Chapter 1 Overview
1.1 Introducon
As a protocol converter, the Hik IP Receiver Pro connects devices and ARC (alarm receiving center)
for data transmission, through LAN or WAN.
You can add devices (including AX Pro security control panel, network camera, NVR, and DVR)
managed on the Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro to integrate them to the ARC through
Sur-Gard protocol, Ademco 685 protocol, Manitou protocol, or SBN protocol. Aer correct
conguraons on the Hik IP Receiver Pro and the ARC, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can receive and
transmit alarms and alarm-related videos from devices on the Hik IP Receiver Pro to the ARC for
nocaon and video vericaon.
This manual guides you to congure the Hik IP Receiver Pro. To ensure a proper usage and stability
of the Hik IP Receiver Pro, refer to the contents below and read the manual carefully before
installaon and operaon.
1.2 Running Environment
The following is recommended system requirement for running the Hik IP Receiver Pro.

Microso Windows 10 (64-bit) / Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit) / Windows Server 2016 (64-
bit)
Note
For Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit), the patch KB2999226 is required to be installed.
CPU
Intel Core i5-7500 @ 3.0 GHz, four-core or above
RAM
8 GB or above
NIC
Gigabit-NIC with latest driver

Chapter 2 Installaon
You can install the Hik IP Receiver Pro service to your server or PC, and acvate the service. Then
you can use the service remotely.
2.1 Port Instrucon
Before installing Hik IP Receiver Pro service, ensure the default ports of the Hik IP Receiver Pro are
not used by other services, otherwise the Hik IP Receiver Pro service will be unavailable.
Plaorm Ports
• 80 (TCP) : HTTP port
• 443 (TCP) : HTTPS port
Device Ports
You can edit the device ports if they are conicted with the other ports on your PC.
Port Number Protocol Port Descripon
7661 TCP Used for registering devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by
ISUP5.0 protocol.
7662 TCP Used for sending alarms from ISUP5.0 security control
devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
7091 TCP Used for sending picture and video data from ISUP5.0
security control devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.

2.2 Install Hik IP Receiver Pro
You can install the Hik IP Receiver Pro service on a computer or server. Aer that, you can start the
service, stop the service or exit the service by watchdog.
Steps
1. Right-click the program le and run as the administrator to enter the welcome panel of the
InstallShield Wizard.
2. Click Next to start the InstallShield Wizard.
3. Click Change... and select a proper directory as required to install the service.
4. Click Next to connue.
5. Oponal: Edit the HTTP port if the port number is conict, otherwise the installaon cannot be
connued.
6. Click Install to begin the installaon.
7. Read the post-install informaon and click Finish to complete the installaon.
Result
Aer successful installaon, the Watchdog service will get started and hide in the nocaon area
of the desktop. Right-click and select the opon to stop the service, start the service, or exist
the service.
Note
• If you install Hik IP Receiver Pro remotely, you need to log into the local computer to show the
Watchdog service.
• A window will pop up asking whether to keep the conguraon le when you re-install the Hik IP
Receiver Pro. You can choose to keep it or not.
2.3 Acvate Hik IP Receiver Pro
By default, Hik IP Receiver Pro predened the administrator user named admin. When you log in to
Hik IP Receiver Pro for the rst me, you are required to create a password for the admin user to
acvate Hik IP Receiver Pro before you can properly congure and operate it.
Before You Start
Make sure you have installed the Hik IP Receiver Pro service.
Steps
1. Enter the address of the computer or server running with Hik IP Receiver Pro service and port
number in the address bar of the web browser, and press Enter key.
Note
The default port is 80. For conguring the port number, see Edit Port for details.

Example
If the IP address of the computer running Hik IP Receiver Pro service is 172.6.21.96, and the
port number is 80, and you should enter hp://172.6.21.96:80 in the address bar.
2. Enter the password and conrm password for the admin user in the pop-up Acvate Hik IP
Receiver Pro window.
Note
We highly recommend you change the password of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8
characters, including at least three kinds of following categories: upper case leers, lower case
leers, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product.
3. Click Acvate.
The Hik IP Receiver Pro is acvated. And a nocaon for conguring Hik-ProConnect account
prompts.
4. Click Congure to enter the Hik-ProConnect Conguraon page, and congure Hik-ProConnect
parameters.
Note
If you want to congure the Hik-ProConnect parameters later, click Cancel. You can go to the
Hik-ProConnect Conguraon page to congure the parameters aer logging into the Hik IP
Receiver Pro. See Access Hik-ProConnect .

Chapter 3 Device Management
The Hik IP Receiver Pro can manage mulple device types, e.g. network camera, DVR, NVR, and AX
Pro security control panel. Aer adding devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro and conguring alarm
service and zone, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and videos from these devices to
ARC.
Add Device
You can add Hikvision devices managed in the Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, or add
one or more third-party devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
Enable Receiving Alarm and Set Zone
Aer adding devices to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, you can enable alarm service and add zone for
these devices, and then link channels to zones to transmit videos from linked channels to ARC.
3.1 Add Hikvision Device(s) Managed in Hik-ProConnect
You can add Hikvision devices managed on Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro. Aer adding
the devices to Hik IP Receiver Pro, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms triggered by these
devices to ARC.
Before You Start
Make sure you have accessed the Hik IP Receiver Pro to Hik-ProConnect. See Access Hik-
ProConnect for details.
Steps
Note
This funcon should be supported by device. Devices including AX Pro security control panel, NVR,
DVR, and network camera support this funcon.
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check Hik Device as the Device Type.
Devices managed on Hik-ProConnect are displayed in the Choose Device eld.
3. Check devices and click Next.
4. Enter account ID.
Note
The account ID should contain only 4 digits, and should be the same with the account ID
congured on ARC.
5. Check to-be-added devices and click OK.

The added devices are displayed on the Device page.
6. Oponal: Perform the following operaons if necessary.
Edit Device Click to edit device's account ID.
Delete Device Click to delete a device; or check mulple devices and click
Delete to delete the checked devices.

3.2 Add Single Third-Party Device
You can add a third-party device to the Hik IP Receiver Pro by entering device account ID and
device name.
Steps
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check Third-Party Device as the Device Type.
3. Select Single Adding as the Adding Mode.
4. Enter account ID and device name.
Note
The account ID should contain only 4 digits, and should be the same with the account ID
congured on ARC.
5. Click OK.
6. Oponal: Perform the following operaons if necessary.
Edit Device Click to edit device's account ID and device name.
Delete Device Click to delete a device; or check mulple devices and click
Delete to delete the selected devices.

and Set Zone
See Enable Alarm Service and Set Zone for details.
3.3 Add Third-Party Devices in a Batch
When there are mulple third-party devices to add, you can enter the device informaon in a
predened template and then import it to the Hik IP Receiver Pro to add them in a batch.
Steps
1. On the Device page, click Add to enter the Add Device page.
2. Check Third-Party Device as the Device Type.
3. Select Batch Import as the Adding Mode.
4. Click Export and save the predened template (CSV le) on your PC.

5. Open the exported template le and enter the required informaon of the devices to be added.
Account ID
The account ID should contain only 4 digits, and should be the same with the account ID
congured on ARC.
Device Name
You can custom the device name.
6. Click Import and select the edited template.
7. Click OK to import the device informaon to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
The devices are added to the Hik IP Receiver Pro and displayed on the device list.
8. Oponal: Perform the following operaons if necessary.
Edit Device Click to edit device's account ID and device name.
Delete Device Click to delete a device; or check mulple devices and click
Delete to delete the checked devices.

3.4 Enable Alarm Service and Set Zone
To receive and transmit alarms sent by devices added to Hik IP Receiver Pro, you should enable
alarm service and set zone for them beforehand. For AX Pro with zones and linked channels
already congured on the device conguraon page, the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms
and videos once the alarm service is enabled. For encoding device, only if you have set zones and
linked channels to zones can the Hik IP Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and videos from the linked
channels to ARC for vericaon.
Before You Start
• Make sure you have added at least one device to the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
• If you are going to link channels to devices managed by the Hik-ProConnect, make sure you have
accessed the Hik IP Receiver Pro to Hik-ProConnect. See Access Hik-ProConnect for details.
Steps
1. On the Device page, select a device and click in the Operaon column to enter the alarm
service and zone sengs page.
2. Check Enable Alarm Service to enable alarm service.
Note
• By default, it is enabled.
• If this funcon is disabled, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will not receive or transmit alarms from this
device.

3. Oponal: Click Add Zone to add a zone for the device.
Note
• For encoding devices and third-party devices, you need to add zones for them on the Hik IP
Receiver Pro, and zone No. should be the same with the zone No. congured on ARC.
• For AX Pro, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will automacally get zone informaon and linked
channels congured on the device. So you do not need to add zones for AX Pros on the Hik IP
Receiver Pro.
• Make sure the zone informaon you set are the same with the zone informaon set on ARC,
or the Hik IP Receiver Pro will fail to transmit videos from the zones-linked channels to ARC.
4. Link channels to zone.
1) Select a zone and click Selected Channels to enter the Link Channel page.
2) Select an encoding device on the le.
Channels of the device are displayed on the right.
Note
• You can only select encoding devices in the same site with the AX Pro on Hik-ProConnect.
• For encoding devices, you can only link their own channels to their zones.
• For third-party devices, you can link channels of devices in any other sites to their zones,
but the third-party devices and the linked channels should share the same ARC.
3) Check channels to be linked and click Save.
Note
No more than four channels can be linked to a zone.
The linked channels are displayed on the alarm service and zone sengs page.

Chapter 4 Basic Conguraon
Conguraon module provides basic sengs of the Hik IP Receiver Pro such as accessing Hik-
ProConnect, system sengs, system maintenance, network sengs, and storage sengs.
4.1 Access Hik-ProConnect
Aer accessing the Hik IP Receiver Pro to the Hik-ProConnect, you can add devices managed on the
Hik-ProConnect to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, and the Hik IP Receiver Pro can receive and transmit
alarms and videos from these devices to ARC.
Note
Make sure you have nished the authorizaon for ARC.
Enter the following parameters and click Save to access the Hik IP Receiver Pro to the Hik-
ProConnect.
Hik-ProConnect Address
Enter the address of the Hik-ProConnect. The Hik-ProConnect server locates in Europe, and the
address is hp://ieu.hik-proconnect.com.
User Name (ARC ID)
ARC Soware Provider should apply for it by sending email to Hikvision. See Prepare for ARC
Integraon for details.
Password (ARC Key)
ARC Soware Provider should apply for it by sending email to Hikvision. See Prepare for ARC
Integraon for details.
Connect Status
Connected indicates that the Hik IP Receiver Pro is now accessed to the Hik-ProConnect, and if
devices managed on the Hik-ProConnect are added to the Hik IP Receiver Pro, the Hik IP
Receiver Pro can transmit alarms and videos from these devices to ARC.
Not Connected indicates that the Hik IP Receiver Pro is not accessed to the Hik-ProConnect, and
the Hik IP Receiver Pro will fail to transmit alarms and videos from devices managed on the Hik-
ProConnect to ARC.
4.2 System Sengs
You can set the system parameters, such as changing admin user's password, eding product
name, etc.

4.2.1 Congure Hik IP Receiver Pro Name
You can view the Hik IP Receiver Pro informaon and edit the its name according to the actual
needs.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → System → Informaon .
2. View the gateway informaon, including the version, model, and operang system.
3. Enter a name according to the actual needs.
4. Click Save.
4.2.2 Change Password for Admin User
You can change password for login if you need.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → System → User .
2. Click Change to enter the Change Password page.
3. Enter the old password, password, and conrm password.
4. Click Save.
What to do next
You are required to log in to the Hik IP Receiver Pro service again.
4.2.3 Congure Time
The Hik IP Receiver Pro supports eding the me zone, date, and me for it.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → System → Time .
2. Select a me zone for the computer where the Hik IP Receiver Pro is running. Generally, you
select the me zone where this computer locates.
3. Set the date and me for the Hik IP Receiver Pro.
-Click to select a date and me.
-Check Synchronize with Computer Time to used the current computer's date and me.
4. Click Save.
4.3 System Maintenance
You can enable log and export logs to your local PC.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → Maintenance to enter the System Maintenance page.
2. Check Enable Log.

3. Select the log level.
Note
• Only the logs with the log level higher than the congured level can be recorded.
• The log level is Warning by default. We recommend seng Debug as the log level to make it
easier to nd error details. If you select Debug as the log level, the Hik IP Receiver Pro
performance will be degraded.
4. Click Save to save the sengs.
5. Oponal: Click Export to download logs to your PC.
4.4 Network Sengs
You need to congure network parameters of the Hik IP Receiver Pro correctly to ensure the
normal communicaon.
Various network conguraon services are provided, including port eding, NIC card switching,
Network Address Translaon (NAT) conguraon, and HTTPS cercaon installaon.
4.4.1 Edit Port
Some default ports of the Hik IP Receiver Pro can be edited if they are already used by other
services.
Click Conguraon → Network → Port , edit the plaorm port numbers and device port numbers
and save the port sengs. The port status indicates whether the ports are already occupied.
Normal
The port is not occupied.
Conict
The port is already occupied. You need to enter another port number to avoid communicaon
failures.
Plaorm Port
Click Plaorm Port to edit the following ports used for data transmission from devices to the Hik IP
Receiver Pro.
HTTP Port
Used for web browser access in HTTP protocol. By default, the HTTP Port is 80.
HTTPS Port
By default, the HTTPS Port is 443.

Device Port
Click Device Port to edit the ports used for data transmission from the Hik IP Receiver Pro to
devices.
Note
Restart the Hik IP Receiver Pro aer eding the device port, or the sengs will not take eect.
4.4.2 Set NIC for Hik IP Receiver Pro
For the Hik IP Receiver Pro running on the PC with mulple NICs, you need to select one NIC for
communicaon.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → Network → Access Network to enter the NIC seng page.
2. Click in the IP Address column to switch the NIC.
3. Click Save to save the sengs.
Note
• By default, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will restart automacally aer saving the sengs.
• You should restart the Hik IP Receiver Pro aer eding the IP address of the computer where
the Hik IP Receiver Pro runs.
• If you have edited NIC for the Hik IP Receiver Pro, make sure the server address congured on
the device is the same with the selected NIC.
4.4.3 Set NAT
If port mapping is required, you need to set the parameters of port mapping on a router
beforehand, and then enter the external port number and external IP address on the NAT page.
Click Conguraon → Network → NAT to enter the NAT seng page. Check Enable to enable
Plaorm Port Mapping or Device Port Mapping funcon. Enter the corresponding external ports
and external IP addresses of the Hik IP Receiver Pro and save the sengs.
Plaorm Port Mapping
Used for accessing the Hik IP Receiver Pro by Web browser.
Device Port Mapping
Used for receiving data from ISUP devices. Once it's disabled, the funcon of linking directly or by
Hik-ProConnect Server cannot be used.

• By default, the Hik IP Receiver Pro will restart automacally aer saving the sengs.
4.4.4 Set HTTPS
HTTPS provides authencaon of the web site and its associated web server, which protects
against aacks. For example, if you set the port number as 443 and the IP address is 192.168.1.64,
you may access the device by entering hps://192.168.1.64:443 via a web browser. The Hik IP
Receiver Pro provides three installing methods of HTTPS cercate.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → Network → HTTPS to enter the HTTPS Seng page.
2. Check one of the installaon methods to set HTTPS cercate.
Create self-signed
cercate.
Enter the Country, Domain/IP, Validity and other informaon, and
then click Save.
Note
If you already had a cercate installed, the "Create self-signed
cercate." is grayed out.
Signed cercate is
available, start the
installaon now.
Click Browse to select a signed cercate saved in the PC, and then
click Install.
Create the cercate
request rst and
connue the
installaon.
a. Click Create to create the cercate request. Enter the required
informaon in the pop-up window and click OK to save.
b. Download the cercate request and submit it to the trusted
cercate authority for signature.
c. Aer receiving the signed valid cercate, click Browse to select
the downloaded cercate saved in the PC, and then click
Install.
There will be the cercate informaon aer successfully creang and installing the cercate.
3. Check Enable to enable the installed cercate.
4. Click Save to save the sengs.

Chapter 5 Storage Sengs
Two storage modes are provided: PC disk storage or Recording Server.
•Storage Disk: Alarm-related videos will be stored in the selected disk of your PC, and you can set
the downloading me for the alarm-related videos.
•Recording Server: Aer connecng the Hik IP Receiver Pro to the Recording Server, you can back
up alarm-related videos to the Recording Server by the Hik VideoPlugin. When you need a
second video vericaon for alarm-related details, you can view the video stored in Recording
Server by the Hik VideoPlugin.
5.1 Set Downloading Time and Select Storage Disk for Alarm-Related
Videos
You can set the downloading me of alarm-related videos and select storage disk for the
downloaded videos.
Steps
Note
The videos could not be stored normally with free space less than 200 MB. Please make enough
free space to avoid storage failure. We recommend 50 GB or above.
1. Click Conguraon → Storage → Storage Sengs to enter the Storage Sengs page.
2. Set the me for downloading alarm-related video.
Before Alarm
Take 10 as an example, the Hik IP Receiver Pro starts downloading alarm-related videos 10
seconds before an alarm is triggered. This value ranges from 3 to 100, and is 10 by default.
Aer Alarm
Take 10 as an example, the Hik IP Receiver Pro stops downloading alarm-related videos 10
seconds aer an alarm is triggered. This value ranges from 4 to 100, and is 10 by default.
3. Select a disk to store the les.
4. Click Save to save the sengs.
Note
The videos and pictures will be saved in the default folder for 48 hours, aer which they will be
deleted automacally.

5.2 Set Recording Server for Second Video Vericaon
A Recording Server is used for backing up alarm-related videos from devices added to the Hik IP
Receiver Pro. You can back up an alarm-related video to the Recording Server by the Hik
VideoPlugin. When you need a second video vericaon for alarm-related details, you can view the
video stored in Recording Server by the Hik VideoPlugin.
Before You Start
Make sure you have properly installed, acvated, and congured Recording Server beforehand.
Steps
1. Click Conguraon → Storage → Recording Server to enter the Recording Server page.
2. Congure Recording Server parameters.
Address
Enter the Recording Server's IP address.
Port
Enter the port number of the Recording Server.
User Name
Enter the user name of the Recording Server.
Password
Enter the password of the Recording Server.
Enable WAN Access
If the Recording Server belongs to dierent network domain from the Hik IP Receiver Pro or
the Hik VideoPlugin, enable this funcon to enable mapping between the Recording Server
and the Hik IP Receiver Pro/Hik VideoPlugin.
WAN IP Address
Enter the mapped IP Address of the Recording Server.
WAN Port Number
Enter the mapped port number of the Recording Server.
3. Click Save to connect the Hik IP Receiver Pro to Recording Server.
Connect Status
Connected indicates that the Hik IP Receiver Pro is connected to the Recording Server, and
you can back up alarm-related videos to the Recording Server by the Hik VideoPlugin.
Not Connected indicates that the Hik IP Receiver Pro is not connected to the Recording
Server, and you will fail to back up alarm-related videos to the Recording Server by the Hik
VideoPlugin.
