PRO SET ELITE
The Pro Set Elite offers dual side, full ear muff with high rejection of outside
noise, speaker phase reversal switch, rugged attached microphone boom,
exible to 6’ coil cable and washable ear pad covers.
The speakers are mounted in acoustically tuned chambers. Highly efcient
32 ohm drivers are used with their -3dB points at 10 Hz and 22 kHz that can
be driven with very low amplier power. The exclusive Heil Phase Reversal
Switch is used to acoustically ‘move’ the signal from front to back. Reversing
the phase creates a spatial widening of the sound eld making it easier to
‘see’ a radio signal in a pileup as well as removing listening fatigue. The two
speakers are terminated in a stereo 1/8” male connector and comes with a
stereo ¼” adapter.
The Pro Set Elite - 6 microphone contains the Heil HC 6 full range dynamic
broadcast element. The -3dB points are xed at 100 Hz and 12 kHz with
sensitivity of -57 dB at 600 ohms output impedance (centered at 1 kHz.)
The iC electret element works specically with low gain audio of some
iCOM rigs. This element must be paired with the proper adapter cable (not
included). The iC element has an operating frequency response of 35Hz -
12kHz. The -3 dB points are xed at 100 Hz and 12k Hz with the sensitivity of-57
at 600 ohms output centered at IkHz. The iC element requires +5 volts D.C.
bias power to operate. Please reference your iCOM manual for where to
nd this in the menu of your radio model.
The heavy duty microphone boom can be adjusted for proper placement
which best performs with the microphone placed slightly BELOW the lower
lip. It is advisable to position the microphone parallel to the oor and talk
ACROSS the element which reduces breath blasts. The supplied windscreen
does not change the frequency response, but only the breath blasts directly
into the microphone.
The use of the accessory Heil AD-1 series microphone adapter cables allows
simple interface with popular amateur radio transceiver inputs. The AD-1
eight inch long adapter has a 1/8” female input jack which the Grey 1/8” male
mono plug at the end of the PRO SET ELITE coil cable connects into. The
stereo Black 1/8” male connector of the PRO SET ELITE coil cable comes
with a 1/4” stereo adapter which plugs directly into the headphone output jack
of your receiver. The Heil AD-1 adapter cable also has a 1/4” female which
is the Push To Talk line of your transceiver. A Heil handswitch or footswitch
connects into the 1/4” pigtail. See the diagram to the right.
The vinyl cushioned ear pads are eld replaceable
and the cotton covers can be easily removed for
washing.

HEADBAND ADJUSTMENT
There is a stainless steel band inside the padded top
band. By bending that top band you can adjust the
pressure on your ears to a comfortable level.
