Rigging Recommendations
We recommend using a swivel rod
holder available on our website.
Through bolted and using a backing
plate. Further secure your rig with a
reel tether to prevent loss.
Wiring Requirements
Please refer to the adjacent ABYC
certied E-11 chart for electrical
specications based on your required
wire length and ow of amps used.
Install a 40A breaker for all reels
except for the 130 Dual reel which
requires a 60A breaker. Install the
correct resettable breaker as close as
possible to the battery.
For best value, purchase the Hooker
Electric Reel Hard Wiring Kit found
on our website.
STOP
CRITICAL NOTE: The red wire is
positive, the black wire is negative.
DO NOT wire backwards as this will
damage the Hooker Electric reel
and nullify the warranty.

Spool Loading
Spool loading service available from
Hooker Electric. If spooling yourself,
use a 12V battery but do not back braid
line with monolament line.
If a level wind is present, it
is recommended that the rst
3/4 of the spool is loaded without the
use of the level wind. After the spool is
3/4 full and leveled, it may then be
transferred to the level wind.
Powering Your Reel
Check the position of the reel’s
manual handle and release it to the
neutral position. This can be deter-
mined if the handle can spin freely in
both directions.
Turn the variable speed control
knob in the full counterclockwise
position (Off).
Plug the reel into your vessel’s 12V
or 24V DC power source.
NOTE
Reel models 16, 20 and 30
Kite Reels are only 12V.
Listen for a series of beeps, then a
3 second pause, followed by a second
set of beeps. This is the signal that the
reel recognized the neutral position.
For Standard Units
The speed control knob will operate
the reel from neutral to full-speed. The
2-speed wireless remote will operate
the unit from half-speed on button B
to full-speed on button A. A second
remote may be programmed upon
request for a spare. Additional fee may
apply.
If for any reason you loose power or
choose to ght a sh manually,
UNPLUG the reel from the power
source and press the button on the
handle (low-speed) to engage the
manual operation. The reel will work
as normal with little resistance.

Detachable Drive Units
Use electric feature as described in the
standards units section. When using
hand crank manual mode, drive must
be detached from reel or a brake will
occur. This makes it impossible to
hand crank the reel. Hand crank
feature allows the high gear to be
initiated manually.
GenII Auto Stop Units
After powering up the reel, the display
will show the hooker girl icon. If you
press the control button one (1) time,
the reel will enter into the “Auto Stop
Mode”. The display will show counts
based on depth on the top line of the
display and RPM's on the bottom line.
If you press the button one (1) more
time, the reel will enter into override
mode. “Override” will be displayed at
the bottom of the display in the color
red.
To clear the counts, press and hold the
button until the display reads “Clear”
then release the button and the value
“Zero” is reset.
Color Change Option
Press and hold the button until the
display reads “Color Change.”
Release the button and the display will
change color. Four (4) options are
available: Red, Blue, Yellow and
White. Repeat to change selection
until the desired color is chosen. They
color choice will remain set in memory
even after the power is disconnected.

the top left corner of display

the knobs set point in a linear scale
In the top right corner, the
Bluetooth icon will display if the reel is
paired with a device

Auto-Stop Reels
Manual Mode
Disconnect the reel from the power
source. Lock the handle into gear.
Fight sh as desired.
Usage Recommendations
The full speed option should be used
to retrieve the bait with no sh, setting
the hook, or to keep up with a fast
rising sh. Half speed or less is
recommended, while ghting a sh.
The speed can be determined by the
individual ghting their sh.
Maintenance
Treat reel as any other high-end shing
equipment. Minimize exposure to
extreme salt spray, even though the
reel is sealed. Rinse reel after every
use with dish soap and clean water
and dry thoroughly. Wiping with water
repellent lubricants such as WD-40®,
CorrosionX®, or CRC Heavy Duty
Silicone is recommended.
Auto-Stop Mode
The reel will not operate if the display
counter reads zero (0) or any negative
number (-).
Override Mode
The reel will operate regardless of the
count on the display.
While in the Auto-Stop
Mode, you’re retrieving
your weight at full speed, the counter
reaches zero (0), the reel stops. You
want to retrieve the remaining line.
Turn the variable speed control
knob counter-clock wise to the OFF
position.
Press the button to enable
override.
Turn the variable speed control
knob to the desired speed to retrieve
the remaining line. The display will
show a negative number. If you
choose to reset the counter to zero,
hold the button for ve seconds until
the display resets.

Service and Storage
Store the reel in a cool, dry place.
Service your Hooker Electric reel
every shing season or annually.
The Hooker Electric
attachment should be
inspected and maintained on a yearly
basis for corrosion on wiring and
plugs. At the same time it
is recommended to check the boat
wiring for corrosion as well.
There are no parts inside the attach-
ment that can be serviced except by
Hooker Electric, Inc.

The new reel warranty may be
transferred to a new reel owner if
authorized by Hooker Electric. Please
call our showroom for details.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Available on the Auto-Stop units, reels
equipped with BLE technology. The
app can be purchased through the
Apple Store by searching “ReelTime
Hooker Electric”.
You may control your
Hooker Electric reel
using your iPhone or
iPad with the installation
of the ReelTime app. Your iPhone/iPad
becomes the remote control. The app
displays the line counter display,
variable speed control (displayed in
revolutions), you can reset the counter
display, and Auto-Stop / Override
push button control.
The control of the reel with the
ReelTime app is directly dependent on
the proximity to the reel, free from
obstruction, just as with any device
using Bluetooth technology.

Hooker Electric reels are covered by a 2-Year Warranty on parts
for manufacturer defects and 1-Year Warranty on labor. Warranties
begin from the date of purchase. Within this set time period,
Hooker Electric, Inc. will, at its discretion, repair or replace any
component on the attachment which has failed under “normal”
operation of the reel. These repairs and/or replacements will be
provided at no additional charge for parts and labor. The customer
will be entirely responsible for shipping costs both ways. This
warranty does not cover any type of failures due to accident,
misuse, abuse, alteration or repairs done prior or after the
attachment of the Hooker Electric module(s). Hooker Electric
assumes responsibility for warranty claims of parts and labor for all
new Shimano®and Penn®reels modied to t the Hooker
Electric’s components.

Llenado de la bobina
Servicio disponible en Hooker
Electric. Si la llena usted, use una
batería 12V; pero no es necesario
hacer back braid con monolamento.
Si usted cuenta con
enrollador automático,
recomendamos que llene el primer 3/4
del carrete sin usarlo. Una vez que el
carrete esté 3/4 lleno y aparejado,
entonces utilice el devanador.
Prendido del carrete
Verique la posición del mango
manual del carrete y póngalo en
posición neutra (cuando el mango
puede girar libremente en ambas
direcciones).
Gire la perilla de control de
velocidad variable al máximo en
sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj
(Off).
Enchufe el carrete a la fuente de
poder 12V o 24V DC de la nave.
NOTA
Los modelos de carrete kite
16, 20 y 30 son solo 12V.
Cuando oiga una serie de bips y
una pausa de 3 segundos, seguida de
otra serie de bips, es señal de que el
carrete ha llegado a posición neutra.
Para unidades estándar
La perilla de control de velocidad
hace funcionar el carrete desde
velocidad neutra hasta máxima
velocidad. El control remoto de 2
velocidades opera la unidad desde
velocidad media en la perilla B a
velocidad máxima en la perilla A. Se
puede programar un segundo control
remoto si se desea, lo cual implica
posiblemente un costo.
Si si quedara sin energía o deseara
pescar en forma manual,
DESENCHUFE el carrete de la fuente
de poder y presione la perilla en el
mango (baja velocidad) para iniciar el
funcionamiento manual. El carrete
funcionará normalmente sin mucha
resistencia.

Unidades desmontables
Use la función eléctrica descrita en la
sección de unidades estándar. Cuando
se use la manivela en modo manual,
debe separarla del carrete, o se
producirá un freno, haciendo imposible
que la llene manualmente. El mecanis-
mo de llenado manual permite iniciar el
cambio de alta velocidad a mano.
Unidades auto stop GennII
Al encender el carrete, la pantalla
muestra el ícono femenino de Hooker.
Presione el botón 1 vez y el carrete
entrará en “Modo Auto-Stop”; la
pantalla mostrará en la línea superior el
conteo basado en la profundidad y las
RPM en la parte inferior. Si presiona el
botón una vez más, el carrete entrará
en “Modo Override” y mostrará
“Override” en la parte inferior de la
pantalla en color rojo.
Para reinicar el conteo, presione el
botón y manténgalo presionado hasta
que la pantalla muestre “Clear”; suelte
el botón y el valor “zero” retorna.
Opción de cambio de color
Mantenga presionado el botón hasta
que la pantalla diga "Color Change” y
suelte el botón. Opciones disponibles:
rojo, azul, amarillo y blanco. Repita
para cambiar la selección. El color
seleccionado permanecerá en la
memoria incluso después de
desconectarlo de su fuente de poder.

Carretes Auto-Stop
Modo manual
Desconecte el carrete de la fuente
de poder. Bloquee el mango en un
cambio. Pesque como desee.
Recomendaciones de uso
Use la opción de máxima velocidad
para recuperar el cebo vacío, poner el
gancho, o para ir al mismo ritmo de un
pez de subida rápida. Se recomienda
velocidad media o menor cuando esté
luchando con un pez. La velocidad la
determina quien está luchando al pez.
Mantenimiento
Trate el carrete como lo haría con
cualquier otro equipo de pesca de alta
calidad. Manténgalo lejos de niebla
salina aunque el carrete está sellado.
Enjuage el carrete después de usarlo,
con jabón para lavar platos y agua
limpia, y séquelo muy bien. Se
recomienda que lo trate con
lubricantes repelentes de agua como
WD-40®, CorrosionX®o CRC Heavy
Duty Silicone.
Modo Auto-Stop
El carrete no funcionará si el conteo
muestra cero (0) o un número
negativo (-).
Modo Override
El carrete funcionará independiente
del conteo en la pantalla.
Mientras está en Modo
Auto-Stop, usted está
recuperando su peso a toda velocid-
ad, el contador llega a cero (0), y el
carrete se detiene. Usted desea
recuperr el sedal restante.
Gire la perilla de control de
velocidad variable contra las manecil-
las del reloj a posición OFF.
Presione el botón para override.
Gire la perilla de control de
velocidad variable a la velocidad
deseada para recuperar la línea
restante. La pantalla mostrará un
número negativo. Si decide reinicial-
izar el contador a cero, presione el
botón durante cinco segundos hasta
que la pantalla se reinicie.

Puede controlar su
carrete Hooker
Electric usando su
iPhone o iPad con
ReelTime app. Su
iPhone/iPad es el control remoto. El
