Huawei FreeBuds Pro Installation guide

FAQ and troubleshooting:
1. item charge is faulty, not charging
If charging fails, the charging indicator does not turn on, the battery level does not increase when you change your
HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro or charging case, perform the following to troubleshoot.
1. Check the earphones connection
Make sure that the USB cable is securely connected to the charging case and USB power adapter. Make sure that
the power adapter is inserted into the power socket correctly.
Not all charging cases are compatible with the E-mark cables (Type-C to Type-C cables with a built-in chip and a
current capacity of 5 A). It is recommended that you use the original Type-C cable to charge the earphones.
2. Clean the metal contact points of the earphones and charging case
Place the earphones into the charging case and check whether the indicator turns on. If the indicator does not turn
on, use a clean and dry cotton swab with pointed tips to gently wipe the charging contacts on the earphones and
charging case to remove foreign objects or smudges. Do this until the indicator turns on.
Do not use a wet cloth or wipe excessively, as doing so may result in water damage to the earphones or distortion of
the metallic contact points.
3. Charge the earphones or charging case for more than 10 minutes
Place the earphones in the charging case and close the charging case. Charge the earphones and charging case
for more than 10 minutes using the cable that came with your earphones
If you are using the FreeBuds Pro, charge the earphones for at least 10 minutes, remove the charging cable
(regardless of whether the indicator is normal), open the charging case, and press and hold theFunction button for
at least 10 seconds until the indicator flashes to restore the earphones to their factory settings.
4. Charge the earphones in an environment with an ambient temperature ranging from 3°C to 45°C to ensure
safe charging.

If the temperature is dramatically lower or higher than that range (below 0°C or over 47°C), you may find it difficult to
charge the earphones.
If the issue is resolved, place the earphones into the charging case, reconnect the earphones to your phone,
and update the earphones to the latest version. Then close the charging case, fully charge the earphones, and
use the earphones as normal.

of your face and cover your ears tightly.

their factory settings. Then pair with the earphones again.

6. Experienced twice that the sound became muffled when making phone calls
Calling scenarios explanation:
Environmental factors: strong wind, objects between the earphones and the phone, and electromagnetic interference.
Some phone models may use the phone's microphone instead of the microphone on the earphones when sending
voice messages in a third-party app. This may result in some noise being audible.
Solution:
Keep the earphones away from sources of interference, such as microwave ovens, metro stations, and railway
stations, or try unpairing the earphones from other connected devices.

Place the phone close to the earphones and remove any objects between them.
If the issue occurs when using a third-party app, report the issue to the app provider.
7. Case will not charge wireless , I have tried several chargers
Charge the charging case:
If the earphones stay idle for an extended period of time, charge them at least once a week to prevent the
battery from being damaged.
•Wireless charging (wireless charging version): Adjust the position of the charging case and align
the centre of the lower half of the charging case with the centre of the wireless charger. If the indicator
lights up, it indicates that it is charging normally.
oPlace the FreeBuds Pro wireless charging case with the HUAWEI logo facing up.
8. Earphones have an intermittent crackling sound, like a scratched record
Description:
The noise is generated while the frequency components in the electronic device are working. It is weak
and only audible in very quiet environments.
Compared with half-in-ear earphones, in-ear earphones' tips can achieve superior noise reduction.
Therefore, this noise can be more easily noticed by in-ear earphone users.
Solution:
1. Update the firmware of the earphones, restore the earphones to their factory settings, and try again.
2. Increase the sound volume, as the noise is only audible when sound is muted or you are in a very quiet
environment.
3. If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service
Centre or contact Huawei Customer Service at 0800 088 6700 for assistance.
