SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
General Information
1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
4. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less
than 8 years.
5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
6. Regarding the instructions pertaining to the cleaning of the
appliance and the details on how to remove breadcrumbs,
please refer to the paragraph “CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE” of the manual.
7. This appliance is intended to be used in household and
similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shop,
offices and other working environment; farm houses; by
clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
8. Read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe
place.
9. Only use the appliance as described in this manual.
10. In case of damage caused by failure of not living up to this
manual the warranty will decay immediately. The
manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages
caused by failure to not living up the manual, a negligent

use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this
manual.
11. Always remove the power cord and let it cool: Before
moving the unit; Before the unit is stored; Before you go
mounting or dismantle parts; Before cleaning or
maintenance work; After use.
12. Only have the appliance repaired by a qualified service
center.
Electricity and heat
1. Before use, check that the mains power supply voltage is
the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance.
2. Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
3. Regularly check the power cord for damage.
4. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug
or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or
damaged in any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer
or the nearest authorized service agent for examination,
repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
5. To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do
not pull the power cord.
6. Make sure the power cord does not come into contact with
hot surfaces or steam.
7. Always remove the plug from the plug socket before you
move the appliance.
8. The machine should not be operated by means of an
external timer-switch or by means of a separate system
with remote control.
9. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high
voltage appliance on the same circuit.
10. To protect against electric shock do not immerse cord,
plugs, or housing in water or other liquid.
11. Do not touch the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the
plug from its socket, turn off the appliance and do not use
it again.

12. Do not use the appliance close to hot objects such as a
stove or oven.
Using the appliance
1. The use of accessory attachment not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
2. Only use the appliance indoors, in dry areas away from
water.
3. Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water
or other liquids. There is danger to life due to electric shock!
4. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use the
appliance outdoors or on wet surfaces.
5. Children are unable to recognize the hazards associated
with incorrect handling of electrical appliances. Therefore,
children should never use electric household appliances
unsupervised.
6. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used
by or near children.
7. Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
8. This appliance is not designed for commercial use.
9. Warning!! Should any pieces of toast or other items
happen to get stuck in the toaster, never try to remove
them with a knife or any other object, since contact with
live parts can cause an electric shock. Let the appliance cool
down and take the plug out of the socket before removing
the bread.
10. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near
or below combustible material, such as curtains.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before initial use:
Before using the toaster for the first time, clean your toaster (see Chapter “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE”).
Operate the toaster at least twice without bread and on the highest setting. Ventilate the room during this
period.
This appliance may emit a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time. This is normal, and no
harm.
Use:
1. Insert the power plug and cable into the socket and turn on the toaster.
2. Insert up to two slices of bread in the browning slot.
3. Use the browning control switch to select the desired degree of browning between 1 and 7 (1 = lightest; 7 =
darkest degree of browning). No. 3 is recommended for first use. The degree of browning chosen depends
on the type of bread and individual taste.
4. Press the toasting lever down until it engages. The toasting process starts automatically. The cancel button
will illuminate.
5. Please remember that the toasting lever will not engage if the power plug is not inserted in the socket and
the toaster is not switched on.
6. The toaster switches itself off automatically and the toasted bread is ejected when the desired degree of
browning has been reached. The cancel button can always be used to cancel the browning process. Do not
use the toasting lever to stop the process.
NOTE:
(1) Do not place any rolls etc. directly on the toast aperture but place them on the bun warmer.
(2) The bun warmer is foldable. When the bun warmer is needed, pull the rack outward and put it on the
toaster. If the bun warmer is not needed, fold up the rack and deposit.
(3) Make sure if toasting on the bun warmer, do not insert bread into the toast aperture. A fire may occur.
(4) The degree of browning for one slice is darker than that for two slices of bread at the same level.
(5) A minimum 30 seconds interval between each toasting can get the same degree of browning for different
batch of toasted bread.
(6) Please rotate the browning control switch to 1 or 2 positon for toasting two buns on the bun warmer.
(7) Oversized food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster as they may cause fire
or electric shock.

Reheat function:
Insert toasts into the appliance. Press down the toasting lever and then press the reheat button. The button will
illuminate.
Defrost function:
Press the defrost button to prolong the toasting time of frozen bread. The button will illuminate.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Before cleaning, make sure that you have removed the power plug from the socket. Let the toaster cool
down first.
2. Pull the crumbs collector out to clean it up, reset it before using the appliance again.
3. Clean the outside of the toaster with a slightly damp cloth and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Never dip the
toaster in water to clean it!
4. To clean the inside, turn it upside down and shake it over the sink until any crumbs adhering to the inside
fall out. Clean the crumb collector regularly to avoid crumbs accumulating inside.

The warranty on this article is invalidated if:
a. the defect occurs through incorrect or improper use, neglect, connection to the wrong power voltage, or if
dropped or knocked;
b. you have attempted to repair the article yourself, or have had it repaired by a repair service other than HEMA
during the warranty period.
If you wish to make a claim under the warranty terms:
You will need to hand in the article at one of our branches together with the warranty receipt. Under normal
circumstances the article will be repaired free of charge within 14 workdays.
Extra certainty for the right choice
If, after purchasing the article, you are dissatisfied (because it is not exactly what you expected or you already
have this article), you can return the article within 30 days of purchase, on condition that it is undamaged and in
the original packaging.
Remember that you must always bring your sales receipt.

VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN
Algemeen
1. Dit toestel mag gebruikt worden door kinderen vanaf de
leeftijd van 8 jaar en door personen met verminderde
fysieke, zintuiglijke of mentale capaciteiten of met gebrek
aan ervaring of kennis, indien zij onder het toezicht staan
of gebruiksinstructies voor het veilig gebruik van dit toestel
gekregen hebben en de mogelijke gevaren begrijpen.
2. Kinderen mogen niet met dit toestel spelen.
3. Reiniging en onderhoud mogen niet door kinderen worden
uitgevoerd, tenzij ze minstens 8 jaar oud zijn en onder
toezicht staan.
4. Houd het apparaat en snoer buiten bereik van kinderen
jonger dan 8 jaar.
5. Als het stroomsnoer beschadigd is, dan moet het
vervangen worden door de fabrikant, diens dealer of een

11. Haal altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat het
afkoelen: voordat u het apparaat verplaatst; voordat het
apparaat opgeborgen wordt; voordat u onderdelen gaat
monteren of demonteren; vóór reiniging of
onderhoudswerken; na gebruik.
12. Laat reparaties alleen door een gekwalificeerd
servicecentrum uitvoeren.
Elektriciteit en warmte
1. Controleer vóór gebruik of de netspanning gelijk is aan de
netspanning die op het apparaat wordt vermeld.
2. Sluit het apparaat alleen aan op een geaard stopcontact.
3. Controleer het snoer regelmatig op beschadigingen.
4. Gebruik geen enkel apparaat met een beschadigde kabel of
stekker of nadat het apparaat defecten vertoont, gevallen
is of op enige manier beschadigd is geraakt. Lever het
apparaat in bij de fabrikant of het dichtstbijzijnde,
gekwalificeerd centrum voor inspectie, reparatie of
elektrische of mechanische modificaties.
5. Trek aan de stekker en niet aan het snoer wanneer u de
stekker uit het stopcontact haalt.
6. Voorkom dat het snoer in aanraking komt met een heet
oppervlak of stoom.
7. Haal altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u het
apparaat verplaatst.
8. Het apparaat dient niet bediend te worden door middel
van een externe tijdschakelaar of door middel van een
apart systeem met afstandsbediening.
9. Om een overbelasting te voorkomen gebruik geen ander
hoog voltage op hetzelfde circuit.
10. Dompel de kabel, de stekker of behuizing nooit onder in
water of andere vloeistoffen om het risico op elektrische
schokken te vermijden.

11. Raak het apparaat niet aan als het in water is gevallen. Haal
de stekker uit het stopcontact, schakel het apparaat uit en
gebruik het niet meer.
12. Gebruik het apparaat niet in de directe nabijheid van
hittebronnen zoals een fornuis of oven.
Gebruik
1. Gebruik van accessoires niet aanbevolen door de fabrikant
van het apparaat kan leiden tot persoonlijk letsel.
2. Gebruik het apparaat alleen binnenshuis, in droge ruimtes
en niet in de nabijheid van water.
3. Dompel het apparaat of de stekker niet onder in water of
andere vloeistoffen. Dit kan een elektrische schok
veroorzaken met de dood tot gevolg!
4. Ter beperking van het risico van elektrische schok dient het
apparaat niet buiten of op natte oppervlakken te worden
gebruikt.
5. Kinderen zijn niet in staat de gevaren in te schatten die het
verkeerd gebruik van elektrische apparaten met zich
meebrengt. Daarom mogen kinderen nooit zonder toezicht
elektrische huishoudelijke apparaten gebruiken.
6. Volwassen toezicht is nodig als het apparaat gebruikt wordt
door kinderen of zich in de nabijheid van hen bevindt.
7. Laat het apparaat tijdens het gebruik nooit onbeheerd
achter.
8. Dit apparaat is niet ontworpen voor commercieel gebruik.
9. Waarschuwing!! Probeer nooit vastgeklemde sneetjes
geroosterd brood of andere delen meteen mes of andere
voorwerpen uit de broodrooster te halen, omdat het
contact met onderdelen die onder stroom staan kan leiden
tot een elektrische schok! Laat het toestel eerst afkoelen,
trek de stekker uit het stopcontact en haal dan voorzichtig
het brood eruit.
10. Omdat het brood kan aanbranden, dient u de toaster niet
te gebruiken in de buurt van of onder brandbare
materialen, zoals gordijnen.

GEBRUIKSAANWIJZINGEN
Vóór het eerste gebruik:
Voordat u het broodrooster voor het eerst gebruikt, dient u het schoon te maken (zie Hoofdstuk “REINIGING
EN ONDERHOUD”). Laat het broodrooster minstens tweemaal zonder brood en op de hoogste instelling
werken. Ventileer de kamer tijdens deze periode.
Dit apparaat kan een kenmerkende geur afgeven wanneer u het voor het eerst inschakelt. Dit is normaal en
onschadelijk.
Gebruik:
1. Steek de stekker in het stopcontact en schakel het broodrooster in.
2. Steek een of twee sneden brood in de roostersleuven.
3. Selecteer met de regelaar voor de bruiningsgraad de gewenste roostersterkte tussen 1 en 7 (1 = laagste; 7 =
hoogste roostersterkte). Wanneer u het toestel voor het eerst gebruikt, raden wij u instelling nr. 3 aan. De
roostersterkte is afhankelijk van het type brood en van uw persoonlijke smaak.
4. Druk de uitwerpknop naar beneden, totdat deze vast klikt. Het roosterproces begint automatisch. De
annuleringsknop brandt.
5. Let op: de uitwerpknop functioneert alleen als de stekker in het stopcontact zit en het broodrooster is
ingeschakeld.
6. Het broodrooster schakelt automatisch uit en het geroosterde brood springt omhoog wanneer de gewenste
roostersterkte is bereikt. De annuleringsknop kan op elk moment worden gebruikt om het roosterproces te
annuleren. Gebruik de roosterhendel niet om het roosterproces te stoppen.
N.B.:
(1) Leg geen broodjes enzovoort direct op de roostergleuven maar leg deze op het opzetrekje voor broodjes.
(2) Het opwarmrek voor broodjes is opvouwbaar. Als u het opwarmrek wilt gebruiken, trek het rek omhoog
en plaats het op de broodrooster. Als u het opwarmrek niet langer nodig hebt, vouw het rek op en berg het
vervolgens op.
(3) Als u broodjes op het rek opwarmt, steek geen brood in de broodsleuven. Er bestaat brandgevaar.
(4) De kleur van het brood is op dezelfde instelling donkerder wanneer er zich slechts één sneetje brood in
plaats van twee sneetjes in de broodrooster bevindt.
(5) Wacht minstens 30 seconden tussen twee roostercycli om dezelfde bruiningsgraad te krijgen.
(6) Stel de bruiningsregelaar in op stand 1 of 2 om twee broodjes op het rek op te warmen.
(7) Breng geen bovenmaats voedsel, metalen folieverpakking of keukengerei in de broodrooster, deze
kunnen brand of een elektrische schok veroorzaken.

Opwarmfunctie:
Steek de toast in het apparaat. Druk op het roosterhendel en druk vervolgens op de opwarmtoets. De toets zal
oplichten.
Ontdooifunctie:
Druk op de ontdooitoets om de roostertijd van bevroren brood te verlengen. De toets zal oplichten.
REINIGING EN ONDERHOUD
1. Zorg ervoor dat voor het schoonmaken de stekker uit het stopcontact gehaald is. Laat het broodrooster eerst
afkoelen.
2. Haal het kruimellade uit het toestel om het te reinigen en steek het er opnieuw in, alvorens het toestel
opnieuw te gebruiken.
3. Reinig de buitenkant van het broodrooster met een vochtige doek en droog hem met een zachte doek af.
Dompel het broodrooster nooit onder in water om hem te reinigen!
4. Om de binnenkant van het broodrooster te reinigen, moet u deze omdraaien en hem boven het aanrecht
uitschudden zodat de klevende kruimels eruit vallen. Reinig de kruimellade regelmatig zodat zich niet te veel
kruimels in de broodrooster verzamelen.

Hema B.V. garandeert het op de garantiebewijsbon vermelde artikel volledig tegen gebreken als gevolg van
materiaal- en fabricagefouten.
Voor alle elektrisch huishoudelijke apparaten is de garantietermijn 2 jaar na de datum van aankoop.
De garantie op het artikel vervalt indien:
a. het defect is ontstaan door ondeskundig of oneigenlijk gebruik, verwaarlozing, aansluiten op de verkeerde
netspanning of door vallen of stoten;
b. u, gedurende de garantieperiode, het artikel zelf of door een niet-HEMA reparateur heeft geprobeerd te
herstellen.
Als u aanspraak kunt en wilt maken op garantie:
Dient het artikel, vergezeld van de garantiebewijsbon, te worden aangeboden in één van onze vestigingen. In het
algemeen zal, behoudens bijzondere omstandigheden, de reparatie binnen 14 werkdagen geheel gratis worden
uitgevoerd.
Extra zekerheid voor een goede keus
Als u met de aankoop van het artikel achteraf toch niet gelukkig bent (bijvoorbeeld omdat de uitvoering tegenvalt
of een dubbele aankoop heeft plaatsgevonden), kunt u binnen 30 dagen na aankoop, mits onbeschadigd en in
originele verpakking, het artikel terugbrengen.
Neem dan wel altijd de kassabon mee.
U kunt het artikel dan ruilen of desgewenst uw geld terug krijgen.

11. Toujours débrancher le cordon d’alimentation et permettre
à l’appareil de refroidir: Avant de déplacer l’unité; Avant de
ranger l’unité; Avant la démonte ou remonte de pièces;
Avant toute opération de dépannage ou d’entretien; Après

12. Confiez les réparations à un service technique qualifié.
Électricité et chaleur
1. Avant utilisation, assurez-vous que la tension de votre
réseau d’alimentation correspond à la tension indiquée sur
l’appareil.
2. Branchez l’appareil sur une prise raccordée à la terre.
3. Inspectez le cordon d’alimentation régulièrement.
4. N’utilisez aucun appareil ou le cordon ou la fiche est
endommagé, ou une fois qu’il a subit des
disfonctionnements, une chute ou été endommagé d’une
façon quelconque. Retournez l’appareil chez le
constructeur ou le réparateur agrée le plus proche pour le
faire examiner e réparer ou ajuster.
5. Lorsque vous débranchez la fiche, saisissez la fiche elle-
même; ne tirez pas sur le cardon.
6. Veillez à ce que le cordon n’entre pas en contact avec une
surface très chaude ou avec de la vapeur.
7. Débranchez toujours la fiche lorsque vous déplacez
l’appareil.
8. L’appareil ne doit pas être mis en marche au moyen d’une
prise minuteur externe ou au moyen d’un système de
télécommande séparé.
9. Pour éviter un court-circuit, n’utilisez pas un autre appareil
de haut voltage sur le même circuit.

10. Pour vous protéger des électrocutions. N’immergez pas le
cordon, les fiches ou le boîtier dans l’eau ou tout autre
liquide.
11. Ne rattrapez pas l’appareil s’il tombe dans l’eau.
Débranchez la fiche, éteignez l’appareil et cessez de
l’utiliser.
12. N’utilisez pas l’appareil à proximité directe de sources de
chaleur telles qu’une cuisinière ou un four.
Utilisation
1. L’utilisation d’accessoires non recommandés pas le
constructeur de l’équipement peut provoquer des
blessures.
2. Utilisez d’appareil à l’intérieur, dans une pièce sèche et pas
trop près de l’eau.
3. N'immergez pas l'appareil ou la fiche de courant dans l'eau
ou un autre liquide. Il y a un risque d'électrocution fatale!
4. Pour limité risque d’électrocution n’utilisez pas cet appareil
à l’extérieur ou sur surface mouillée.
5. Les enfants ne sont pas à même de reconnaître les risques
résultants d'une mauvaise utilisation des équipements
électriques. Ils ne doivent donc jamais utiliser les
équipements électroménagers sans surveillance.
6. Une surveillance aigue est nécessaire pour tous les
appareils utilisés par ou près d’enfants.
7. Ne laissez jamais l'appareil sans surveillance lorsqu'il est en
marche.
8. Cet appareil n'est pas destiné à une utilisation
commerciale.
9. Avertissement!! N'essayez jamais d'extraire des tranches
de toast ou autres pièces avec un couteau ou d'autres
objets, car le contact avec des éléments conducteurs
d'électricité peut conduire à une électrocution! Laissez
d'abord refroidir l'appareil, retirez la fiche de la prise de
courant du secteur et retirez le pain avec précaution.
10. Le pain peut prendre feu, il est donc recommandé de ne
pas installer le grille-pain à proximité ou sous des
matériaux inflammables, comme des rideaux.

MODE D'EMPLOI
Avant la première utilisation :
Avant la première utilisation du grille-pain, nettoyez-le (voir chapitre « NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN »). Mettez
le grille-pain en service au moins deux fois, sans pain, et avec les réglages les plus élevés. Veillez à ce que la
pièce soit aérée au cours de cette opération.
Cet appareil peut dégager une odeur caractéristique lorsque vous le mettez sous tension pour la première
fois. C'est un phénomène normal qui ne présente aucun danger.
Utilisation:
1. Enfichez la fiche du câble d'alimentation dans une prise de courant et mettez le grille-pain en service.
2. Placez une ou deux tranches de pain dans les fentes à griller.
3. Sélectionnez à l'aide du régulateur du degré de dorage le degré de dorage entre 1 et 7 (1 = degré de dorage
le plus clair; 7 = degré de dorage le plus foncé). Pour la première utilisation, nous recommandons de
sélectionner le réglage N°3.Le degré de dorage dépend du type de pain et de votre goût personnel.
4. Poussez le levier d'éjection vers le bas jusqu'à ce qu'il encliquette. Le processus de grillage démarre
automatiquement. Le bouton Annuler s’allume.
5. Veuillez ne pas oublier que le levier d'éjection n'encliquette pas lorsque la fiche n'est pas enfichée dans une
prise de courant et que le grille-pain n'est pas allumé.
6. Le grille-pain s'éteint lorsque le degré de dorage souhaité est atteint et relève automatiquement le toast. Le
bouton Annuler peut être utilisé n’importe quand pour annuler le brunissage en cours. N’utilisez pas la
manette du chariot pour arrêter le brunissage.
NOTE:
(1) Ne placez pas de petits-pains ou autres directement sur les fentes à griller, mais disposez-les sur le
chauffe-brioche.
(2) Le support à viennoiserie est pliant. Quand le support à viennoiserie est requis, dépliez-le et placez-le sur
le grille-pain. Quand le support à viennoiserie n’est pas requis, retirez-le et repliez-le.
(3) Lors de l’utilisation du support à viennoiserie, veillez à ne pas mettre de pain dans les fentes de grillage.
Cela pourrait provoquer un incendie.
(4) Pour un réglage donné, le brunissage est plus prononcé quand vous ne grillez qu’une seule tranche au
lieu de deux simultanément.
(5) Un intervalle minimum de 30 s entre chaque cycle de grillage doit être respecté pour que les tranches de
pain successives atteignent le même niveau de brunissage.
(6) Tournez le bouton de réglage du brunissage sur la position 1 ou 2 pour griller deux viennoiseries sur le
support à viennoiserie.

(7) Les aliments trop grands, les ustensiles et emballages comportant des éléments métalliques ne doivent
pas être insérés dans le grille-pain, car ils peuvent provoquer un choc électrique ou un incendie.
Fonction de « Réchauffage» :
Mettez des toasts dans l'appareil. Appuyez sur le levier à gril et ensuite, sur le bouton « Réchauffage ». Le bouton
s'illuminera.
Fonction de « Dégivrage » :
Appuyez sur le bouton « Dégivrage » pour prolonger la durée du brunissement du pain surgelé. Le bouton
s'illuminera.
NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN
1. Assurez-vous d’avoir débranché l’appareil de la prise avant de le nettoyer. Laissez refroidir le grille-pain avant
de commencer.
2. Retirer le collecteur de miettes afin de le nettoyer, réinstaller le avant d’utiliser à nouveau l’appareil.
3. Nettoyez les surfaces extérieures de l’appareil avec un chiffon légèrement humide et séchez-le avec un
chiffon doux. Ne plongez jamais le grille-pain dans l'eau pour le nettoyer!
4. Pour nettoyer l'intérieur, retournez le grille-pain au-dessus d'un évier et secouez-le de manière à ce que les
miettes incrustées tombent. Nettoyez le tiroir à miettes de pain régulièrement de manière à ce que des
miettes ne s'accumulent pas dans le grille-pain.
