Specifications are subject to change without notice (Document 11126.001.G1) 2/2
INSTALLATION
1. Installation shall be done in accordance to the applicable electric code and specific application regulations.
2. A listed electrical enclosure shall be used for the LMPS primar connection.
3. The power suppl shall be oriented in a wa that will not let condensing water accumulate in the enclosure.
4. For outdoor and/or damp environments the power suppl shall be installed in an appropriate location and in a listed
electrical enclosure approved for the purpose.
5. Use #8 fasteners to secure the power suppl in place.
6. If more than one (1) LMPS is used, keep a spacing of at least one (1) inch (25.4 mm) between each LMPS.
7. If the Class 2 feeder circuit needs to be extended between the LMPS and the LED arra s, use twisted pair cable t pe
CL2 14 AWG listed for the applicable environment (figure 2). Substitutions according to NEC table 725.154(G) and
CEC article 16.210, 16-222, table 19 are permitted (also refer to CEC Appendix B).
8. When using a twisted pair CL2 14 AWG extension, appl the appropriate distance factor (table 2) on the maximum
output power rating of the power suppl that is being used.
Example: LED arra s are at 100 foot of an LMPS-350, 35watts X .68 = 23.8 watts remaining for the LED arra s.
9. To calculate the load, refer to the specification sheet of the HEICO lighting
TM
product that will be used.
If the power suppl loading capacit is exceeded, the LMPS power suppl will not be damaged but light output could
be decreased.
Table 2: Distance factor
Feet 0 15 25 50 75 100 125 150
LMPS-350 1 1 1 1 .97 .68 .42 N/A
LMPS-750 1 .85 .85 .81 .77 .73 .61 .53
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
1. A listed electrical enclosure shall be used for the LMPS primar connection.
2. The LMPS-750 shall be grounded to an earthed terminal. The LMPS-350 does not require grounding.
3. The Class 2 output lead shall be ph sicall separated from the 120 volts input.
4. 14 AWG wire shall be used on the Class 2 circuit. Use of other wire gauges is not recommended.
5. Splices on the Class 2 circuit are permitted. Use listed splice connectors approved for the purpose.
6. LED arra s shall be wired in series. An other configuration can lead to illumination problems.
