oned by appropriately qualied experts. These ins-
tructions are intended exclusively for the specialist.
Electrical installation must be performed by a licensed
electrical company.
The UltraOil® boiler is designed and licensed for use
as a heat generator for hot water heating systems with
permissible ow temperatures of up to 90 °C1). It is de-
signed primarily for closed circuits, but is equally suita-
ble for installation in open circuits.

1. Important information
1.1 Safety instructions
The system may only be put into operation if
all relevant standards and safety regulations
have been complied with.
However, for trial operation, the following are the mini-
mum conditions requiring fullment:
1. Safety valve installed
(closed system)
2. Controls in operation (connected to the power supply)
3. Sensor for the safety temperature limiter is located in
the immersion sleeve (see 2.5).
4. The system is lled with water
5. An expansion vessel is attached
6. Flue gas outlets connected to the ue gas conduit at
the chimney
7. Burner is preset.
8. Fill the condensate drain/siphon with water (see
chapter 2.7).
WARNING
The heat generator can only be de-energised
by disconnection from the mains (e.g. all-po-
le switch).
WARNING
All electric power supply circuits must be
switched o󰀨 before accessing the terminals.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1.2 Warranty
Fault-free operation can only only be guaranteed if these
instructions are followed and if the boiler is regularly ser-
viced by a licensed specialist (maintenance contract). The
rectication of faults and damage resulting from the use
of contaminated operating materials (gas, water, com-
bustion air), unsuitable chemical additives to the heating
water, improper handling, faulty installation, unauthorised
modications and damage due to the use of force do not
fall under our obligations under warranty; this also applies
to corrosion due to halogen compounds, e.g. from spray
cans, paints, adhesives, solvents and cleansing agents.
1.3 Other instructions
All instructions relevant to your system can be found in
the Hoval system manual! In exceptional cases, the inst-
ructions can be found in the documentation for the com-
ponents!

2. Assembly
2.1 Installation position, transport
2.1.1 Transport
NOTICE
The UltraOil® is equipped with a ue gas col-
lector made of plastic.
Ensure that the ue gas collector is protected
against damage during transport.
2.1.2 Vertical installation in case of space problems
A special installation kit is available from Hoval for vertical
installation (see chapter 3.5.2).
To make it easier to transport into conned spaces, the
boiler can be set upright and the ue gas collector can be
easily disassembled and reassembled on site.
After transport to the installation site, before installation:
1. Check sealing surfaces for cleanliness (clean if
necessary)
2. Check seal for cleanliness and damage, and attach
3. Check ue gas collector sealing surface for clean-
liness and damage and attach ue gas collector
4. Use the frame and nuts to secure the ue gas col-
lector
5. Tighten the nuts with 10 Nm, working diagonally from
one to the next
NOTICE
A leak check must be carried out (see chap-
ter 6.4).
2.2 Setting up, levelling
A special foundation plate for the boiler is not an essenti-
al, but it is recommended.
There should be a space of at least 50 cm between
the boiler and the wall on the left and right.
If the space between the boiler and the wall is less than
50 cm, all thermal insulation and casing must be tted
before the boiler can be pushed into its nal position.
There must be enough space to swing open
the boiler door, incl. the burner.
There must always be enough space between
the back of the boiler and the wall to allow
easy access to the cleaning aperture in the
ue gas collector.

2.2.1 Boiler door pivotable to the left
It is possible to change the attachment of the boiler door
so that it opens towards the left. This can be of advantage
when installing the boiler in a corner.
Proceed as follows:
!
WARNING
Close the boiler door and lock it in position
before changing the attachment of the door.
1. Remove the top and bottom hinge nut (1, Fig. 01).
2. Fit the screw (2, Fig. 01) (pivot point) on the other
side of the door.
3. Reattach the hinge nut - do not tighten!
4. Fit the door handle on the other side of the door.
5. Fit the burner plug on the other side.

2.3 Fitting the thermal insulation
1. Check that the size of the right and left casing sup-
port rail (1, Fig. 02) matches the dimensions given
(tolerance ± 1mm).
2. Place the insulation mat (2, Fig. 02) around the boi-
ler body (with the joint on the right, black side facing
outwards).
3. Attach the insulation mats using two plastic tapes and
tape locks (3, Fig. 04):
- there are also tension springs (4, Fig. 02) for addi-
tional attachment
- Do not pull the tapes too tight (this would reduce the
insulation value)
1. Place insulation mat (5, Fig. 02) on the front of the bo-
iler and insulation mat (6, Fig. 02) on the back of the
boiler and secure in position with the retaining discs
(7, Fig. 03) pro vided.

2.4 Fitting the casing
CAUTION
The cable must not touch any hot parts.
The controller can be tted on the right or left.
1. Hook the right and left side walls (8, 9, 10, 11, Fig.
07) into the top casing support rail (1, Fig. 07) and the
plinth rail (1a, Fig. 07).
- First, t the front side walls (8, 11, Fig. 07)!
2. Hook the rear wall (12, Fig. 07) into the screws tted
in the side walls.
Route the cable for the burner reset button
forwards to the boiler door. Attach the cable
to the casing side wall with the high-strength
cable gland.
Always install the burner plug on the side to
-
wards which the boiler door is opened, see
also chapter 2.2.1 “Boiler door pivotable to
the left”.
3. Fit two special screws (12, Fig. 05) with counter nuts
to the side wall (8, Fig. 07) for the controller support.

2.5 Installation of boiler control
1. Hook the electrical box (14, Fig. 07) into the side wall
(8, Fig. 07) with the recesses for the special screws
and secure it with two self-tapping screws Ø3.5x6.5
(13, Fig. 05) and serrated washers.
2. Pull the capillaries with the immersion sensors
(15, Fig. 07) through the opening in the side wall, in-
sert them into the immersion sleeve (15a, Fig. 07) as
far as the stop and x in position with retaining spring
(15b, Fig. 07). Insert the burner plug (16, Fig. 07).

WARNING
Capillaries must not be folded or kinked
3. Lay the cable for the water pressure sensor (27, Fig.
07) through the opening in the side wall along the
cable duct towards the rear to the low-temperature
return and connect it.
4. Route the ue gas temperature sensor to the ue gas
collector and plug into the opening (17, Fig. 06) pro-
vided.
- Coat the sensor element with assembly lubricant
and insert the pressed part into the rubber stopper.

5. Insert the rear casing cover (18, Fig. 07).
6. Attach cover plate (19, Fig. 07) with self-tapping scr-
ews Ø3.5x6.5 (20).
7. Fit cover plate (21, Fig. 07) using self-tapping screws
Ø3.5x9.5 (22).
8. Attach oil line holder (23, Fig. 07) to cover (24, Fig.
07) and hook the cover into the side walls.
9. Stick on labels and mount the holder for the system
manual (25, Fig. 07) on the side.

2.7 Fitting the siphon
!
WARNING
Attach the siphon (40, Fig. 11), which is sup-
plied loose.
Before commissioning, the siphon and the
neutralisation box (if tted) must be lled with
water in order to prevent ue gas leakage.

2.8 Installation of burner
1. Open the boiler ange (4 locking screws) and check
the installation position of the combustion chamber
unit.
NOTICE
The combustion chamber insert must be se-
cured in the middle aluFer®pipe. If secured
correctly, the combustion chamber insert can
be rotated and does not tip over.

Don›t forget to insulate the intermediate spa
-
ce between the burner tube and boiler ange
with the included reproof bre (Fig. 13).
Note that:
the reproof bre must be packed rmly into
the cavity to prevent it falling out

2. After the installation of the burner, close again the bo-
iler ange and tighten the lock nut.
3. Establish the plug-in connections. Pull the plug ca-
bles out further by releasing the high-strength cable
glands.
- The burner must be connected to the boiler with the
standard plug-in connection.
- The burner cable must be shortened so that the plug-
in connection has to be parted to swing out the bur-
ner.

3. Technical information
3.1 Description of the boiler
The Hoval UltraOil® is a low-pollutant and energy-saving
oil-red condensing boiler. It has a tilted combustion
chamber of stainless steel as the primary heating sur-
face and a secondary heating surface of corrosion-re-
sistant laminated aluminium-stainless steel tubes. The
secondary heating surface is so designed that the wa-
ter vapour contained in the heating gas condenses and
the heat of evaporation is utilised for the heating circuit.
The UltraOil® is designed exclusively for operation with
low-sulphur heating oil EL.
