•Press the OPEN latch and lift the clear protective window.
NOTE: 2SUPPORT PADS are included with your HMDX-S5. The
pads help hold your MP3 player in place so it can be operated
through the protective window.
-Use SUPPORT PAD 1 for nano (and other thin MP3 players)
-Use SUPPORT PAD 2 for iPod touch (and other thick MP3 players)
-iPhone does not require a support pad.
Important: iPod Classic is not recommended for use with this
product
•Plug the Audio Input Jack into the headphone input of your MP3
player.
• Close the clear protective window.
• To listen to your MP3 player, slide the switch on the front of the
HMDX-S5 to the Aux position.
• Pressing firmly on your MP3 device through the protective window,
turn your player on as you normally would.
• To control the volume, use the tu buttons on the front of the
speaker in conjunction with the volume controls on your MP3 player.
• When finished listening, turn your MP3 player off and slide the switch
on the front of the speaker to the Off position.
Touse the Intergrated Stand Feature: (Fig. 3)
• Lift the Intergrated Stand open with your fingernail until it clicks in
place.
• Set speaker unit on it’s side and enjoy!
When finished enjoying either radio or MP3 music, slide the switch to
the Off position.

•Turn off appliance when not in use.
•Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord, plug, cable or housing. If it is not working properly, if it has
been dropped or damaged, return it to HMDX AUDIO Service Center for examination and repair.
•Keep away from heated surfaces.

•Only set on dry surfaces. Do not place on surface wet from water or cleaning solvents.

Battery Precautions
• Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
• When installing batteries, observe proper +/- polarities. Incorrect installation of battery may cause damage to the
unit.
•Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g., alkaline with carbon-zinc or old batteries with new ones).
• If the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove batteries to prevent damage due to possible
battery leakage.
•Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
This product contains small parts that may present a choking hazard for young children.
BATTERY INSTALLATION:
•Press the OPEN latch and lift the clear protective window to open. The battery compartment is located inside.
• If support pads are inside protective window, remove them to reveal the battery compartment.
•Remove the battery cover and insert three “AA” alkaline batteries using the correct polarity direction as indicated.
• Replace the battery cover.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Tolisten to the Radio: (Fig. 1)
• Slide the switch on the front of the speaker to the FM position.
•Press the tubuttons to select your station.
• Once the station is set, the LCD screen will return to the Time display.
• To control the volume, use the tu buttons.
• To change stations, press the Mode button. The current station will show on the display. Use the tu buttons to
select another station.
•To “scan” throught the stations, press and hold either of the tu buttons.
To set the Time: (Fig. 1)
• Press the Time Set button once.
• The hour digit will begin to flash.
• Press the tu buttons to set the time.
• Press the Time Set button again and the minute digit will begin to flash.
LIMITED 1 YEAR WARRANTY
HMDX AUDIO sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the
date of original purchase, except as noted below. HMDX AUDIO warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and
workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to Retailers. Toobtain warranty
service on your HMDX AUDIO product, mail the product and your dated sales receipt (as proof of purchase), postpaid, to the following
address: HMDX AUDIO Consumer Relations, Service Center Dept. 168, 3000 Pontiac Trail, Commerce Township, MI 48390. No COD's will
be accepted. HMDX AUDIO does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent consumer purchaser of the
product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate HMDX AUDIO in any way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does
not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product; improper
installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or
damage of an operating part from failure to provide manufacturer’s recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft; neglect;
vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or
any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of HMDX AUDIO. This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and
operated in the country in which the product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate in any
other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by
these modifications is not covered under this warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. THERE SHALL BE NO OTHER WARRANTIES
EXPRESSOR IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS OR ANY OTHER OBLIGATION ON
THE PART OF THE COMPANY WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY. HMDX AUDIO SHALL HAVE NO
LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL THIS WARRANTY REQUIRE MORE
THAN THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PART OR PARTS WHICH ARE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE WITHIN THE EFFECTIVE
PERIOD OF THE WARRANTY. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. IF REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR DEFECTIVE MATERIALS ARE NOT
AVAILABLE, HMDX AUDIO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE PRODUCT SUBSTITUTIONS IN LIEU OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT.
This warranty does not extend to the purchase of opened, used, repaired, repackaged and/or resealed products, including but not limited to
sale of such products on Internet auction sites and/or sales of such products by surplus or bulk resellers. Any and all warranties or
guarantees shall immediately cease and terminate as to any products or parts thereof which are repaired, replaced, altered, or modified,
without the prior express and written consent of HMDX AUDIO. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have
additional rights which may vary from state to state and country to country.Because of individual state/country regulations, some of the
above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

•Conecte el enchufe de entrada de audio en la toma del
audífono de su MP3.
•Cierre la ventana protectora transparente.
• Para escuchar su MP3, deslice el interruptor en el
frente del HMDX-S5 a la posición Aux.
•Apretando firmemente en su MP3 por la ventana
protectora, enciéndalo como lo haría normalmente.
• Para controlar el volumen, use los botones tuen el frente del parlante
junto con los mandos de volumen en su MP3.
• Cuándo termine de escuchar, apague su MP3 y deslice el interruptor en el
frente del parlante a la posición “Off” (apagado).

Precauciones para las baterías
• Use solo el tipo y tamaño de baterías según se especifica.
•Cuando instale las baterías, respete la posición correcta de las polaridades +/-. La instalación incorrecta de la batería puede
dañar la unidad.
•No combine diferentes tipos de baterías (p. ej. alcalinas con cinc-carbono o baterías viejas con nuevas).
• Si no se usa la unidad por un largo período de tiempo, retire las baterías para prevenir daños debidos a posibles pérdidas de las
baterías.
• No arroje las baterías al fuego. Pueden explotar o perder líquido.
Este producto contiene piezas pequeñas que pueden representar un peligro de sofocamiento para niños pequeños.
INSTALACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA:
• Presione el seguro OPEN (abierto) y levante la ventana protectora transparente para abrir. El compartimiento de las pilas se ubica
en el interior
•Si las almohadillas de soporte están dentro de la ventanilla protectora, retirarlas para mostrar el compartimiento de las
pilas.
•Retire la tapa de la batería e inserte tres baterías alcalinas “AA”con el cuidado que la dirección de polaridad sea correcta,
como se indica.
• Vuelva a colocar la tapa de la batería y el forro.
INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO:
Para escuchar el Radio:(Fig. 1)
• Deslice el interruptor en el frente del parlante a la posición FM.
•Apriete los botones tu para seleccionar su emisora.
• Una vez sintonizada la emisora, la pantalla de cristal líquido volverá a indicar la hora.
• Para controlar el volumen, use los botones tu.
•Para cambiar emisoras, presione el botón Mode.La emisora actual aparecerá en la pantalla. Use los tu botones para seleccionar
otra estación.
• Para “busca” entre las emisoras, presione y sostenga cualquiera de los botones tu.
Para el ajuste de horas:(Fig. 1)
•Presione una vez el botón Time Set (ajuste de horas).
• El dígito de la hora comenzará a destellar.
• Presione los botones tu para poner la hora.
• Presione el botón Time Set otra vez y el dígito de minutos comenzará a destellar.
GARANTÍA LIMITADA POR 1 AÑO
