DANGER
• DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE IN-
DOOR UNIT AND DHW TANK PRIOR TO FILLING BOTH
CIRCUITS WITH WATER AND CHECKING WATER PRES-
SURE AND THE TOTAL ABSENCE OF ANY WATER LEAK-
AGE.
• Do not pour water over the DHW tank electrical parts. If
the electrical components are in contact with water a seri-
ous electrical shock will take place.
• Do not touch or adjust the safety devices inside the DHW
tank. If these devices are touched or adjusted, a serious
accident can take place.
• In case of re Turn OFF the main switch, put out the re
at once and contact your service contractor.
• It must be ensured that the DHW tank cannot operate ac-
cidentally without water neither with air inside hydraulic
system.
CAUTION
• Do not use any sprays such as insecticide, lacquer, hair spray
or other ammable gases within approximately one meter
from the system.
• If circuit breaker or fuse is often activated, stop the system
and contact your service contractor.
• Do not make service or inspections tasks by yourself. This
work must be performed by a qualied service person.
• This appliance must be used only by adult and capable peo-
ple, having received the technical information or instructions
to handle this appliance properly and safely.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
• Do not put any strange material (sticks, etc...) into the water
inlet and outlet piping of the DHW tank.
2 IMPORTANT NOTICE
2.1 GENERAL NOTES FOR THE SYSTEM
• This document contains the information referred to the
HITACHI DHW tank. The HITACHI DHW tank must be con-
nected with the YUTAKI S80 indoor unit only. Please, refer
to the YUTAKI S80 Indoor unit Installation and operation
manual “PMML0290A” (space heating information) for
the complete information of the system.
• Refer to the manuals to check that all the information required
for the correct installation of the system is included. If this is
not the case, contact your distributor.
• HITACHI pursues a policy of continuous improvement in product
design and performance. The right is therefore reserved to vary
specications without notice.
• HITACHI cannot anticipate every possible circumstance that
might involve a potential hazard.
• The DHW tank has been designed for standard water heating
for human beings only. Do not use this for other purposes
such as for drying clothes, heating foods or for any other
heating process (except swimming pool).
• No part of this manual should be reproduced without written
permission.
• If you have any questions, contact your HITACHI service con-
tractor.
• Check and make sure that the explanations of each part of
this manual correspond to your model.
• Refer to the model’s codication to conrm the main charac-
teristics of your system.
• Signal words (DANGER and CAUTION) are used to identify
levels of hazard severity. Denitions for identifying hazard lev-
els are provided below with their respective signal words.
• It is assumed that these products will be operated and ser-
viced by English speaking people. If this is not the case, the
customer should add safety, caution and operating signs in
the native language of the personnel.
• This manual should be considered as a permanent part of the
DHW tank. It gives a common description of and information
on your system, as well as on other models.
• The system has been designed for the following temperature.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
2.2.1 Space heating main notes (Heating coil)
NOTE
The DHW Tank is designed to work with the YUTAKI S80 system
air to water heat pump only. Therefore, the tank’s heating coil will
be heated by the YUTAKI S80 indoor unit and not need specic
intermediate elements.
2.2.2 DHW main notes
• The pressure and temperature relief valve accessory (DH-
WT-SWG-01: pressure setting 7 bar) must be installed at the
DHW inlet connection of the tank (as close as possible to the
tank) to provide the following functions:
-Pressure protection
-Non-return function
-Shut-off valve
-Filling
-Draining
• 1 shut-off valve (eld supplied) must be installed in the DHW
outlet connection, in order to make easier any maintenance
work.
• If the domestic cold water entry pressure is higher than the
equipment’s design pressure (6 bar), a pressure reducer must
be tted with a nominal value of 7 bar.
NOTE
For more details, please refer to the section DHW hydraulic circuit.
HITACHI is introducing a new Domestic Hot Water Tank to work
with the YUTAKI S80 system only. It provides high quality domes-
tic hot water for human beings.
HITACHI offers two DHW tanks (DHWS195S-2.0H1E and
DHWS260S-2.0H1E) that can be combined only with the YUTAKI
S80 indoor unit (integrated or beside the indoor unit), allowing the
user to benet from the heat pump’s high efciency and achieve
hot water up to 75ºC.
In the integrated option the tank is mounted over the indoor unit.
For separated option, on the oor beside to the indoor unit, the
dedicated Flexible Water Pipes Kit (ATW-FWP-01) is required.
The DHW Tank is designed to be installed with he YUTAKI S80
system. In case another tank is used, HITACHI cannot guarantee
the system good operation.
The DHW tank is made with high advanced technology using
stainless steel chemically descaled and passivated materials.
It has been designed to be high thermal efcient insulated with
rigid, mould-injected, Neopor EPS.
The DHW Tank has been designed to have a compact size to
reduce the installation space and to eliminate the cold zones at
the bottom of the storage tank to prevent the risk of bacteria pro-
liferation (e.g. Legionella).
The system is simple to control; its remote controller (PC-S80TE)
is integrated on the DHW tank and is a variation of the well-re-
ceived and successful design used with the existing YUTAKI S
system, which includes a helpful LCD graphic display, one-touch
holiday button, weekly timer and frost protection.

Hydraulic necessary elements
The next hydraulic elements are necessary to correctly perform
the domestic hot water circuit:
• 1 Security water valve (DHWT-SWG-01 accessory): this
Hitachi accessory (1) is a pressure and temperature relief
valve that must be installed as near as possible at the DHW
inlet connection before the DHW inlet water pipe factory sup-
plied (10) (pressure setting 7 bar. The security water valve
provides:
-Pressure protection
-Non-return function
-Shut-off valve

The discharge pipe should be always open to the atmosphere,
free of frost and in continuous slope to the down side in case that
water leakage exists.

Hydraulic optional elements
In case of a recirculation circuit for the DHW circuit:
• 1 Recirculation pump (eld supplied): this pump (3) will help to
correctly recirculate the hot water to the DHW inlet.
• 1 Water check valve (ATW-WCV-01 accessory): this Hitachi
accessory (2) is connected after the pump (3) in order to en-
sure the non-return of water.
• 2 Shut-off valves (eld supplied): one (4) before the pump (3)
and one (4) after the check valve (2) in Shut-off valve (eld
supplied).
NOTE
lf the domestic cold water entry pressure is higher than the equip-
ment’s design pressure (6 bar), a pressure reducer must be tted
with a nominal value of 7 bar.
Recommendations for the DHW hydraulic circuit
• Connect all pipes as close as possible to the unit, so that dis-
connection can be easily performed when required.
• It is recommended to use exible joints for the water piping
inlet and outlet in order to avoid vibration transmission.
• Apply thermal insulation on the hydraulic system pipes in or-
der to avoid accidental injure due to excessive heat on piping
surfaces and also to avoid heat losses.
• Proper water pipe inspection should be performed after pip-
ing work to assure there is no water leakage in the circuit by
completely opening the DHW inlet and outlet shut-off valves.
• The heating coil of the tank is placed in a highest position
than the indoor unit air purger. Then, to totally purge the space
heating circuit, it is very important that the heating coil of the
tank will be fully air purged.
• The indoor unit is equipped with an air purger (factory sup-
plied) at the highest location of the indoor unit. If this location
is not the highest of the water installation, air might be trapped
inside the water pipes, which could cause system malfunc-
tion. In that case additional air purgers (eld supplied) should
be installed to ensure no air enters the water circuit.
• When the unit is stopped during shutdown periods and the
ambient temperature is very low, the water in the pipes and
the circulating pump may freeze, thus damaging the pipes
and the water pump. In order to prevent this, the unit has a
self-protection mechanism which should be activated (refer to
Optional functions chapter of the Indoor unit Service Manual).
• Fresh water must circulate inside the DHW tank water circuit
at least one time per day during the rst days after the instal-
lation has been performed.
• The storage capacity of the tank has to meet with the daily
consumption in order to avoid stagnation of water.
• Try to avoid long runs of water piping between the tank and
the DHW installation in order to decrease possible tempera-
ture losses.
• Insure that the installation, testing and applied materials com-
ply with applicable legislation.

5.1.3 Water quality
Heating coil and DHW circuit
CAUTION
• Water quality must be according to EU council directive 98/83 EC.
• Water should be subjected to ltration or to a softening treat-
ment with chemicals before application as treated water.
• It is mandatory to do not add any kind of antifreeze product to
the water circuit.
• To avoid deposits of scale on the heating coil surface it is man-
datory to ensure a high water quality with low levels of CaCO3.
• It is also necessary to analyse the quality of water by checking
pH, electrical conductivity, ammonia ion content, sulphur con-
tent, and others. Should the results of the analysis be not
good, the use of industrial water would be recommended for
the heating coil circuit.
