1 Introduction
1.1 About this manual
The maintenance instructions contain information:
•About the safe maintenance of the unit.
Observe the following notes and adhere to them:
•Read the maintenance instructions completely before starting
maintenance.
•Read the Operating instructions before operating the unit.
Target group The target group for the maintenance instructions is trained technical
personnel, who are familiar with maintaining and operating the unit.
Figures All figures in this manual are intended as examples. Discrepancies
can arise between this and the actual unit.

2 Safety instructions
The unit complies with applicable safety standards. Residual risks
associated with operation or risks resulting from incorrect operation
cannot be ruled out and are mentioned specifically in the safety
instructions and warnings.
The maintenance personnel must observe the safety information in
these maintenance instructions.
The maintenance personnel must also observe the "Safety
information" chapter in the installation instructions.
The maintenance personnel must be familiar with regional regulations
and observe them.
Organizational measures Risk of property damage and personal injury from lack of

•Identify danger zones when transporting, installing and connecting
the unit.
•Inform the operators present prior to starting the mounting work.
•Discuss how to respond to an emergency prior to starting the
mounting work.

DANGER Risk of personal injury and property damage from electric shock
• Before working on the unit, ensure that the unit is dead.
• Do not operate the unit with the housing open.
CAUTION Risk of falling from unstable climbing aids
• Use only approved ladders or step stools as climbing aids.
CAUTION Risk of burns from hot surfaces
Allow the unit to cool down before maintenance.
Only carry out maintenance on a unit that has cooled down.
CAUTION Risk of injury from sharp edges
• Wear protective gloves.
NOTICE Risk of physical damage to activated charcoal filter from incom-
plete filter materials
Operate unit only with fully inserted filter materials.
INFORMATION A slight discoloration of the filter materials does not indicate the degree of soil-
ing or functional capability.
It is not an indication of poor quality.
4.1 Cleaning intervals
The cleaning intervals depend on the manner and intensity of
combisteamer use.
For average use the manufacturer recommends the following cleaning
intervals
•Condensation area under the grease filter – clean once a week
•Grease filter – clean every 4 weeks
•Filter mat (yellow) – clean or replace every 2 months
•Air filter – replace every 12 months
•Activated charcoal filter – visual inspection annually

Prerequisite Ventless hood and associated unit disconnected from power
Unit has cooled down
Stable position of ladder if the ventless hood cannot be reach
without an aid
Clean the condensation area with the provided cleaning brush,
warm water and commercially available detergent.

INFORMATION The grease filter lies loosely in its holder.
INFORMATION After the grease filter has been removed visual inspection of the yellow filter
mat is possible.
Removal
Prerequisite Unit dead
Unit has cooled down
Stable position of ladder if the ventless hood cannot be reached
without an aid
1. Grasp the grease filter by the handles at the left and right.
2. Push the lower part towards the back.
3. Pull the upper part down at a slight angle.
4. Remove the grease filter
Cleaning
5. Clean the grease filter in a dishwasher.
6. Dry the grease filter.
Installation
7. Place the dry grease filter back in the ventless hood.
8. Check that the filter is properly seated.
The grease filter is now cleaned.

Remove grease filter before removing the filter drawer.

Prerequisite Disconnect the ventless hood and associated unit from power
Unit has cooled down
Grease filter removed
Stable position of ladder if the ventless hood cannot be reach
without an aid
Area under the ventless hood protected
1. Carefully pull filter drawer forward and remove it by pulling up at
an angle.
2. If you are using a ladder, hand the filter drawer to a second
person.
3. Place the filter drawer securely on a flat surface.
The filter in the filter drawer can now be removed safely.
4.5 Inserting the filter drawer
Prerequisite Disconnect the ventless hood and associated unit from power
Unit has cooled down
Grease filter removed
Stable position of ladder if the ventless hood cannot be reach
without an aid
Area under the ventless hood protected
1. If you are using a ladder, have a second person hand you the filter
drawer.
2. Carefully slide the filter drawer into the holder fully from above at a
slight angle.
3. Insert the grease filter
The ventless hood is ready for operation.

NOTICE Risk of property damage from improper cleaning
Do not use a fabric softener when cleaning the yellow filter mat.
Always wash the yellow filter mat separately.
Reinstall only a fully dried filter mat.
Prerequisite Filter drawer removed
Air filter removed
1. Remove yellow filter mat, incl. holder.
2. Remove yellow filter mat from holder.
Manual washing
3. Allow the yellow filter mat to soak for 5 minutes in a basin of warm
water and commercially available cleaning agent.
4. Knead it thoroughly several times, but do not wring it.
5. Wash it out under clear warm water and press out the water.
6. Repeat both procedures until the water does not show any more
discoloration.
Machine washing
7. Before washing the yellow filter mat spray it thoroughly with a
grease remover and allow it to act.
8. For normal soiling, wash at 30 °C (86°F).
9. For sever soiling, wash at 60 °C (140°F).
10.Spin at max. 800 rpm.
Drying
11.After washing the filter mat, dry it on a smooth horizontal
substrate at ground level.
Installation
12.Place dry yellow filter mat into holder and close holder.
13.Place holder with filter mat into filter drawer.
The yellow filter mat is cleaned.

4.7 Checking the activated charcoal filter

With the aid of a flashlight, check the activated charcoal filter at
the rear of the ventless hood for soiling.
4.8 Changing the air filter

1. Remove the air filter from the filter drawer.

2. Place new air filter into the filter drawer with the foam gasket
facing up.
The air filter is changed.
