MONOPOLY GAME RULES OF PLAY
OBJECT

Ifyou do notwish to buy the property, the Banker auctions ittothe highest bidder.The
buyer paystothe Bank the amount of the bid, incash, and receives the Title Deed card
for the property. Any player, including the one who declined the option of buying the
property atthe printedvalue, may bid. Biddingmay start at any price.

The owner stillcollects double rentfrom an opponentwho landson the unimproved
propertiesof histher complete color-group.
Followingthe above rules, you may buy and placeatany timeas many apartments as
your judgment and financial standing will allow. But you must placethem evenly, i.e.. you
cannot place more than one apartment on any one property of any color-group untilyou
have placedone apartment
on every property of that group. You maythen begin on the
second row of apartments, and so on, uptoa limitof four apartments to a property.
For example, you cannot place three apartments onone property ifyou have only one
apartment onanother property of that group.
As you buildevenly, you must also breakdownevenly if you sell apartments back tothe
Bank (see SELLING PROPEE
SKYSCRAPERS... When a player has four apartments on each property of a complete
color-group, helshe may buya skyscraper fromthe Bank and place
it onany property of
the color-group. Helshe returns the four apartments from that propertyto the Bank and
paysthe pricefor the skyscraper as shown on the Title Deedcard. Only one skyscraper
may
be placedon myone propetty.

Inorder tolift the mortgage,the owner must pay the Bank theamount
of the mortgage
plus10% interest. When all of the propertiesof acolor-groupare no longer mortgaged,
the owner maybegin to buyback apartments at full price.

secure itby liftingthe mortgagefrom the Bank. However, the owner may sell this
mortgaged property toanother player
at any agreed price. If you are the new owner, you
may liftthe mortgage at once ifyou wish by paying off the mortgage
