, they also contain dangerous materials they needed to
work well and safely.
If theseappliances are mixed with regular domesc wastematerials orare not
properly handled, they can endanger human health andthe environment.
NOTE:

point in your areato have them recycled. You can contact your town hall, your
wastecolleconcompany orthe dealer where you bought the appliance for
informaon.

Disable the appliance before disposing of it. Ensure that you store your
discarded appliance out of the reach of children unl it is collected.

Deze handleiding hoort bij de UD080 (hierna “apparaat” genoemd) en
bevat belangrijke informae over het aanzeen, de veiligheid, het
bedoelde gebruik en het onderhoud van dit apparaat.
De handleiding dient aljd bij het apparaat bewaard worden. Het is
belangrijk dat iedereen die het apparaat bedient, herstelt en/of reinigt, de
handleiding leest en de instruces daarin opvolgt.

Gevaar door elektrische stroom
GEVAAR
Levensgevaar door elektrische stroom!
Bij contact met onder spanning staande kabels of onderdelen heerst
levensgevaar!
Neem de volgende veiligheidsvoorschrien in acht om gevaar door
elektrische stroom te voorkomen:
Gebruik het apparaat niet, wanneer de stroomkabel of stekker
beschadigd is.
Laat voor het verdere gebruik van het apparaat een nieuwe
aansluitkabel door een geautoriseerde deskundige installeren.

Open in geen geval de behuizing van het apparaat. Wanneer
onder spanning staande aansluingen aangeraakt worden en de
elektrische en mechanische opbouw gewijzigd wordt, heerst
gevaar door elektrische schokken.
Verbrandingsgevaar
WAARSCHUWING
Delen van het apparaat kunnen jdens de werking erg heet worden!
Neem de volgende veiligheidsinstruces in acht om uzelf en/of anderen
niet te verbranden:
Verplaats het apparaat niet terwijl het ingeschakeld is.
Laat het apparaat voor het reinigen voldoende aoelen.
Algemene veiligheidsvoorschrien
Neem voor een veilige omgang met het apparaat de volgende
veiligheidsinstruces in acht:
1. Controleer het apparaat vóór gebruik op van buiten zichtbare schade
aan de behuizing, de stroomkabel en de stekker. Gebruik een
beschadigd apparaat niet.
2. Verzeker uzelf er van dat uw netspanning overeen komt met de
vermelde spanning op het typeplaatje.
3. Het apparaat mag uitsluitend gerepareerd worden door een erkende
dealer. Ondeskundige reparaes kunnen tot aanzienlijk gevaar leiden
voor de gebruiker.
4. Defecte onderdelen mogen alleen door originele
vervangingsonderdelen worden vervangen. Alleen bij deze onderdelen
is gewaarborgd dat ze voldoen aan de veiligheidseisen.
5. Om een elektrische schok te voorkomen, adviseren wij u elektrische
onderdelen niet in water of andere vloeistoffen onder te dompelen.

6. Personen die vanwege lichamelijke, geestelijke of motorische
beperkingen niet in staat zijn om het apparaat veilig te bedienen
mogen het apparaat alleen onder toezicht of met instruces door een
verantwoordelijk persoon gebruiken.
7. Laat kinderen het apparaat niet bedienen en laat ze niet met het
apparaat spelen.
8. Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact als het product niet gebruikt wordt
of voordat er onderdelen afgehaald of teruggeplaatst worden.
9. De voedingskabel moet aljd aan de stekker uit het stopcontact
worden getrokken, niet aan de kabel.
10. Draag het apparaat niet aan de voedingskabel.
Belangrijke veiligheidsvoorschrien
1. Raak geen hete oppervlakken of onderdelen aan.
2. Gebruik het apparaat op een droge, vlakke ondergrond.
3. Zet het apparaat niet op of in de buurt van een gas- of elektrische
brander of oven.
4. Zorg voor voldoende circulaeruimte rondom het apparaat
5. Zorg ervoor dat de ondergrond hiebestendig is of gebruik een
isolerende mat.
6. Laat het snoer niet over randen van tafels of andere oppervlakken
hangen, zorg ervoor dat het niet in de knoop raakt en laat het niet in
contact komen met hete oppervlakken.
7. Gebruik geen bijtende schoonmaakmiddelen om het apparaat te
reinigen.
8. Gebruik het apparaat niet buitenshuis.
9. Voer geen enkele wijziging of reparae aan het apparaat uit. Bij
defecten aan het netsnoer of een ander deel van het apparaat, het
apparaat niet gebruiken maar naar een erkende technische dienst
brengen.
