Preparation
For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10
cm free all aro nd the set. To prevent any
fa lt and nsafe sit ations, please do not
place any objects on top of the set.
Use this apparat s in tropical and/or moder-
ate climates.

taken if yo are to obtain the best res lts and
safety is to be ass red.
DO read the operating instr ctions before yo
attempt to se the eq ipment.
DO cons lt yo r dealer if yo are in any do bt
abo t installation, operation or safety of yo r
eq ipment.
DO be caref l with glass panels or doors on
eq ipment.
This TV is s pplied with a fitted mains pl g.
This pl g m st not be c t off as it may contain
a special radio interference filter, the removal
of which co ld lead to impaired performance.
If yo wish to extend the lead, obtain an appro-
priate safety approved extension lead or con-
s lt yo r dealer.
Observe the man fact rers instr ctions when
connecting extension leads to the TV. Check
the f se rating on the new pl g, this sho ld be
fitted with a 5 Amp f se which conforms to ei-
ther ASTA or BSI (BS1 362) approvals, these

symbols. If yo are in any do bt abo t the in-
stallation of an extension lead, please cons lt
a competent electrician.
DONTs
DONT contin e to operate the eq ipment if
yo are in any do bt abo t it working normally,
or if it is damaged in any way switch off, with-
draw the mains pl g and cons lt yo r dealer.
DONT place water filled vessels on top of T.V.
cabinets.
DONT remove any fixed cover as this may ex-
pose dangero s voltages.
DONT leave eq ipment switched on when it is
nattended nless it is specifically stated that
it is designed for nattended operation or has
a stand-by mode. Switch off sing the switch
on the eq ipment and make s re yo r family
know how to do this. Special arrangements
may need to be made for infirm or handi-
capped people.
DONT se eq ipment s ch as personal ste-
reos or radios so that yo are distracted from
the req irements of traffic safety. It is illegal to
watch television whilst driving.
DONT obstr ct the ventilation of the eq ipment,
for example with c rtains or soft f rnishings.
Overheating will ca se damage and shorten
the life of the eq ipment.

legs or stands to the TV with any screws other

1. Power Sour e
The set sho ld be operated only from a 220-
2 0V AC, 50 Hz. o tlet. Ens re yo select
the correct voltage setting for yo r conve-
nience.
2. Power Cord
Do not place the set, a piece of f rnit re,etc.
on the power cord(mains lead) or pinch the
cord.Handle the power cord by the pl g.Do
not p ll o t the pl g by t gging the cord and
never to ch the power cord when yo r
hands are wet as this co ld ca se a short
circ it or electric shock.Never make a knot in
the cord or tie it with other cord.The power
cord sho ld be placed in s ch a way that
they are not likely to be stepped on.
A damaged power cord can ca se fire or
give yo an electric shock. When it is dam-
aged and need to be changed, it sho ld be
done by q alified personel.
3. Moisture and Water
Do not se this eq ipment in a h mid and
damp place (avoid the bathroom, the sink in
the kitchen, and near the washing machine).
Do not expose this eq ipment to rain or wa-
ter, as this may be dangero s and do not
place objects filled with liq ids,s ch as
flower vases on top of the set. Avoid from
dripping or splashing.
If any solid object or liq id falls into the cabi-
net, npl g the set and have it checked by
q alified personnel before operating it any
f rther.
4. Cleaning
Before cleaning, npl g the set from the wall
o tlet. Do not se liq id or aerosol cleaners.
Use soft and dry cloth.
5. Ventilation
The slots and openings on the back cover
are intended for ventilation and to ens re re-
liable operation. To prevent overheating,
these openings m st not be blocked or cov-
ered in anyway.

"The LCD panel is very high technology
product with about a million thin film tran-
sistors, giving you fine picture details. Oc-
casionally, a few non-active pixels may ap-
pear on the screen as a fixed point of blue,
green or red. Please note that this does
not affect the performance of your prod-
uct."

6.Heat and Flames
The set sho ld not be placed near to naked
flames and so rces of intense heat,s ch as
an electric heater. Ens re that no naked
flame so rces, s ch as lighted candles, are
placed on top of the set.
7. Lightning
In case of storm and lightning or when go-
ing on holiday, disconnect the power cord
from the wall o tlet.
8. Repla ement Part
When replacement parts are req ired, be s re
the service technician has sed replacement
parts which are specified by the man fact rer
or have the same specifications as the origi-
nal one. Una thorised s bstit tions may re-
s lt in fire, electrical shock, or other hazards.
9 . Servi ing
Please refer all servicing to q alified per-
sonnel. Do not remove the cover yo rself as
this may res lt in an electric shock.
WARNING: When the device is not in use
for a long time, disconnect from power.
Instructions for waste disposal:
 Packaging and packaging aids are recy-
clable and should principally be recycled.
Packaging materials, such as foil bag, must
be kept away from children.
 Battery, including those which is heavy
metal-free, should not be disposed of with
household waste. Please dispose of used
battery in an environmentally sound man-
ner. ind out about the legal regulations
which apply in your area.
 Cold cathode fluoresant lamp in LCD PANEL
contains a small amount of mercury, please
follow local ordinates or regulations for dis-
posal.
 The mains plug is used to disconnect the TV
from the mains and therefore it shall remain
readily operable.
Warning: To prevent injury, this device must
be securely attached to the floor/wall in ac-
cordance with the installation instrutions.
Be sure to ground the connection properly.
Connect the gro nd terminal of TV with the gro nd terminal provided
at the power o tlet sing the enclosed power cord. If theprovided pl g
does not fit yo r o tlet, cons lt an electrician for replacement
of the obsolete o tlet.

Before Switching On Your TV
Power Conne tion
IMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to op-
erate on 220-2 0V AC, 50 Hz.
 After npacking, allow the TV set to reach the
ambient room temperat re before yo con-
nect the set to the mains.
Conne tions To The Aerial Input
So ket
 Connect the aerial or cable TV pl g to the
Aerial inp t socket located at the rear of the
TV and connect the cable pl g coming o t
from the TV o t socket located on the devices
(VCR, DVB-T etc.) to this socket as well.
How To Conne t Other Devi es
IMPORTANT: Switch off the TV before con-
necting any external device.
Sockets for external connections are at the
rear side of the TV. For connection of other
devices via Scart refer to the man als of the
related devices.
Inserting Batteries In The Remote
Control Handset
 Remove the battery cover located on the
back of the handset by gently p lling down-
wards from the indicated part.
 Insert two AA/R6 or eq ivalent type batteries
inside. Place the batteries in the right direc-
tions.
 Replace the battery cover.
NOTE: Remove the batteries from remote
control handset when it is not to be used for
a long period.Otherwise it can be damaged
due to any leakage of batteries.
Switching The TV O /OFF
To swit h the TV on:
Yo r TV will switch on in two steps:
1- Connect the power s pply cord to the sys-
tem. Press Power On/Off switch  located
by the mains inp t socket. Then the TV
switches itself to stand-by mode and the led
on the front of the TV becomes Red.
2- To switch on the TV from stand-by mode
either:
Press a digit b tton on the remote control so
that a programme n mber is selected,
or,
Press the "-P/CH" or "P/CH+" b tton at the
right side of the TV or press the P- or P+
b tton on the remote control, so that last
mode switched off is selected.
By either method the TV will switch on and
the led becomes green.
To swit h the TV off:
 Press the  (stand-by) b tton on the re-
mote control or On/Off switch at the right
side of the TV, so the TV will switch to stand-
by mode and the GREEN LED will become
RED.
To power down the TV completely, press
Power On/Off b tton at the rear side of the
TV,

Initial Settings
Initial APS (Automati Programming
System)
The following men will be displayed on the
screen when yo t rn yo r TV on for the first
time. APS, searches and sorts all channels
and stores them a tomatically on yo r TV,
according to the transmission of
programme systems in yo r area.
First of all choose Language and Country by
sing

b ttons. This will af-
fect the sort process in APS. To start APS,
press the RED or OK b tton.
After APS is finalized, the programme table
will appear on the screen. In the programme
table yo will see the programme n mbers
and names assigned to the programmes.
If yo do not accept the locations and / or the
programme names of programmes, yo
can change them from the Program Men .
(See page 14)
Operating The TV
Yo can operate yo r TV sing both the re-
mote control handset and the b ttons on the
set.
Operating with the buttons on the
TV set
Vol me setting and programme selection
can be made by sing the b ttons on the
control panel at the right side of the TV.
Volume Setting
Press the -  b tton to decrease vol me
or the  + b tton to increase vol me, so
a vol me level scale (slider) will be dis-
played at the bottom of the screen.
Programme Selecting
Press the P/CH+ b tton to select the next
programme or the P/CH- b tton to select
the previo s programme.
Entering The Menu
Press the MENU b tton on the control
panel at the side of the TV to enter the men .
P/CH+ / -P/CH and  + / -  b ttons
on the TV are sed as navigation b ttons in
men .
AV Mode
Press the AV b tton on the control panel
at the side of the TV to switch yo r TV to EXT
modes.
Operating With Remote Control
The remote control handset of yo r TV is de-
signed to control all the f nctions of yo r TV.
The f nctions will be described in accor-
dance with the men system of yo r TV.
F nctions of the men system are de-
scribed in Men System section.
Volume Setting
Press the b tton to increase vol me.
Press the b tton to decrease vol me. A
vol me level scale (slider) will be displayed
at the bottom of the screen.
Programme Selecting
(Previo s or next programme)
 Press the P- b tton to select the previo s
programme.

Programme Selecting (direct access):
Press digit b ttons on the remote control
handset to select programmes between 0
and 9. The TV will switch to the selected
programme after a short delay.
 For a two digit programme n mber enter the
second digit after pressing the first digit
within 2 seconds.

To delete a programme, press the YELLOW
b tton. Pressing the YELLOW b tton again
erases the selected programme from the

APS (Automatic Programming System)

the following warning screen will be dis-
played.
Press the BLUE b tton to cancel APS if yo

programme list.

PIP and PAP modes
Press the b tton to switch to PIP mode.
At PIP Mode, a small pict re (PIP pict re) is
displayed on the main pict re. There are 1
size and 4 positions ( pper left, pper right,
bottom left and bottom right) available for the
PIP window. Yo can se b tton to
change the PIP position. Aspect Ratio of the
PIP window is fixed and 4:3.
When PIP Mode is entered, the defa lt active
window is PIP window and the active win-
dow is indicated by a green frame aro nd it.
The active window can be changed by
pressing the Yellow b tton. The stat s info
OSD belongs to active window. The place of
the stat s OSDs are same for both win-
dows.
For PIP pict re restrictions, see table on
page 27.
Press the b tton twice to switch to PAP
mode.
At PAP Mode, two pict res with eq al sizes
are displayed on the screen. Aspect Ratios
of the windows are fixed.
When yo switch to PAP Mode, Main window
in PIP Mode is displayed on the right side of
the screen. The active window can be
changed by pressing the Yellow b tton.
So rce restrictions of PAP Mode are same
as in PIP Mode. It is not possible to show 2
different channels from the TV t ner at the
same time.
Freeze Pi ture
Yo can freeze the pict re on the screen by
pressing the b tton. At PIP and PAP lay-
o ts; only the main pict re can be frozen.
Zoom Modes
Zoom mode can be changed by pressing
the b tton. Yo can change the screen
size according to the pict re aspect ratio.
Select the optim m one from the following
ZOOM modes.
Note: You can only choose 4:3 and FULL in PC
mode.
Auto:
When a WSS (Wide Screen Signalling) sig-
nal, which shows the aspect ratio of the pic-
t re, is incl ded in the broadcast signal or
the signal from an external device, the TV
a tomatically changes the ZOOM mode ac-
cording to the WSS signal.
 When the AUTO mode does not f nction cor-
rectly d e to poor WSS signal q ality or
when yo want to change the ZOOM mode,
change to another ZOOM mode man ally.
Full:
This niformly stretches the left and right
sides of a normal pict re (4:3 aspect ratio)
to fill the wide TV screen.
 For 16:9 aspect ratio pict res that have been
sq eezed into a normal pict re (4:3 aspect
ratio), se the Full mode to restore the pic-
t re to its original shape.
16:9 Zoom:
This zooms p the wide pict re (16:9 aspect
ratio) to the f ll screen.
16:9 Subtitle:
This zooms p the wide pict re (16:9 aspect
ratio) with s btitles to the f ll screen.
Default Zoom Modes:
:3
Use to view a normal pict re (4:3 aspect ra-
tio) as this is its original shape.

1 :9 Zoom:
This zooms p the wide pict re (14:9 aspect
ratio) to the pper and lower limits of the
screen.
Panoramic:
This stretches the left and right sides of a
normal pict re (4:3 aspect ratio) to fill the
screen, witho t making the pict re appear
nnat ral.
The top and bottom of the pict re are slightly
c t off.
Teletext
Teletext is an information system that dis-
plays text on yo r TV screen. Using the Tele-
text information system yo can view a page
of information on a s bject that is available
in the list of contents (index).
To Operate Teletext
 Select a TV station where Teletext is being
transmitted.
 Press the b tton. Us ally the list of con-
tents (index) is displayed on the screen.
To Sele t A Page Of Teletext
 Press the appropriate digit b ttons for the
req ired Teletext page n mber.
The selected page n mber is displayed in
the top left corner of the screen. The Teletext
page co nter searches ntil the selected
page n mber is located, the desired page is
then displayed on the screen.
 Press the
a
b tton to move the Teletext
screen forward one page at a time.
 Press the

b tton to move the Teletext
screen backward one page at a time.
To Sele t Index Page
 To select the page n mber of the index (gen-
erally page 100), press the b tton.
To Sele t Teletext With A TV
Programme
 Press the b tton. The text is now s per-
imposed over the programme on the
screen.
 Press the b tton again to ret rn to the
Teletext page.
To Sele t Double Height Text
 Press the b tton for the top half of the in-
formation page to be displayed in do ble
height text.
 Press the b tton again for the bottom half
of the information page to be displayed in
do ble height text.
 Press the b tton once more for the f ll
page of normal height text.
To Reveal Con ealed
Information
 Pressing the b tton once will reveal an-
swers on a q iz or games page.
 Pressing the b tton again will conceal
the revealed answers.

To Stop Automati Page Change
The teletext page yo have selected may
contain more information than what is on the
screen; the rest of the information will be
displayed after a period of time.
 Press the b tton to stop the a tomatic
page change.
 Press the b tton again to allow the next
page to be displayed.
To Sele t A Sub ode Page
S bcode pages are s bsections of long
Teletext pages that can only be displayed on
the screen one section at a time.
 Select the req ired Teletext page.
 Press the b tton.
 Select the req ired s bcode page n mber
by pressing fo r digit b ttons (e.g. 0001).
 If the selected s bcode page is not displayed
in a short time, press the b tton. TV
programme will be displayed on the screen.
 Teletext page n mber will be displayed on
the pper left corner of the screen when the
selected page is fo nd.
 Press the b tton to display the selected
Teletext page.
PAT (Pi ture and Text)
 Press the RED ( ) b tton to see the
programme and teletext at the same time.
The screen will be divided into two parts.
Teletext will be displayed on the left side of
the screen.
To Exit Teletext
 Press the b tton. The screen will switch
to TV mode.
To Display The Time
 While watching a TV programme with Tele-
text transmission press the b tton. The
c rrent time information, capt red from Tele-
text will be displayed on the screen.
 If the programme being watched does not
have Teletext transmission, no information
will be displayed.
Fastext
Yo r TV s pports the 1000 page Teletext
system. When the page n mber of any of
the 1000 pages in memory is entered, the
system will not search for the req ested
page; instead it will display the page a to-
matically. If the req ested page is not in
memory, the system will search for the re-
q ested page n mber and save the 1000
pages incl ding the req ested page into
memory after finding it.
 Press the

screen forward one page at a time.

screen backward one page at a time.
For Fastext

 Press an appropriate RED, GREEN, YELLOW

a tomatically according to the transmission.
 If TOP text transmission is present, colo r
coded b ttons will appear in stat s row.
 If TOP text transmission is not present, sta-
t s row will not appear.

located in colo red box.
In Top mode the
