 Stay alert – Watch what you are doing. Use common
sense.Do notoperate thisunit whenyou aretired,ill,
upset, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medi-
cation.
 Donotoperateinpoorlighting.
 Keepallpartsofyourbodyawayfromanymovingpart.
 Donotoperatepowertoolsinexplosiveatmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or
dust.Powertoolscreatesparkswhichmayignitethedust
orfumes.

Do not operate the equipment while barefoot or when

 Donotoverreach–Keepfirmfootingandbalance.Over-
reachingcanresultinlossofbalance.
Avoidaccidental starting– Be sure switch trigger is in
thelockedoroffpositionbeforeinsertingbatterypack.
Carrying tools with your finger on the switch trigger or
inserting the battery pack into a tool with the switch on
invitesaccidents.
 Donotusetoolifswitchtriggerdoesnotturnitonoroff.
Anytoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchtrigger
isdangerousandmustberepaired.
Disconnect edger – Disconnect battery pack from the
appliancebeforestoring,servicing,orchangingbladeor
whennotinuse.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreduce
theriskofstartingthetoolaccidentally.
Use only identical manufacturer’s replacement parts and
accessories.Useofanyotherpartsmaycreateahazard
orcauseproductdamage.
 CheckDamagedParts– Before further use of the appli-
ance, a guard or other part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly
andperformitsfunction.Checkforalignmentofmoving
parts,bindingofmovingparts,breakageofparts,mount-
ingandanyotherconditionthatmayeffectitsoperation.
Aguardorotherpartthatisdamagedshouldbeproperly
repairedorreplacedbyanauthorizedservicecenterun-
lessindicatedelsewhereinthismanual.
 Keephandsandfeetawayfromcuttingarea.
Make sure all guards, straps, deflectors and handles are
properly and securely attached. Keep guards in place
andinworkingorder.

Batteries can explode in the presence of a source of ig-
nition,suchasapilotlight.Toreducetheriskofserious
personal injury, never use any cordless productin the
presenceofopenflame.Anexplodedbatterycanpropel
debrisandchemicals.Ifexposed,flushwithwaterim-
mediately.
Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do not
use a battery pack or charger that has been dropped or
receivedasharpblow.Adamagedbatteryissubjectto
explosion.Properlydisposeofadroppedordamaged
batteryimmediately.
Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short the
battery with conducting materials such as rings, bracelets,
andkeys.The batteryorconductormayoverheatand
causeburns.
For best results, your battery tool should be charged in
a location where the temperature is more than 50°F but
lessthan100°F.Toreducetheriskofseriouspersonal
injury,donotstoreoutsideorinvehicles.
Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery
leakagemayoccur.Ifliquidcomesincontactwithyour
skin, wash immediately with soap and water, then neu-
tralizewithlemonjuiceorvinegar.Ifliquidgetsintoyour
eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes,
thenseekimmediatemedicalattention.Followingthisrule
willreducetheriskofseriouspersonalinjury.
Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or
excessivetemperature.Exposuretofireortemperature
above265°Fmaycauseexplosion.
Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the
battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature
rangespecifiedintheinstructions.Chargingimproperly
or at temperatures outside of the specified range may
damagethebatteryandincreasetheriskoffire.
 Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person
usingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.
This will ensure that the safety of the product is main-
tained.
Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the
battery pack (as applicable) except as indicated in the
instructionsforuseandcare.
Store idle appliances indoors –When not in use, edger
should be stored indoors in a dry, locked place out of the
reachofchildren.
 Keeptheairventscleanandfreeofdebristoavoidover-
heatingthemotor.Cleanaftereachuse.
Stop the unit and disconnect the power source when not
inuse.Carrytheunitwiththemotorstopped.
Don’t grasp the exposed cutting edges when picking up
orholdingtheappliance.
MaintainApplianceWithCare–Keepcuttingedgesharp
and clean for best performance and to reduce the risk
ofinjury.Followinstructionsforlubricatingandchanging
accessories.Inspectappliancecordperiodically,andif
damaged,haveitrepairedbyanauthorizedservicefa-
cility.Inspectextensioncordsperiodicallyandreplaceif
damaged.Keephandlesdry,clean,andfreefromoiland
grease.
 Storeoutofthereachofchildren.
 Donothangunitsothattheswitchtriggerisdepressed.
 Batterytoolsdonothavetobepluggedintoanelectrical
outlet;therefore,theyarealwaysinoperatingcondition.
Beawareofpossiblehazardswhennotusingyourbat-
terytoolorwhenchangingaccessories.Followingthis
rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious
personalinjury.
 Donotchargebatterytoolinrain,ordamporwetlocation.
Followingthisrulewillreducetheriskofelectricshock.
 Donotusebattery-operatedapplianceinrain.
 Removeordisconnectbatterybeforeservicing,cleaning

 Usethis edgerforedging alongsidewalks, driveways,
flowerbeds,andsimilarareas.Donotuseforanyother
purpose.
Bethoroughlyfamiliarwith the controls.Know howto
stoptheunitanddisengagethecontrolsquickly.
Donotusetheedgeronorneargraveledsurfaces.
 Makeyourselffamiliarwiththeareayouareedging.Be
awareofunevensidewalksandholesintheterrainaswell
asothersimilarhazardousconditions(example:wireor
wire rope which can break off and become a dangerous
projectile).Alwayspushtheedgerattachmentslowlyover
roughground.
 Donotattempttoremovecutmaterialnorholdmaterial
to be cut when the motor is running or when the cutting
bladeismoving.
 A coasting blade can cause injury while it continues to
spinafterthemotorisstoppedorthrottletriggerreleased.
Maintain proper control until the blade has completely
stoppedrotating.
Check blade nut for tightness before operating the
attachment.
 Improperassemblycancreateadangeroussituation.
 Neverstandorhaveanypartofyourbodyinlinewiththe
pathoftheedgerblade.
Iftheedgerstrikesanytypeofforeignobject:
 a) Stop the edger and remove the spark plug wire or
disconnectfromthepowersupply.
 b) Inspectfordamagetotheedgerattachment.
 c) Correctdamagebeforeusingtheedgerattachment.
Failuretodosocancauseseriousinjury.
 Alwaysstopmotorandremovethebatterybeforeattempt-
ingtoremoveanyobstructioncaughtorjammedinthe
blade,installingattachment,ormakinganyadjustments.
 Savetheseinstructions.Refertothemfrequentlyanduse
themtoinstructotherswhomayusethisproduct.Ifyou
loan someone this product, loan them these instructions

ATTACHING THE HANDLE ASSEMBLY
See Figure 2.
 Removethebatterypackifinstalled.
Locate and align the holes on the handle assembly with
thescrewindentionsontheedgerassembly.
 Insertthehandleassemblyintotheedgerassembly.
 Insertthetwoscrewsprovidedtoconnecttheshaftsas
shown.
NOTE:Becarefulnottobend,twistorpinchcables.
ATTACHING THE FRONT HANDLE
See Figure 3.
 Loosenthewingnutandremoveboltfromthehandle.
Install the handle on the rear handle pole in the area
indicatedbytheillustration.
 Adjusthandleupordown,ifnecessary,todesiredoperat-
ingposition.
 Reinstalltheboltandwingnut.Tightenwingnuttosecure.
ASSEMBLY
UNPACKING
Thisproductrequiresassembly.
 Carefullyremovetheproductandanyaccessoriesfrom
thebox.Makesurethatallitemslistedinthepackinglist
areincluded.
WARNING:
Do not use this product if any parts on the Packing
List are already assembled to your product when you
unpackit.Partsonthislistarenotassembledtothe
product by the manufacturer and require customer in-
stallation.Useofaproductthatmayhavebeenimprop-
erlyassembledcouldresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage
ordamageoccurredduringshipping.
 Donotdiscardthepackingmaterialuntilyouhavecare-
fullyinspectedandsatisfactorilyoperatedtheproduct.

mendedbythemanufacturerofthisproduct.Theuse
of attachments or accessories not recommended can

NOTICE:
Before each use, inspect the entire product for dam-
aged, missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts,
bolts,caps,etc.Tightensecurelyallfastenersandcaps
and do not operate this product until all missing or
damagedpartsarereplaced.Pleasecontactcustomer
serviceoraqualifiedservicecenterforassistance.
ADJUSTABLE HANDLE HEIGHT
See Figure 4.
The angle of the front handle can be adjusted to four set-
tings.
 Removethebatterypack.
 Rotatehandleadjustmentknobreleasepin.
 Selectacomfortablesettingfromthefouroptions.
Rotate handle adjustment back into place so the pin
securesthepositionselected.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK
See Figure 5.
WARNING:
Alwaysremovebatterypackfromyourtoolwhenyou
are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning,
orwhennotinuse.Removingbatterypackwillprevent
accidental starting that could cause serious personal
injury.
 Raisebatterycover.
 Insertthebatterypackintotheproductasshown.
 Closebatterycover.
WARNING:
Make sure the latch on the battery pack snaps in place
and the battery pack is fully seated and secure in the
powerheadbatteryportbeforebeginningoperation.
Failure to securely seat the battery pack could cause
the battery pack to fall out, resulting in serious personal
injury.
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK
See Figure 5.
 Raisebatterycover.
 Depressthelatchonthebatterypack.
 Removethebatterypack.
 Closethebatterycover.
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the
battery pack and keep hands clear of the lock-out when
carryingortransportingthetool.
For complete charging instructions, see the operator’s manu-
alsforyourbatterypackandcharger.
STARTING/STOPPING THE EDGER
See Figure 6.
To start:
 Depressthelock-outtrigger.
 Squeezeandholdtheswitchtrigger.
To stop:
 Releasetheswitchtriggertostoptheedger.
NOTE: The switch trigger will remain operable until you
removeyourhandfromtherearhandle.Thiswillallow
thelock-outtriggertoresettothelockedposition.
