O Preparatlon:
(a) Decide a name of the KEYWORD
(b) Decide the names ol all COMMANDS
(c) List down types of lR signals to be copied
(d) Collect the remote controls to be used
(e) Selecl one of tour User Butlons (to use)

Press and release the selected User Button
to train or copy the lollowings
(a) KEYWORD
(b) COMMANDS with lR signals
(c) Mute signal
(d) Volume/channel signals (for Voicel\4e Extender)
(a) Voicel/e Unit
(b) Battery Box Unit
(c) AC/DC PowerAdaptor
(d) VoiceMe Extender

Voicel\re has 4 User Buttons to work with 4 seoarate users.
Each User Button operates individually under user's exclusive
KEYWORD. The same person can work on more than 1 User
Button.
(a) 30 COMMANDS. 10 Infrared Signals allowed under each
COMMAND,
(b) 1 KEYWORD
(c) 2 Mute Signals
(d) 1 Pair ol Signals for Volume Control
(e) 1 Pair of Signals for Channol Browsing
VoiceMe has two types of power supply. Use either one as
neeoeo,
(a) AC/DC Adaptor - Connect VoiceMe to power outlet with the
included AC/DC Adaptor
(b) Batteries- 4 AA batteries (not includ€d) requked.
Switch ON to €nable battery power. Switch OFF after use to
conserye batteries,
(a) Voicel\re does not recharge batteries.
(b) The swilch by the battery box only controls battery po',!er
on/otf.
(c) When battery level is low, VoiceMe automatically switches to
Power-Saving Mode and tour LEDs blink GREEN clockwise
to alert. VoiceMe does not operate under this situation.
(d) When KEYWORD has been named, Voic€Me is initially set
in KEYWORD Enable Mode.
(e) When both AC/DC adaptor is connected and batteries are
installed, AC/DC adaptor will be the power supply.
(f) When powered by batteries, VoiceMe will automatically
switch to Power-Saving Mode to save battery if no ssnsible
sound detected in 10 minutes.
@ Operation:
(a) To Start VoiceMe:
(i)Call KEYWORD, or
(ii)press and hold the correlated ICALL]

(b) To operate: Call COMMAND

Volume Conlrol, Channel Browsing, MUTE buttons
LICALL] Button on vME. This is to ensure the signats get emitted
correctly from your User Button on VoiceMe.
VoiceMe has 2 Setup Modes. Please refer to iranual^/R Setup Functions in the Flow Cha.t (back).
Manual Setup : Press User Button to select a setup function- VR Setup : Say to select a setup function.
KEYWOBD function is disabled. VoiceMe does not d€lect voice or have LED
indication. Switch to lhis mode il it is nol in use to conserve batte.ies. VoiceMe
will automatically switch lo this mode if no s€nsible sound detected in 10
minutes when poword by batterios. In this mode, VoiceMe can be started by
pressing [CALL] butlon on VoiceMe Exlender'

Select this lunction,
(a) VoiceMe will announce allstored COMMANDS, and
(b) During the announcement, user can erase individual COMIVIAND by
pressing the User gutton when it is announced.

In addition to the erase tunction indicatod in the above COMN4AND Review,
lhe user can also selecl lhe COMI\4AND lo erase by saying it when this
lunction is selected.

To copy tulute Signallrom audio/video equipment remote control- This enables
Voic€Me sAuto-lvlute lunction to mute and restore the audio / video sound- lt
is strongly recommended lo copy Mute Signal inlo Voicelle to enable its
Auto-Mute function. Up to two mute signals can be stored.
Once the Auto-Mute lunction is enabled, VoiceMe can automatically emit the
Signal lo mute lhe sound ol lhe audio/video equipment upon being called, to
precisely detect and recognize the usels voice COMMAND. Atter lhe
COMI\4AND Recognition ends, VoiceMe emiis lh€ Mut€ Signal again to
reslore the sound.

(a) Have the remole control inlended for copying mute signal r€ady.
(b) Go lo I Copy Mule Signal ] lunction, lollow the prompl and use the same way
as copying intrared signal to copy mute signal. Aulo'MLlte lunction will be
automalically enabled once Mute Signalis stored-
NOTE: To secure Voicelvle mute and restore the sound properly, press the
Mule butlon twice to copy a pair of mute signals as some equipments fiay
come with dillerent signals to mute and restore so!nd.
lD sELEcr KEYwoRD RESPoNSE
To seleci anv KEYWORD Response lrom the built-in list. VoiceMe responds
this solection to user's KEYWORD call, or to tho signal from VoiceMe
Extender ICALL] Button.
Howto selegl a KEYWORD Rgsponqe ]
(a) Go to ISelect KEYWORD Response ] lunclion. VoiceMe will say "Announcing
all KEYWORD Responses. Press the Bulton to select a Response. ", followed
by the list ol available KEYWORD Responses
(b) Press bulton on the one dgsired. VoiceMe will repeat that selection to contirm

To copy Volume conlrol and Channel browsing signal lrom audio/video
eouipment remote control to VoiceN,'le. This allows user to manually operale
Volume up/Down and Channel Up / Down buttons on the VoiceMe Extender
to adjust volume or browse channels.

Go to ICopy Volume Signal ] or lcopy Channel Signal] lunction, lollow the
Drompt and use the samo way as copying infrared signal lo copy remote
conirolVolume Up/Down or ChannelUp/Down signals Signals stored in each
User Bllton can be activated by lhe correlaled ICALL] Button on VME

Select this lunclion io erase the stored Mule Signal Press the Button agaan
to confirm. The Auto-Mute lunclion will be consequently disabled when lhere
is no mute signalstored.

(b) Select ffrain cOl\4MANDl lunction, starl training COMbIANDS. lmmediately
afier COMMAND name is trained, a "Copy Signal" voice prompl will come up
to .equest copying in{rared signals from remote controls into VoiceMe. Keep
the requked remote controls handy prior to the COMIVIAND lraining
(c) Train COMMAND in a reasonably quiet envkonment where VoiceMe is to be
us€d, lo record the voice paflern as clear as possible. Duration to say a
COMMAND is 2 seconds. Place Voicelle on a stable surface, record walh
regular tone, sp6ed and volume, aboul one foot (30cm) from microphone.
(d) To end a COMMAND training, press and hold the User Butlon lor 2 seconds,
or srmply wait till lime expires. VoicoMe will prompt to ne)d COMMAND
training. ll no more COMMAND to train, press and hold the lJser Button lor 2

Copy Infrared (lR) S'gnal
(a) Aim lhe remote control at Voicelr€'s inlrared receiving window lrom less lhan
4 inches (10 cm) distance. When VoiceMe says'Copy Signal" ANDtheLED
on User Button lurns green, press remote conlrol button to copy the first
infrared signal. voiceMe will "beep'once to contirm
(b) Ten Signals are allowed lnder one COMMAND. Contnue to copy more
needed signals one al a time when LED lurns green.

Appliances may need more time to process certain types ot operation after
receiving infrared signals. Th€y will nol reacl to lhe nexl signal untilthe current
one is completed (i.e. turn on TV turn up volume, etc.). Therelore' when
training VoiceMe on copying infrared signals, you may insed the "DELAY"
between any two Signals at any time as necessary. Each Delay can go up to
30 seconds.

How to inserl oELAY
After VoiceMe beeps once lo confirm lhe completion ol copying signal, and
the LED on User Bulton turns green, press the User Butlon onco lo insert
one-second Delay, or lwice to insert two'second Delay, and so on so torlh' up
to 30 times lor 3o-second Delay.
All lour LEDs on User Buttons will blink red once to confirm each one-second
Delay entry.
