
Warning and caution symbols
These symbols are used throughout the instruction manual to
alert the user to potential safety hazards as follows :
Warning … Notice when incorrect handling could
cause the user's death or serious injury.
Caution … Notice when incorrect handling could cause
injury to the user or material damage.
Even if the instructions do not have Caution mark, there are
some possibilities for a serious situation. Follow the instructions.
Install a 9V dry cell battery in the battery compart-
ment. Securely connect the battery electrodes with
the sockets.

Precautions
1. If the meter pegs, stop measuring. The meter coil
could be damaged.
2. Avoid contact of the meter sensor with any charged
material. Such contact could damage the meter.
3. Be sure to press the POWER switch off when not
using the meter so as to prolong battery life. The
meter consumes the battery when the POWER
switch is on even though the MEASURE switch is
not depressed.
4. This unit has an analog meter for measuring even
slight electrification.
Electrification of this unit itself could affects the
meter needle. If recognize swinging of the needle
or feel an unusualness in the measuring result,
discharge the static electricity of this unit by
appropriate equipment.
