tain a special radio interference filter, the re-
moval of which co ld lead to impaired perfor-
mance. If yo wish to extend the lead, obtain
an appropriate safety approved extension

Install Display on solid horizontal s rface
s ch as a table or desk.
For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10
cm free all aro nd the set. To prevent any
fa lt and nsafe sit ations, please do not
place any objects on top of the set.

forms to either ASTA or BSI (BS1 362) ap-
provals, these are easily identifiable by either
the or symbols. If yo are in any
do bt abo t the installation of an extension
lead, please cons lt a competent electrician.
DONTs
DONT contin e to operate the eq ipment if
yo are in any do bt abo t it working nor-
mally, or if it is damaged in any way switch
off, withdraw the mains pl g and cons lt yo r
dealer.
DONT place water filled vessels on top of
T.V. cabinets.
DONT remove any fixed cover as this may
expose dangero s voltages.
DONT leave eq ipment switched on when it
is nattended nless it is specifically stated
that it is designed for nattended operation or
has a stand-by mode. Switch off sing the
switch on the eq ipment and make s re yo r
family know how to do this. Special arrange-
ments may need to be made for infirm or
handicapped people.
DONT se eq ipment s ch as personal ste-
reos or radios so that yo are distracted from
the req irements of traffic safety. It is illegal
to watch television whilst driving.
DONT obstr ct the ventilation of the eq ip-
ment, for example with c rtains or soft f r-
nishings. Overheating will ca se damage
and shorten the life of the eq ipment.
DONT se makeshift stands and NEVER fix
legs or stands to the TV with any screws
other than those provided - to ens re com-
plete safety always se the man fact rers
approved stand with the fixings provided.
DONT allow electrical eq ipment to be ex-
posed to rain or moist re.

 NEVER let anyone, especially children
push anything into holes, slots or any
other opening in the case - this could re-
sult in a fatal electric shock.
 NEVER guess or take chances with elec-
trical equipment of any kind - it is better to
be safe than sorry
1. Power
 Always se the provided AC adaptor.
 Operate only from the power so rce specified
on the AC adaptor.
 In sing, the AC adaptor gets heat on the s r-
face of the case. It is normal, not defective.
 Do not cover the case of AC adaptor with any
material while it is in operation. Leave 15 cm
space (minim m) aro nd the AC adaptor.
 The rating information and safety ca tion of
the AC adaptor are on its case.
Warning: When the device is not in se for a
long time, disconnect from power.
2.Power ord
Do not place the set, a piece of t rnit re, etc.
on the power cord (mains lead) or pinch the
cord. Handle the power cord by the pl g Do
not p ll o t the pl g by t gging the cord and
never to ch the power cord when yo r hands
are wet as this co ld ca se a short circ it or
electric shock Never make a knot in the cord
or tie it with other cords. The power cords
sho ld be placed in s ch a way that they are
not likely to be stepped on A damaged power
cord can ca se fire or give yo an electric
shock. When it is damaged and need to be
changed, it sho ld be done by q alified per-
sonnel.
3. Moisture and Water
Do not se this eq ipment in a h mid and
damp place (avoid the bathroom, the sink in
the kitchen, and near the washing machine).
Do not expose this eq ipment to rain or wa-
ter, as this may be dangero s and do not
place objects filled with liq ids, s ch as
flower vases, on top of the set.Avoid from
dripping or splashing. If any solid object or
liq id falls into the cabinet, npl g the set
and have it checked by q alified personnel
before operating it any f rther.
4. leaning
Before cleaning, npl g the adaptor from the
wall o tlet. Do not se liq id or aerosol
cleaners. Use soft and dry cloth.

5. Ventilation
The slots and openings on the back cover
are intended for ventilation and to ens re reli-
able operation. To prevent overheating,
these openings m st not be blocked or cov-
ered in anyway.
6. Heat and Flames
The set sho ld not be placed near to naked
flames and so rces of intense heat, s ch as
an electric heater. Ens re that no naked
flame so rces, s ch as lighted candles, are
placed on top of the set.
7. Lightning
In case of storm and lightning or when going
on holiday, disconnect the power cord from
the wall o tlet.
8. Replacement Parts
When replacement parts are req ired, be s re
the service technician has sed replacement
parts which are specified by the man fact rer
or have the same specifications as the original
one. Una thorised s bstit tions may res lt in
fire, electrical shock, or other hazards.
9. Servicing
Please refer all servicing to q alified person-
nel. Do not remove the cover yo rself as this
may res lt in an electric shock.
Instructions for waste disposal:
 Packaging and packaging aids are recyclable
and should principally be recycled. Packag-
ing materials, such as foil bag, must be kept
away from children.
 Battery, including those which is heavy metal-
free, should not be disposed of with house-
hold waste. Please dispose of used battery in
an environmentally sound manner. Find out
about the legal regulations which apply in
your area.
The mains plug of the power supply is
used as disconnect device and therefore
shall remain readily operable.
Warning: To prevent inj ry, this device m st

cordance with the installation instr ctions.

"The LCD panel is very high technology
product with about a million thin film tran-
sistors, giving you fine picture details. Oc-
casionally, a few non-active pixels may
appear on the screen as a fixed point of
blue, green or red. Please note that this
does not affect the performance of your
product."
 Cold cathode fluoresant lamp in CD PANE
contains a small amount of mercury, please
follow local ordinates or regulations for dis-
posal.
Securely connect
the ground wire.
Be sure to ground the connection properly.
Connect the gro nd terminal of the AC adaptor with the gro nd terminal
provided at the power o tlet sing the enclosed power cord. If the provided
pl g does not fit yo r o tlet, cons lt an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete o tlet.

Before Switching On Your

IMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to op-
erate on 12 V DC. For this, an adaptor is
used which gives 12V DC voltage. Con-
nect this adaptor to a system that sup-
plies 240 V AC, 50 Hz.
 After npacking, allow the TV set to reach the
ambient room temperat re before yo con-
nect the set to the mains.

Please see P20 for f rther details of connec-
tions.
 Connect the aerial or cable TV pl g to the
aerial socket located at the rear of the TV
and connect the cable pl g coming o t from
the TV o t socket located on the devices
(VCR, DVB-T etc.) to this socket as well.
How To onnect Other Devices
IMPORTANT: Switch off the TV before con-
necting any external device.
Sockets for external connections are at the
rear side of the TV. For connection of other
devices via SCART refer to the man als of
the related devices.
Inserting Batteries In The Remote
ontrol Handset
 Remove the battery cover located on the
back of the handset by gently p lling p-
wards from the indicated part.
 Insert two AAA (R03) or eq ivalent type of
batteries inside.
 Replace the battery cover.
NOTE: Remove the batteries from remote
control handset when it is not to be used for
a long period.Otherwise it can be damaged
due to any leakage of batteries.
Switching The TV ON/OFF
To switch the TV on:
Yo r TV will switch on in two steps:
1- Connect the power s pply cord to the sys-
tem. Press the   b tton on the right side of
the TV. Then the TV switches itself to stand-
by mode and the led becomes red located on
the front of the TV.
2- To switch on the TV from stand-by mode ei-
ther:
Press a digit b tton on the remote control so
that a programme n mber is selected,
or,
Press the -P/CH or P/CH+b tton on the
right side of the TV or press the -P/CH or
P/CH+ b tton on the remote control, so that
the last programme switched off is selected.

Either way the TV will switch on and the LED
becomes green.
To switch the TV off:
 Press the   b tton on the remote control,
so the TV will switch to stand-by mode and
the GREEN LED will become RED,
or,
 Press the   b tton located on the right
side of the TV, so the TV will switch off and
the GREEN LED will t rn off.
NOTE: To switch the TV off completely re-
move the mains pl g from the socket.
Operating The TV
Yo can operate yo r TV sing both the re-
mote control handset and onset b ttons.
Initial A.P.S. (Automatic
Programming System)
The following men will be displayed on the
screen when yo t rn on yo r TV for the first
time. A.P.S., searches and sorts all channels
and stores them a tomatically on yo r TV,
according to the transmission of programme
systems in yo r area.

b ttons. This, will effect the sort process in
A.P.S. To start aps, select A.P.S. by sing

After A.P.S. is finalized, Program Table will
be displayed on the screen. In the Program
Table yo will see the programme n mbers
and names assigned to the programmes.
Operating with the buttons on the
TV set
Vol me setting and programme selection
can be made by sing the b ttons at the con-
trol panel on the right side of the TV.
Volume Setting
Press the -  b tton to decrease vol me
or the  + b tton to increase vol me, so
a vol me level scale (slider) will be displayed
on the screen.
Programme Selecting
Press the P/CH + b tton to select the next
programme or the - P/CH b tton to select
the previo s programme.
Entering Main Menu
Press MENU b tton to enter Main men . In
the Main men select s bmen sing
- P/CH or P/CH + b tton and enter the
s b-men sing -  or  + b tton.

AV Mode
Press the TV / AV b tton at the control
panel on the right side of the TV to switch
yo r TV to AV modes.
Operating With Remote ontrol
The remote control handset of yo r TV is de-
signed to control all the f nctions of the
model yo selected. The f nctions will be de-
scribed in accordance with the men system
of yo r TV.
F nctions of the men system are described
in Men System section.
Volume Setting
Press the  + b tton to increase vol me.
Press the -  b tton to decrease vol me.
A vol me level scale (slider) will be displayed
on the screen.

Programme Selecting
(Previo s or next programme)
 Press the - P/CH b tton to select the previ-
o s programme.
 Press the P/CH + b tton to select the next
programme.
Programme Selecting (direct access):
Press digit b ttons on the remote control
handset to select programmes between 0
and 9. The TV will switch to the selected
programme after a short delay.
 For a two digit program n mber enter the
second digit after pressing the first digit within
2 seconds.

Yo r TV has been designed with a men
system to provide easy operation of all of the
f nctions. Press the M (MENU) b tton to
enter the men . The M b tton has two
f nctions; opening or closing the men and
closing the s bmen and then opening its
parent men .
Press   /   b tton to select a men title
and then   /   b tton to select a men
item and  /   b tton to enter the men
item. To exit a men press the M b tton.

filter
By pressing   /   b tton, select filter.
Press   /   b tton to change filter setting
to normal, sharp or sharpest. This f nction
allows ser to choose the level of image
sharpness that changes the details of pict re
display.

sion).

vate it or off to deactivate it.

lock. The child lock feat re can be set to ei-
ther on or off by pressing   or   b tton.
When off is selected, there will be no differ-
ence in the operation of yo r TV. When on is
selected, the TV can only be controlled by
the remote control handset. In this case, the
side panel b ttons on the TV (except the On/
Off switch) will not work.

Here yo can adj st the channel order by
moving or deleting the channels.
First of all press the   b tton.
Using the GREEN b tton yo can move a
programme into another programmes loca-
tion. Press the direction b ttons to select a
programme and press the GREEN b tton.
Then select another programme and press
the GREEN b tton again. The first selected
programme moves into the location of the
second selected programme.
Using the RED b tton yo can delete any
programme yo want.

Previous Programme
 Pressing "P<P" (Previo s Programme) b t-
ton consec tively allows to swap between
the last two programmes.
For example, select programme 8, then select
programme 2. Now, if yo press the P<P
b tton, programme 8 will be displayed. If yo
press the same b tton again, programme 2
will be displayed and so on.
Sound Indicator
I-II b tton is sed to select Mono, Stereo,
Dual I or Dual II.

AV Modes
By pressing the   b tton, yo can switch
yo r TV to AV modes (except being in Tele-
text). Pressing this b tton consec tively will
switch the TV in one of the optional AV
modes: AV1, RGB1, AV2 and SVHS.
RGB1 mode is s pported from AV1.
In order to q it the AV mode press the  ,
the digit b ttons or the -P/CH or P/CH+.
Teletext
Teletext is an information system that dis-
plays text on yo r TV screen. Using the Tele-
text information system yo can view a page
of information on a s bject that is available in
the list of contents (index).
On screen display is not available in text
mode.
Contrast, brightness or colo r control is not
available, b t vol me control is available in
text mode.
To Operate Teletext
 Select a TV station where Teletext is being
transmitted.
 Press the   b tton. Us ally the list of con-
tents (index) are displayed on the screen.

To Select A Page Of Teletext
 Press the appropriate digit b ttons for the re-
q ired Teletext page n mber.
The selected page n mber is displayed in
the top left corner of the screen. The Teletext
page co nter searches ntil the selected
page n mber is located, the desired page is
then displayed on the screen.
 Press the P/CH + b tton to move the Tele-
text screen forward one page at a time.
 Press the - P/CH b tton to move the Tele-
text screen backward one page at a time.
To Select Index Page
 To select the page n mber of the index (gen-
erally page 100), press the   b tton.
To Select Teletext With A TV
Programme
 Press the   b tton. The text is now s per-
imposed over the programme on the screen.
 Press the   b tton again to ret rn to the
Teletext page.
To Select Double Height Text
 Press the   b tton for the top half of the
information page to be displayed in do ble
height text.
 Press the   b tton again for the bottom
half of the information page to be displayed
in do ble height text.

page of normal height text.
To Reveal  oncealed Information
 Pressing the   b tton once will reveal an-
swers on a q iz or games page.
 Pressing the   b tton again will conceal
the revealed answers.
To Stop Automatic Page hange
The teletext page yo have selected may
contain more information than what is on the
screen; the rest of the information will be dis-
played after a period of time.
 Press the   b tton to stop the a tomatic
page change.
 Press the   b tton again to allow the next
page to be displayed.
To Select A Subcode Page
S bcode pages are s bsections of long Tele-
text pages that can only be displayed on the
screen one section at a time.
 Select the req ired Teletext page.
 Press the   b tton.
 Select the req ired s bcode page n mber by
pressing fo r digit b ttons (e.g. 0001).
 If the selected s bcode page is not displayed
in a short time, press the   b tton. TV
programme will be displayed on the screen.
 Teletext page n mber will be displayed on the
pper left corner of the screen when the se-
lected page is fo nd.
 Press the   b tton to display the selected
Teletext page.

Fastext
Yo r TV s pports the Fastext Teletext system.
When the page n mber of any of the pages in
memory is entered, the system will not search
for the req ested page; instead it will display
the page a tomatically.
 Press the P/CH+ b tton to move the Tele-
text screen forward one page at a time.
 Press the -P/CH b tton to move the Teletext
screen backward one page at a time.
For Fastext
The s bject-heading for the information may
have a partic lar color.
 Press an appropriate RED, GREEN, YEL-
LOW or BLUE b tton in order to reach the
relevant page q ickly.
To Exit Teletext
 Press the 

To Display The Time
 While watching a TV programme with Tele-
text transmission press the   b tton. The
c rrent time information, capt red from Tele-
text will be displayed on the screen.
 If the programme being watched does not
have Teletext transmission, no information

 Time information is displayed on the screen
for 10 seconds. If yo want to cancel the dis-
play, press the " " b tton.
Connect Peripheral
Equipment
There is a wide range of a dio and video
eq ipment that can be connected to yo r TV.
The following connection diagrams show yo
where the different (optional) eq ipment
sho ld be connected at the rear side of the
TV.
Via The S ART
Yo r TV has one Scart socket. If yo want to
connect peripherals (e.g. video, decoder,
etc.) which have Scarts to the TV, se Scart
inp t.
If an external device is connected via the
Scart socket, the TV will be switched to AV
mode a tomatically. If the external device is
connected to SCART inp t and the signal is
RGB, select RGB1 by pressing the   b t-
ton.
Via Aerial Input
If yo want to connect to yo r TV, peripher-
als like video recorders or decoders, b t the
device yo want to connect does not have
Scart, yo sho ld connect it to the Aerial in-
p t of the TV.
If the VCR is connected via aerial input it
is suggested that you use Programme 0.
Decoder
Cable TV offers yo a wide choice of pro-
grams. Most of them are free, others are to
be paid for by the viewer. This means that
yo will need to s bscribe to the broadcast-
ing organisation whose programmes yo
wish to receive. This organisation will s pply
yo a corresponding decoder nit to allow
the programmes to be nscrambled.

to the TV
 Connect the aerial cable.

 Connect the decoder to the TV with a SCART
lead to SCART input.
TV And Video Recorder
 Connect the aerial cables.
Better pict re q ality can be obtained if yo
also connect a SCART lead to SCART
socket.
Playback NTS
To se this option yo can;
 Connect an NTSC VCR player to Scart at the
rear side of the TV.
 Connect an NTSC VCR player to RCA Jacks
at the rear side of the TV.

Search For And Store The Test
Signal Of The Video Recorder
 Unpl g the aerial cable from the aerial socket
Aerial of yo r video recorder.
 Switch on yo r TV and p t the video recorder
on the test signal. (See the booklet for yo r
video recorder.)
 Enter the Installation men in settings
men . Enter the Programming men in In-
stallation men and select manual search.
 Search for the test signal of yo r video re-
corder in the same way as yo searched for
and stored the TV signals. Store the test sig-
nal nder programme n mber 0.
 Replace the aerial cable in the aerial socket

have stored the test signal.

To onnect To AV-2 Input
Connect yo r camera or camcorder to AV-2
inp t at the rear side of the TV.
 Connect yo r eq ipment to the TV via VIDEO
(yellow), AUDIO R (red) and AUDIO L (white)
inp ts. Yo m st connect the jacks to the in-
p t sing the same color.
To onnect To S-VHS Input
Connect yo r camera or camcorder S-VHS
inp t at the rear side of the TV.
 Connect yo r eq ipment to the TV via S-VHS
inp t and a dio inp ts of AV-2 inp ts by sing
S-VHS cables.
onnect The Decoder To The Video
Recorder
Some video recorders have a special
SCART socket for decoder.
 Connect a SCART lead to the SCART socket
of yo r decoder and to the special SCART
socket of yo r video recorder. Refer to the
booklet of yo r video recorder.
 To connect yo r video recorder to the TV, re-
fer to the TV and Video Recorder section.
If yo want to connect more eq ipments to
yo r TV, cons lt yo r dealer.
onnecting Headphones
Use the stereo headphone socket at the right
side of the TV (from front view) to connect
headphones.
