Huawei B618 Setup guide

Setup and configuring your Huawei B618 router
Step 1
Insert the SIM card into the Huawei B618
Step 2
Plug the power cable into the B618 and then into a power socket
Step 3
Press the power button
Step 4
Connect your laptop to the B618 either via WiFi or the LAN caple
Step 5
If you are using WiFi from your laptop to connect to the B618 router please follow the below
instructions.
Search for the Huawei B618 router from your laptop

Select the B618 router and click connect
Enter in the WiFi password (the password can be accessed at the bottom of the B618 router)

Open up a browser from your laptop and type in the following address 192.168.8.1
Enter in the following login credentials
Username: admin
Password: admin
An option configure your WiFi settings will appear (it is recommended to change your password for
security purposes)

WiFi user credentials changed
Complete the configuration settings as required

A request to change the password to login to the router settings is mandatory
The configuration of the B618 router is now completed.

Enterering the Vodacom SIM Pin number and disabling the PIN code request
The SIM PIN code is enabled on the Vodacom SIM, you will be required to enter in the SIM Pin
before connecting to the Vodacom network is initiated.
To disable the SIM Pin please follow the below instructions
Select the “settings” tab on the connection interface
Select the “security” and then “pin management” tab

Enter in the SIM Pin number and ensure to tick the “disbale Pin verification” box
Select “apply”
Successfully connected to the Vodacom LTE-A network
