Der Einbau der Spezial-Versenk-
antenne AUTA 4000 F 457 L
erfolgt bei den angegebenen
Mercedes-Benz-Modellen der
Baureihen W 124 (ab 9.88) und
C 124 in den linken hinteren Kot-
flügel.
Zur Sicherheit Batterie abklemmen.
Im Kofferraum die linksseitige Aus-
kleidung entfernen. Für Kabelver-
legung hintere Sitzbank und -kissen
ausbauen, Fußmatten und linke
Seitenverkleidung vorne entfernen.
An der Einbaustelle die für das
Fahrzeug vorgesehene Bohrscha-
blone anlegen, das Karosserieloch
anzeichnen und maßhaltig einarbei-
ten. Zum Schutz des Lackes vor-
her mit Klebeband abkleben. Die
Bohrung entgraten, zum Schutz
gegen Korrosion die blanke Kante
mit Grundlack bestreichen und
trocknen lassen.
In der Zwischenzeit das Anten-
nenkabel zusammen mit dem
bereits verlegten Leitungssatz
durch die Mehrfachtülle unter die
Rücksitzbank, von dort unter der
linken Einstiegsleiste, im Kabelkanal
bis zum Fahrersitz nach vorne und
von dort zum Empfänger verlegen
und einstecken (Durchziehdraht
verwenden).
Bei starker Belegung des Kabel-
kanals den Fahrersitz komplett
ausbauen (4 Schrauben), die Tritt-
leisten abstemmen, den Boden-
teppich anheben und bei geöffne-
ten kabelkanaldeckeln das Anten-
nenkabel einlegen.
Das Antennenkabel ist geräteseitig
mit einem abwinkelbaren Stecker
versehen. Dadurch kann der
Stecker je nach Bedarf gerade
oder als Winkelstecker verwendet
werden. Das Abbiegen über den
Führungsrücken bitte nur von
Hand durchführen, damit Kabel
und Stecker nicht verletzt werden.
Die Dichttülle von oben in das
Karosserieloch einsetzen. Dies
muß am unteren Einstich der
Dichttülle erfolgen. Der obere Ein-
stich muss gut sichtbar über der
Karosserie liegen.
Den zugehörigen Halter zusam-
menschrauben und über das
Schutzrohr aufschieben.
Das Antennenkabel an der Antenne
festschrauben, den Kugelstutzen
mit etwas Antennenfett bestrei-
chen (AUTA 115) und die Antenne
von unten in die bereits eingesetzte
Dichttülle eindrücken.
Die Antenne mit Halter am
Schutzrohr gegen das vorhandene
Langloch in der Verstrebung
anschrauben.

Teleskop ausziehen, Neigung kon-
trollieren; danach Schrauben am
Halter fest anziehen.
Die Kappe von oben auf die
Dichttülle aufsetzen, leicht nach-
drücken, bis sie einrastet und an
der Karosserieoberfläche gleich-
mäßig anliegt.
Das Masseband an vorhandenem
Loch an der Verstrebung fest-
schrauben, Anlagefläche vorher
blank schaben und einfetten.
Entfernte Auskleidung und Rück-
sitz wieder einbauen.
Batterie wieder anklemmen.
Das Teleskop ist mit einem Stülp-
knopf ausgerüstet und kann von
Hand gegriffen und ausgezogen
werden. Mit abgenommenem
Stülpknopf kann das Teleskop
vollständig versenkt und nur mit
dem Schlüssel ausgezogen werden.
Achten Sie bitte darauf, daß nach
dem Einbau der Antenne der
Empfänger nachgetrimmt wird.
Am Antenneneingang des Gerätes
ist ein von außen bedienbarer Trim-
mer eingebaut. Bei ganz ausgezo-
gener Antenne einen schwach
einfallenden Sender im Mittelwel-
lenbereich (ca.1100 kHz bzw.
nach Angaben des Geräteherstel-
lers) einstellen und mit dem Anten-
nentrimmer größte Lautstärke ein-
stellen.
Reinigen Sie Ihre Antenne von Zeit
zu Zeit von anhaftendem Straßen-
staub. Verwenden Sie nur ganz
wenig von unserem Spezialfett in
Tuben AUTA 235, oder benutzen
Sie unser Autoantennen-Pfle-
getüchlein AUTA 135, das gleich-
zeitig reinigt und fettet.
Ersatzteile bitte unter den angege-
benen Nummern bestellen.

Installation of the retractable
antenna AUTA 4000 F 457 L is
appointed left-side in the rear
wing of the stated Mercedes-Benz
types of series W 124 (since 9.88)
and C 124.
Disconnect battery for safety.
Remove left-side lining in the lug-
gage-boot. For cable laying detach
back seat, floor mats and left-side
lining in the front.
Apply the appropriate drilling tem-
plate, mark the hole place and drill
properly. Before drilling cover the
paintwork with adhesive tape for
protecting. Remove the burr,
spread the bare edge with primer
to protect against corrosion and
allow to dry.
In the meantime pass the antenna
cable together with the already
installed cable set through the
multiple grommet under the back
seat and then inside the cable
duct below the left threshold to
the drivers seat, from there to the
receiver and plug-in (use a draw
wire).
If the cable duct is nearly fullfilled
and cable pushing is, therefore,
impossible, remove completely the
drivers seat (4 screws), lever up to
the edge covers, lift the floor carpet
and the duct covers and lay the
cable.
At the radio end the antenna
cable is fitted with a plug that can
be angled, if required. Please
bend the plug only by hand to
avoid any damage of cable or
plug.
Insert the sealing sleeve from top
into the car body hole. Make sure
that the lower recess of the sleeve
fits to the body. The upper recess
should be clearly visible above the
car body.
Assemble the suitable bracket and
slide upon the protective tube.
Tighten the antenna cable to the
antenna case, spread the spherical
antenna head with some special
grease (AUTA 115) and push the
antenna from below through the
sleeve inserted before. Fix the
antenna with the bracket at the
protective tube to the existing
oblong hole in the car body bar.
Extend the telescope, check the
angle, then tighten the screws at
the bracket.

Apply the cap on top of the sleeve,
press slightly until it will snap-on
and fits tightly to the car body sur-
face.
Fix the earthing tape to the exi-
sting hole at the brace. Previously
bare the connecting surface and
spread with grease.
Replace lining int the luggage-
boot and back seat.
Reconnect battery.
On top the telescope is provided
with a plastic knob which allows
extending the antenna by hand. If
this knob is detached, the telesco-
pe can be fully retracted and then
only be extended by a special key.
Please make sure that the radio will
be tuned again after the antenna
has been installed. On the antenna
input of the receiver there is an
incorporated trimmer that can be
operated from outside.
With antenna fully extended select
a weak station in the medium wave
band (approx. 1100 kHz or acc. to
the instructions of the manufacturer
of the radio) and set the maximum
volume by means of the trimmer.
From time to time, clean the teles-
cope of adhering road dust. Use
only a little of our special aerial
grease AUTA 235, supplied in
tubes, or our car aerial tissue
AUTA 135 for both, cleaning and
greasing.
Please state order numbers when
ordering spare parts.

L'installation de l'antenne esca-
motable AUTA 4000 F 457 L se
fait sur les modèles indiqués de
Mercedes-Benz des séries W 124
(à partir de 9.88) et C 124 sur l'aile
arrière gauche.
Pour des raisons de sécurité,
débrancher la batterie.
Eloigner le revêtement du côté
gauche du coffre. Démonter la
banquette et le coussin arrière,
ainsi que les moquettes et le revê-
tement latéral gauche à l'avant
pour la pose des câbles.
Placer le gabarit de perçage qui
va avec le modèle correspondant
à l'endroit de montage, marquer
le trou de perçage sur la carrosse-
rie et percer peécisement. Aupa-
ravant, coller un ruban adhésif
pour protéger la laque. Supprimer
les bavures du perçage, enduire le
bord nu de laque de base comme
protection contre la corrosion et
laisser sécher.
Entre-temps, poser le câble d'an-
tenne avec le jeu de câble déjà
mis par le passe-câble multiple
sous la banquette arrière, de là
au-dessous du marchepied gau-
che, dans le caniveau de câbles
jusqu'au siège du conducteur et de
là au récepteur et enficher (utiliser
un passe-fil).
Si dans le caniveau il se trouve un
grand numéro de câbles, démonter
complètement le siège du conduc-
teur (4 vis), ôter les marchepieds
avec un fermoire, soulever le tapis
de fond et placer le câble d'anten-
ne dans le caniveau, dont les cou-
vercles sont ouverts.
Le câble d'antenne est pourvu sur
le côté de l'appareil d'une conne-
xion à fiches pliable. De ce fait, le
connecteur peut être utilisé si
besoin est, droite ou comme fiche
coudée. Ne la tordre que manu-
ellement par dessus le tube con-
ducteur, afin que le câble et la
prise ne soient pas endommagés.
Placer le manchon étanche d'en
haut dans le perçage de la carros-
serie, c'est-à-dire à l'entaille
inférieure du manchon. L'entaille
supérieure doit être bien visible
au-dessus de la carrosserie.
Visser le support correspondant et
tirer sur le tube protecteur.
Visser à fond le câble d'antenne à
l'antenne, enduire d'un peu de
graisse la rallonge à bille (AUTA 115)
et appuyer l'antenne du dessous
dans le manchon étanche déjà
posé. Visser l'antenne avec le sup-
port au tube protecteur contre le
trou oval existant dans l'entretoise.

Sortir le télescope, contrôler l'incli-
naison; ensuite serrer à fond les
vis au support.
Mettre le capuchon d'en haut sur la
manchon étanche, appuyer légère-
ment, jusqu'à ce qu'il s'encliquette
et j'usqu'à ce qu'il se trouve à fleur
de la surface de la carrosserie.
Visser à fond la bande de mise à
la masse au trou existant à l'en-
tretoise, commencer par gratter à
nu la surface de base et graisser.
Remettre les revêtements
démontés et la banquette arrière.
Connecter la batterie.
Le télescope est pourvu d'un
bouton plastique et peut être saisi
et sorti à main. Le télescope peut
être complètement noyé avec le
bouton plastique enlevé et être sorti
seulement avec la clé.
Veuillez faire attention à ce que le
récepteur soit réadapté, après la
pose de l'antenne. A l'entrée de
l'antenne de l'appareil, il est
monté un condensateur de com-
pensation réglable de l'extérieur.
Lorsque l'antenne est entièrement
sorti, choisir un émetteur reçu fai-
blement dans les ondes moyen-
nes (env. 1100 kHz resp. selon
données du constructeur) et régler
à puissance maximum du son
avec le condensateur d'antenne.
De temps en temps, veuillez
débarrasser votre antenne des
poussières adhérentes.
N'utilisez que très peu notre graisse
spéciale en tube AUTA 235 ou
notre essuie-antenne AUTA 135
qui nettoie et graisse en même
temps.
Veuillez commander les pièces
détachées sous les numéros indi-
qués.
