Quick Reference Guide: RT-Next GEN Joker
Manual Depth Control
Hydraulic Connections:
Entering Field:
1. Unfold wings (3) and put hydraulic remote
in to float position.
2. Fully extend rear packer cylinders (1).
Turn SCV to 100% flow.
3. Raise machine (2) on rear axle.
4. Remove the rear cylinder safety stop and
any necessary front depth stops.
5. Raise rear axle (2) so implement is resting on the packer.
6. Phase the packer cylinders before field operation.
Set Wing Pressure:
1. Set wing pressure by tapping SCV (3) until gauge reads desired pressure.
Typical settings are 0-300 psi for previously tilled/soft ground and 300-500 psi
for untilled/hard ground. If desired pressure is exceeded, place SCV in float
and reset pressure. DO NOT EXCEED 500 PSI!
Depth Setting:
1. Raise outside gauge wheels off the ground to
their highest set points. (The gauge wheels
need to be lifted so they do not interfere with
correctly setting the depth control.) See
‘Gauge Wheel Setting’ below.
2. For shallower working depth, turn the handle
clockwise.
3. For deeper working depth, turn the handle
counterclockwise.
NOTE: The machine will also need to be
leveled by either adding, or removing stops to
the front hitch hydraulic cylinder.
Leveling:
1. To raise front rank of the machine, add front hitch cylinder stops.
2. To lower front rank of the machine, remove front hitch cylinder stops.
Tracking:
1. If machine is tracking to the right, add more stops to the front hitch
cylinder.
2. If machine is tracking to the left, remove stops from the front hitch
cylinder.
NOTE: Add or remove stops to the front hitch cylinder until the
machine tracks straight.

Gauge Wheel Setting:
1. Lower the machine to the predetermined set depth into the ground and start tilling.
2. Run machine slowly (5-6 mph) at set depth.
3. Adjust gauge wheels so wings are level with center frame. DO NOT LIFT
MACHINE OUT OF GROUND!
4. Turn the turnbuckles to lower the gauge wheels to the ground.
NOTE: The tires should only support the machine on the ground in case of
obstructions and following the contour of the field. The wheels should not lift the
wings when in operation. The gauge wheels keep the machine steady and
maintain the desired working depth. The wheels only have a sensing and
supporting function.
NOTE: The gauge wheel should not be set until the depth setting has been
completed.
5. Increase operation to desired speed (8-10 mph) and make fine adjustments as
necessary.
Leaving the Field:
1. Stop tractor and lower machine to set depth (1).
2. Lower transport axle to ground (2).
3. Extend front hitch cylinder completely (1).
4. Fold wings (3).
5. Insert rear cylinder safety stop to transport axle and front hitch cylinder depth stops.
6. Remove soil buildup from machine prior to leaving the field and entering public
roads.
NOTE: Observe all posted warning and safety notices for transportation of
machines on public roads! See Owner’s Manual for further information.
Troubleshooting:
Problem
Cause
Solution
Machine does not track straight.
Machine is not level front to back
Adjust Hitch Offset. Verify all cylinders stop
moving before SCV returns to neutral
Entire machine plugs when running.
Ground speed too slow; working depth too
deep.
Increase ground speed up to 10 mph.
Reduce tillage depth.
Wings plug when running.
Wings not running level.
Reduce wing pressure, adjust gauge wheels.
Machine lifts slow.
Tractor SCV not set to 100%; excessive soil
buildup on machine.
Set SCV to 100%. Remove soil from
machine frame.
Packer tongues failing on center of
machine.
Packer is not being retracted for transport.
Retract rear packer using transport valve.
Inspect packers for bent, flattened, fractured
or broken tongues.
