Thisplug will fit in a polarizedoutlet only oneway. Ifthe plugdoes

otherwise the workpiecemight bethrust from the table andcause

10. During miter or bevel cutting, alwayswait for the rotation of the
bladeto stopcompletely beforelifting the saw blade.
11. Alwaysmakeatrial run first beforeattempting anynew useof the
saw.
12. Always handle the saw blade with carewhen dismounting and
mounting it.
13. Always confirm that the workpiece isfree of nails or other foreign
objectsbeforebeginning acut.

USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD
Makesureyour extension cord is ingood condition. When using an extensioncord, be sureto use one heavy enough to carry the current your
productwill draw.An undersizedcordwill causeadrop in line voltageresulting in lossofpowerand overheating.Tableshowsthe correctsizeto use
dependingon cord length and nameplateampererating. Ifin doubt, usethe next heaviergage.Thesmallerthe gagenumber, the heavierthe cord.

DOUBLE INSULATION FOR SAFER OPERATION
To ensure saferoperation of this power tool, HITACHIhas adopted a double insulation design. "Double insulation" meansthat two physically
separatedinsulationsystems havebeenusedto insulatethe electrically conductivematerialsconnectedto the powersupply from the outer frame
handledby the operator.Therefore,eitherthe symbol "rs]" or the words and"Double insulation" appearonthe powertool or on the nameplate.
Although this system hasno external grounding, you must still follow the normal electricalsafety precautions given in this Instruction Manual,
including not usingthe power tool inwet environments.

Bolt length should be at least 1-3/8" (35mm) plus the thickness of
the work bench.
For example, use 2-11/32" (60ram) or larger bolts for a 1" (25ram)
thick work bench.
The holder attached to the rear of the base helps stabilize the power
tool.

and adjustthe holder (B)until its bottom surfacecontactsthe work
benchsurface.Afteradjustments,securelytighten the6mmboltwith

easilyoperated.

BEFORE USING

Usingthe supplied 10mm boxwrench,tighten the bolt on the saw
bladespindleto securethe saw blade.

5. Checkthe lowerguard for proper operation.
Lowerguard is designedto protectthe operator from coming into
contactwith the saw bladeduring operation ofthe tool.
Always checkthat the lower guard movessmoothly andcoversthe
saw bladeproperly.

6. Confirmthe positionofthe spindle lockbeforeusing thetool.
After installingthe sawblade,confirm thatthespindle lockhasbeen
returnedtothe retractpositionbeforeusingthe powertool (seeFig.
33-b).
7. Checkthe PowerReceptacle.
To prevent overheating, accidental stopping or intermittent
operation, confirm that the power cord plug fits properly in the
electricalreceptacleand doesnotfall out after it isinserted.Repair
or replacethe receptacleif it isfaulty.
8. Confirmthe tool's powercordis not damaged.
Repairor replacethe powercord if aninspection indicatesthat it is
damaged.

9. Trial Run
Afterconfirming thatnoone isstanding behind,the powertool start
andconfirm that nooperatingabnormalitiesexist beforeattempting

10. Inspectthe rotating stability ofthe saw blade.
Forprecisecutting, rotatethe saw bladeand checkfor deflection to
confirmthatthebladeisnotnoticeablyunstable;otherwisevibrations
might occurand causean accident.
