The TL6120 thermostat can be used to control an electric heating
system such as a baseboard heater, a radiant floor, a radiant ceiling,
a convector, a fan-forced heater, etc.
The thermostat cannot be used with the following:
• a resistive load under 2 A
• a resistive load over 12.5 A
• systems driven by a contactor or a relay (inductive load)
• central heating systems
• One (1) thermostat
• Two (2) 6-32 mounting screws
• Two (2) solderless connectors
TURN OFF POWER TO THE HEATING SYSTEM AT THE MAIN
POWER PANEL TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK.
Loosen the screw under-
neath the thermostat and
separate the front plate
from the back plate.
NOTE: The screw cannot
be completely removed.
Connect the thermostat wires to the power and to the load using
solderless connectors for copper wires. The thermostat wires are not
polarized; meaning either wire can be connected to the load or to the
power supply.
NOTE: All cables and connections must comply with local electrical
codes. This thermostat has tinned copper wires for line and load con-
nections. Special CO/ALR solderless connectors must be used if
these wires will be connected to aluminium conductors.
Mount the back plate to the electrical
box using the provided screws. Insert
the screws through a pair (left or right)
of mounting holes on the back plate.
Re-install the front plate of
the thermostat onto the
back plate and secure it
with the screw underneath
the thermostat.
NOTE: If there is a protective film or sticker on the thermostat’s
screen, peel it off.
Apply power to the heating system. Verify the installation by checking
that the heater can be turned On and Off by raising and lowering the
setpoint using the buttons.
ATTENTION: Keep the thermostat's air vents clean and free from
obstructions at all times.

The factory settings are indicated by the gray cells in the following
table.
Warning: Every time you change the thermostat’s configuration, the
clock and schedule parameters return to their default settings.
4.1 Temperature Display Format
To change the temperature display between °C and °F:
nPull the cover down.
oPress and hold the button.
pInsert a pointed object (e.g., paperclip) through the reset open-
ing. Remove it when the thermostat’s screen becomes blank.
qWait one second and release the button.
4.2 Time Display Format
To switch between the 12-hour format and the 24-hour format:
nPull the cover down.
oPress and hold the button.
pInsert a pointed object (e.g., paperclip) through the reset open-
ing. Remove it when the thermostat’s screen becomes blank.
qWait one second and release the button.
4.3 Control Type
Use proportional control in most cases as it provides better
temperature control.
You must use conventional control if you have a fan-forced
heater or if proportional control causes light flickering (especially
in rural regions).
The FAN indicator is displayed when conventional control is selected.
To switch between the two types of control:
nPull the cover down.
oPress and hold the button.
pInsert a pointed object (e.g., paperclip) through the reset open-
ing. Remove it when the thermostat’s screen becomes blank.
qWait one second and release the button.
Warning: When the thermostat is reset, all parameters (clock,
configuration and schedules) return to their default settings. If
necessary, reprogram them.
nPress and hold the button.
oInsert a pointed object (e.g., paperclip)
through the reset opening. Remove it
when the thermostat’s screen
becomes blank.
pWait one second and release the
button.

Le thermostat TL6120 peut servir à commander un appareil de
chauffage électrique tel qu’une plinthe chauffante, un plancher
chauffant, un plafond radiant, un convecteur, un appareil de chauffage
muni d’un ventilateur, etc.
Ce thermostat ne peut pas être utilisé dans les cas suivants :
• si la charge résistive est inférieure à 2 A
• si la charge résistive est supérieure à 12,5 A
• si l’appareil est muni d’un contacteur ou d’un relais (charge
inductive)
• si l’appareil de chauffage est un système central
• Un (1) thermostat
• Deux (2) vis de montage 6-32
• Deux (2) connecteurs sans soudure

Desserrer la vis sous le
thermostat et séparer la
plaque frontale du ther-
mostat de sa base.
NOTA : La vis ne peut être
retirée complètement.
Brancher le thermostat à
l’alimentation et à la charge
avec des connecteurs sans
soudure pour fils de cuivre.
Les fils du thermostat ne sont pas polarisés. Donc, le sens du
branchement n’a aucune importance.
NOTA : Tous les câbles et les raccordements doivent être conformes
au code d’électricité local. Les fils du thermostat qui servent aux rac-
cordements de ligne et de charge sont étamés. Des connecteurs
CO/ALR spéciaux doivent être utilisés si ces fils doivent être reliés à
des conducteurs d'aluminium.
Fixer la base sur une boîte électrique à
l'aide des vis fournies. Passer les vis
dans l’une des deux paires de trous de
montage (soit la gauche ou la droite).
Replacer la plaque
frontale du thermostat sur
la base et resserrer la vis
sous le thermostat.
NOTA : Enlever la pellicule (autocollant) de l’écran s’il y en a une.
Mettre le système de chauffage sous tension. Vérifier l’installation en
s’assurant que le système de chauffage puisse être activé et désac-
tivé en augmentant et en diminuant la température de consigne à
l’aide des boutons .

tableau ci-dessous.
MISE EN GARDE : Chaque fois que vous modifiez les paramètres
de configuration, les réglages de l’horloge et des horaires reviennent
à leurs valeurs par défaut.
4.1 Affichage de la température

4.2 Affichage de l'heure

4.3 Type de régulation
La régulation proportionnelle doit être utilisée dans la plupart des
cas car elle fournit une meilleure régulation de température.
La régulation classique doit être utilisée si votre appareil de
chauffage est muni d’un ventilateur ou si la régulation propor-
tionnelle occasionne des oscillations de tension au niveau de
l’éclairage, surtout en région rurale.
La mention FAN s’affiche lorsque la régulation classique est utilisée.
Pour changer le type de régulation :
nTirer le couvercle vers le bas.
oAppuyer sur le bouton et le maintenir enfoncé.
pInsérer un objet pointu (comme un trombone) dans l’ouverture
de réinitialisation. Enlever le trombone lorsque l’affichage dispa-
raît de l’écran.
qAttendre une seconde et relâcher le bouton .
MISE EN GARDE : Une fois le thermostat réinitialisé (remis à zéro),
tous les paramètres (l’horloge, la configuration et les horaires du
thermostat) reviennent à leurs valeurs par défaut. Si nécessaire, les
reprogrammer.
nAppuyer sur le bouton et le maintenir enfoncé.
oInsérer un objet pointu (comme un
trombone) dans l’ouverture de
réinitialisation. Enlever le trombone
lorsque l’affichage disparaît de
l’écran.
pAttendre une seconde et relâcher le
bouton .
