• Do not leaveappliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when
not in use and before servicing.
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not work-
ing as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or

or authorized dealer (depot).
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door
on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Donot run
appliance over cord. Keepcord away from heated surfaces.
• Donot unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
• Donot handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

•Do not put any object into openings. Donot use with any open-
ing blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may
reduce air flow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away
from openings, brushroll and other moving parts.
• Do not operate cleaner in bare feet or when wearing open toe
shoes or sandals.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Useextra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Donot useto pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as
gasoline, fine wood sandings or use in areas where they may be
present.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Donot use without dust bag and/or filters in place.
• Donot leave product running in upright position.
• Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with the cleaner. They may
damage the cleaner.

• Use vacuum cleaner only for its intended use described in the

• Vacuum should be stored in a dry, indoor area, on the floor,
with the handle locked in the upright position.

Remove all parts from carton and identify each
item shown. Make sure all parts are located
before disposing of packing.

While grasping handles, move cleaner back and
forth to clean stairs.

CHANGING DISPOSABLE BAG
DISCONNECT GLEANER FROM ELECTRICAL
OUTLET.
Cheek disposable bag from time to time or when
"Check Bag" indicator light acmes on. Change
the disposable bag when it becomes full. If too
much dirt accumulates, your cleaner will not
operate effectively.

/'dO'F/r!_: All new carpet has loose fibers which can fill the bag quickly while
vacuuming. This type of debris does not activate the "Check Bag" indicator.
If you are using the cleaner on new carpet, be sure to change the disposable
bag often, even if the "Check Bag" indicator does not show red.
CA. t0_',_ Very fine materials, such as face powder and cornstarch may
seal the disposable bag and may cause it to burst even though it is only
partially full of dirt. When cleaner is used to remove material of this nature,
change disposable bag often.

REPLACING BRUSHROLL
WARNING - Risk of personal injury - brushroll may
suddenly restart - unplug before cleaning or servic-
ing. When brushroll brushes are worn, it should be
replaced.
To check condition of brushes, move the edge of
a card across bottom plate while turning brush-
roll (Fig. 5.6). To maintain cleaning effectiveness,
replace brushroll if brushes do not touch card.
