Chapter 1 Overview
1.1 Introducon
As a protocol converter, the Hik IP Receiver Pro connects devices and ARC (alarm receiving center)
for data transmission, through LAN or WAN.
There are three methods of adding devices to Hik IP Receiver Pro.
●You can add devices (including AX Pro/AX Hub security control panel, network camera, NVR, and
DVR.) managed on the Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro to integrate them to the ARC
through protocols.
●You can add single or mulple security control panels to the Hik IP Receiver Pro through ISUP5.0
protocol.
●You can add single or mulple third-party devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro with device name
and account ID.
Aer correct conguraons on the Hik IP Receiver Pro and the ARC, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can
receive and transmit alarms and alarm-related videos or images from devices on the Hik IP
Receiver Pro to the ARC for nocaon and video or image vericaon.
This manual guides you to congure the Hik IP Receiver Pro. To ensure a proper usage and stability
of the Hik IP Receiver Pro, refer to the contents below and read the manual carefully before
installaon and operaon.
1.2 Running Environment
The following is recommended system requirement for running the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
Operang System
Microso Windows 10 (64-bit) / Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit) / Windows Server 2016 (64-
bit)
Note
For Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit), the patch KB2999226 is required to be installed.
CPU
Intel Core i5-7500 @ 3.0 GHz, four-core or above
RAM
8 GB or above
NIC
Gigabit-NIC with latest driver

Note
If the computer with Hik IP Receiver Pro installed goes into sleep mode, an excepon will occur to
Hik IP Receiver Pro. It is required to disable the sleep mode of your PC to ensure that Hik IP
Receiver Pro works properly.
1.3 What's New
The following shows the changes in Hik IP Receiver Pro 1.5.0.
1. The Administrator and Super Admin (ARC account) can manage all operators, assign devices to
operators, and manage all devices managed by operator. For details, refer to Manage Operators
and View and Edit Managed Devices of Operators .
2. Supports using ARC account as Super Admin. For details, refer to Congure Hik-ProConnect
Parameters .
3. Supports viewing operaon logs. For details, refer to View Operaon Logs .
4. Supports conguring illegal login lock. For details, refer to Congure Illegal Login Lock .
5. For encoding device events, supports conguring whether to enable Restore Event. For details,
refer to Edit Encoding Device Event and Device Status Event .
6. When you add devices managed on Hik-ProConnect, supports automacally lling in Account ID
with device serial number. For details, refer to Add Hikvision Device(s) Managed on Hik-
ProConnect .
7. By default, only devices that are not added to Hik IP Receiver Pro are displayed when you add
devices managed on Hik-ProConnect to Hik IP Receiver Pro. Check Display All to display all
devices regardless of whether they have been added or not. For details, refer to Add Hikvision
Device(s) Managed on Hik-ProConnect .
8. You can set stream keys when you add devices managed on Hik-ProConnect. For details, refer to
Add Hikvision Device(s) Managed on Hik-ProConnect .
9. For Hik-ProConnect alarm devices, ISUP alarm devices, and third-party devices, you can set
stream keys of linked channels. For details, refer to Set Zone .
10. Supports batch conguring linked channels for mulple zones. For details, refer to Set Zone .
11. Supports retrying downloading a video when verifying videos. For details, refer to Search
History Event .
12. SIA-DCS Protocol is now changed to DC-09 protocol. There are now two ID Tokens: SIADCS and
ADM-CID. For details, refer to Congure Protocol Parameters .
13. Third-Party protocols (Client mode of Sur-Gard, Manitou, SBN, and DC-09) support enabling
Spare ARC to receive alarms and displaying ARC address. For details, refer to Congure
Protocol Parameters .

Chapter 2 Installaon
You can install the Hik IP Receiver Pro service to your server or PC, and acvate the service. Then
you can use the service remotely.
2.1 Port Instrucon
Before installing Hik IP Receiver Pro service, ensure the default ports of the Hik IP Receiver Pro are
not used by other services, otherwise the Hik IP Receiver Pro service will be unavailable.

7661 TCP Used for registering devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by

devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.

control devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.

2.2 Install Hik IP Receiver Pro
You can install the Hik IP Receiver Pro service on a computer or server. Aer that, you can start the
service, stop the service or exit the service by watchdog.
Steps
1. Right-click the program le and run as the administrator to enter the welcome panel.
2. Click Next.
3. Oponal: Click Browse... to select the path of legacy conguraon les and click Next.
Note
If you have kept the conguraon les of an uninstalled Hik IP Receiver Pro, the Hik IP Receiver
Pro will reuse the les saved in the selected path when you install a new version.
4. Click Browse... and select a proper directory as required to install the service.
5. Click Next to connue.
6. Oponal: Edit the HTTP port if the port number is conict, otherwise the installaon cannot be
connued.
7. Click Install to begin the installaon.
8. Read the post-install informaon and click Finish to complete the installaon.
Result
Aer successful installaon, the Watchdog service will get started and hide in the nocaon area
of the desktop. Right-click and select the opon to stop the service, start the service, or exist
the service.
Note
●If you install Hik IP Receiver Pro remotely, you need to log into the local computer to show the
Watchdog service.
●A window will pop up asking whether to keep the conguraon le when you re-install the Hik IP
Receiver Pro. You can choose to keep it or not.
2.3 Acvate Hik IP Receiver Pro
By default, Hik IP Receiver Pro predened the administrator user named admin. When you log in to
Hik IP Receiver Pro for the rst me, you are required to create a password for the admin user to
acvate Hik IP Receiver Pro before you can properly congure and operate.
Before You Start
Make sure you have installed the Hik IP Receiver Pro service.
Steps
1. Enter the address of the computer or server running with Hik IP Receiver Pro service and port
number in the address bar of the web browser, and press Enter key.

Note
The default port is 80. For conguring the port number, see Edit Port for details.
Example
If the IP address of the computer running Hik IP Receiver Pro service is 172.6.21.96, and the port
number is 80, and you should enter hp://172.6.21.96:80 in the address bar.
2. Enter the password and conrm password for the admin user in the pop-up Acvate Hik IP
Receiver Pro window.
Note
We highly recommend you change the password of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8
characters, including at least three kinds of following categories: upper case leers, lower case
leers, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product.
3. Click Acvate.

Chapter 3 Device Management
The Hik IP Receiver Pro can manage mulple device types, e.g. network camera, DVR, NVR, and AX
Pro security control panel. Aer adding devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro and conguring alarm
service and zone, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and images/videos from these
devices to ARC.

Add Device
You can add Hikvision devices managed in the Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, add
security control panels by ISUP5.0 protocol, and add third-party devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
Connecon Mode
ISUP
If the device only supports direct connecon, the connecon mode will be displayed as ISUP.
Dual-Connecon
If the device added by Hik-ProConnect supports direct connecon, the connecon mode will
be displayed as Dual-Connecon. In this mode, Hik IP Receiver Pro receives alarms by
ISUP5.0 protocol in priority, and the Supervision of online device will be displayed as
Online(ISUP). If an excepon occurs when receiving alarm by ISUP5.0 protocol, Hik IP
Receiver Pro receives alarms through Hik-ProConnect, and the Supervision of online device
will be displayed as or Online(HPC).
Online(ISUP)
The device is connected to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by direct connecon.
Online(HPC)
The device is connected to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by Hik-ProConnect.
HPC
If the device added by Hik-ProConnect does not support direct connecon, the connecon
mode will be displayed as HPC.
Enable Receiving Alarm and Set Zone
Aer adding devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, you can enable alarm service and add zone for
these devices, and then link channels to zones to transmit videos from linked channels to ARC.

3.1 Add Hikvision Device(s) Managed on Hik-ProConnect
You can add Hikvision devices managed on Hik-ProConnect to Hik IP Receiver Pro. Aer adding the
devices to Hik IP Receiver Pro, Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms triggered by these devices to
ARC.
Before You Start
Make sure you have accessed Hik IP Receiver Pro to Hik-ProConnect. See Access Hik-ProConnect
for details.
Steps
Note
This funcon should be supported by device. Devices including AX Pro security control panel, NVR,
DVR, and network camera support this funcon.
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Select Hik-ProConnect Device as the Device Type.
Devices managed on Hik-ProConnect but not yet added to Hik IP Receiver Pro are displayed in
the Select Device eld.
3. Oponal: Check Display All to display all devices regardless of whether or not a device has been
added to Hik IP Receiver Pro.
4. Check devices and click Next.
5. Enter account ID.
Note
●Up to 31 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with the account ID congured on
ARC.
●The Account ID is automacally lled in with device serial number.
6. Oponal: Enter the Stream Key of the selected device that is managed on Hik-ProConnect.
Note
Stream key is only applicable to encoding devices.
7. Check to-be-added devices and click OK.
The added devices are displayed on the Device page.
Note
●If the device supports direct connecon, the device's online status will be displayed as Online
(ISUP).
●To make sure the device supports direct connecon, you should congure external IP address
and external port beforehand. See Set Port Mapping for details.

8. Oponal: Perform the following operaons as needed.
Edit Device ●For administrator: for devices connected in HPC mode, you can click
to view the name and edit the account ID and stream key of the device.
For devices connected in Dual Connecon mode, you can edit the
account ID and view the device name, device ID and device key.
●For operator: under the condion that you are permied to manage
devices, for devices connected in HPC mode, you can edit the account ID
and Stream Key. For devices connected in Dual Connecon mode, you
can edit the account ID and view the device name.
Note
●Click → View to view the site informaon of the selected device.
●You can click to view the device key.
●Stream key is only applicable to encoding devices.
View Manager Click to view all users who can manage the device. If you are an
Administrator user, you can add and delete Operators. You can also refresh
the manager list and search for an operator who manages the device. For
detailed informaon, see Manage Operators .
Enable Alarm

Click in the Operaon column to enable receiving alarms and set zones.

Delete Device Click to delete a device; or check mulple devices and click Delete to
delete the checked devices.

3.2 Add Single ISUP5.0 Security Control Panel
You can add a security control panel to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by ISUP5.0 protocol.
Steps
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check ISUP5.0 Security Control Panel as the Device Type.
3. Select Single as the Adding Mode.
4. Enter device name, device account ID, and key.
Note
●For account ID, up to 31 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with the device ID.
●For key, up to 32 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with ISUP login password.
5. Click OK.

6. Oponal: Perform the following operaons as needed.
Edit Device For administrator and permied operators, click to edit device's
account ID, device name, and key.

3.3 Add ISUP5.0 Security Control Panels in a Batch
When there are mulple security control panels supporng ISUP5.0 protocol to add, you can enter
the device informaon in a predened template and then import it to the Hik IP Receiver Pro to
add them in a batch.
Steps
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check ISUP5.0 Security Control Panel as the Device Type.
3. Select Batch Import as the Adding Mode.
4. Click Export and save the predened template (CSV le) on your PC.
5. Open the exported template le and enter the required informaon of the devices to be added.
Account ID
Up to 31 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with the device ID.
Device Name
You can custom the device name.
Key
Up to 32 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with ISUP login password.
6. Click Import and select the edited template.
7. Click OK to import the device informaon to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
The devices are added to the Hik IP Receiver Pro and displayed on the device list.
8. Oponal: Perform the following operaons as needed.

4. Enter account ID and device name.
Note

3.5 Add Third-Party Devices in a Batch
When there are mulple third-party devices to add, you can enter the device informaon in a
predened template and then import it to the Hik IP Receiver Pro to add them in a batch.
Steps
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check Third-Party Device as the Device Type.
3. Select Batch Import as the Adding Mode.
4. Click Export and save the predened template (CSV le) on your PC.
5. Open the exported template le and enter the required informaon of the devices to be added.
Account ID
Up to 31 characters are allowed, and it should be the same with the account ID congured on
the ARC.
Device Name
You can custom the device name.
6. Click Import and select the edited template.
7. Click OK to import the device informaon to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
The devices are added to the Hik IP Receiver Pro and displayed on the device list.
8. Oponal: Perform the following operaons as needed.

Enable Alarm
Service and Set
Zone
Click in the Operaon column to enable receiving alarms and set
zones. See Set Zone for details.
View Manager Click to view all users who can manage the device. If you are an
Administrator user, you can add and delete Operators. You can also
refresh the manager list and search for an operator who manages the
device. For detailed informaon, see Manage Operators .
Delete Device Click to delete a device; or check mulple devices and click Delete to
delete the checked devices.
Synchronize Device
Informaon
Select devices, and click Synchronize Device Informaon to Synchronize
device informaon excluding alarm-related informaon from Hik-
ProConnect.
3.6 Enable Receiving Alarm and Set Paron (Area)
To receive and transmit alarms sent by devices added to Hik IP Receiver Pro, you should enable
alarm service rst. To manage mulple zones systemacally, you can add parons (areas) where
dierent zones can be added and managed.
Before You Start
Make sure you have added at least one device to the Hik IP Receiver Pro. See Device Management
for details.
Only encoding device and third-party devices support adding a paron (area).
Steps
1. On the Device page, select a device and click in the Operaon column.
2. Check Enable Alarm Service to enable alarm service.
Note
By default, it is enabled. If this funcon is disabled, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will not receive or
transmit alarm informaon from this device.
3. Click Add Paron(Area) to open the Add window.
4. Enter the Paron (Area) No. and name.
5. Click OK to save the Paron (Area).
Note
By default, the system will add a default paron(area) for the device if there is no paron
(area) of the device before. You can edit or delete the paron (area) if you need.
6. Oponal: Perform the following operaon(s).

Hover the cursor on the added paron (area) and click to edit the
paron (area) name.

Delete Paron
(Area) Hover the cursor on the added paron (area) and click to delete
the paron (area).
What to do next
Add zone(s) and link channel(s) to zones for the paron (area). See Set Zone for details.
3.7 Set Zone
For encoding device and third-party device, only if you have set zones and linked channels to zones
can the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and videos from the linked channels to ARC for
vericaon. For AX Pro with zones and linked channels already congured on the device
conguraon page, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and videos once the alarm service
is enabled.
Before You Start
●Make sure you have added at least one device to the Hik IP Receiver Pro. See Device
Management for details.
●If you are going to link channels to devices managed by the Hik-ProConnect, make sure you have
accessed the Hik IP Receiver Pro to Hik-ProConnect. See Access Hik-ProConnect for details.
Steps
1. On the Device page, select a device and click in the Operaon column.
2. Select a paron (area).
Note
Only encoding devices and third-party devices support adding a paron (area).
3. Add a zone.
Note
If you have already added the zone which needs a linkage between channels, skip this step and
just select the zone.
1) Hover the cursor on a paron (area) and click + to open the Add window.
2) Enter the zone No. and zone name.
Note
●For encoding devices and third-party devices, you need to add zones for them on the Hik IP
Receiver Pro. Make sure the zone informaon you set are the same with the zone informaon
set on ARC, or the Hik IP Receiver Pro will fail to transmit videos from the zones-linked
channels to ARC.
●For AX Pro, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will automacally get zone informaon and linked channels
congured on the device. So you do not need to add zones for AX Pros on the Hik IP Receiver
Pro.

4. Link channel(s) to zone.
1) Select a zone and click Select Channel to enter the Link Channel page.
Channels of the device are displayed on the right.
Note
●For devices added by Hik-ProConnect, you can only select encoding devices in the same site
with the AX Pro on Hik-ProConnect. For security control panels added by ISUP5.0 protocol,
you can select encoding devices in any site.
●For encoding devices, you can only link their own channels to their zones.
●For third-party devices, you can link channels of devices in any other sites to their zones,
but the third-party devices and the linked channels should share the same ARC.
●For Hik-ProConnect alarm devices, ISUP alarm devices, and third-party devices, you can set
stream keys of linked channels.
2) Check channels to be linked and click Save.
Note
●Up to 4 video channels and 4 I/O channels are supported for zones of an encoding device,
while for zones of other devices, up to 4 video channels are supported.
●You can set mulple zones and click Save to batch link channels to zones.

The linked channels are displayed on the alarm service and zone sengs page.
5. Oponal: Perform the following operaon(s).
Edit Zone Hover the cursor on a zone and click to edit zone name or change the
paron (area) of the zone.
Delete Zone Hover the cursor on a zone and click to delete the zone.
