La presente pubblicazione, ad uso delle Stazioni di Servizio HUSQVARNA, è stata
realizzataalloscopodicoadiuvareilpersonaleautorizzatonelleoperazionidimanutenzione
e riparazione dei motocicli trattati. La perfetta conoscenza dei dati tecnici qui riportati è
determinanteal fine dellapiù completa formazioneprofessionale dell’operatore.
Alloscopodirenderelalettura diimmediatacomprensionei paragrafisonostaticontraddistinti
da illustrazioni schematiche che evidenziano l’argomento trattato.
In questo manuale sono state riportate note informative con significati particolari:
Norme antinfortunistiche per l’operatore e per chi opera nelle vicinanze.
Esiste la possibilità di arrecare danno al veicolo e/o ai suoi componenti.
Ulteriori notizie inerenti l’operazione in corso.
Consigli utili
LaHUSQVARNA consiglia, onde prevenire inconvenientieperilraggiungimento di un ottimo
risultato finale, di attenersi genericamente alle seguenti norme:
– in caso di una eventuale riparazione, valutare le impressioni del Cliente che denuncia
anomaliedifunzionamentodel motocicloeformulareleopportune domandedichiarimento
suisintomi dell’inconveniente;
– diagnosticare in modo chiaro le cause dell’anomalia. Dal presente manuale si potranno
assimilarelebasi teoriche fondamentali che peraltro dovrannoessereintegratedall’espe-
rienzapersonaleedallapartecipazioneaicorsidiaddestramentoorganizzatiperiodicamen-
te dalla HUSQVARNA:
– pianificarerazionalmentelariparazioneondeevitaretempimorticomeadesempioilprelievo
di parti di ricambio, la preparazione degli attrezzi, ecc.;
– raggiungere il particolare da riparare limitandosi alle operazioni essenziali.

Norme generali sugli interventi riparativi
1 Sostituire sempre le guarnizioni, gli anelli di tenuta e le copiglie con particolari nuovi.
2 Allentandooserrandodadioviti,iniziaresempre daquellecon dimensionimaggiorioppure
dal centro. Bloccare alla coppia di serraggio prescritta seguendo un percorso incrociato.
3 Contrassegnaresempre particolari o posizioni che potrebbero esserescambiati fra di loro
all’atto del rimontaggio.
4 Usareparti diricambiooriginaliHUSQVARNA edilubrificanti delle marcheraccomandate.
5 Usare attrezzi speciali dove così è specificato.
6 Consultare le Circolari Tecniche in quanto potrebbero riportare dati di regolazione e
metodologiediintervento maggiormente aggiornate rispetto al presente manuale.

Foreword
Thispublication intended for HUSQVARNAWorkshopshas been prepared forthe purpose
of helping the authorized personnel in the maintenance and repair work of the motorcycles
herewithdealtwith.The perfect knowledge of the technical data contained herein is essential
for a more complete professional training of the operator.
The paragraphs have been completed with schematic illustrations evidencing the subject
concerned, in order to enable a more immediate understanding.
This manual contains information with particular meanings:
Accident prevention rules for the operator and for the personnel working near by.
Possibility of damaging the vehicle and/or its components.
Additionalinformation concerning theoperation under way.
Useful suggestions
HUSQVARNA suggests, in order to prevent troubles and in order to have an excellent final
result, to generically comply with the following instructions:
– in case of repair work, weigh the impressions of the Customer who complains about the
improper operation of the motorcycle, and formulate proper clearing questions about the
symptoms of the trouble.
– detect clearly the cause of the trouble. This manual gives the theoretical bases which
however shall be integrated by the personal experience and by the attendance to training
courses periodically organized by HUSQVARNA.
– rationally plan the repair work in order to prevent dead time as for instance procurement of
spare parts, tool preparation, etc.
– reach the component to be repaired and perform only the required operations.
In this connection, it will be useful to consult the disassembly sequence contained in this
manual.
General instructions for repair work
1 Always replace the seal rings and split pins with new components.
2 When loosening or tightening nuts or bolts, always start from the bigger ones or from the
center. Lock at the prescribed torque wrench setting following a crossed run.
3 Always earmark the components or positions which could be mistaken one for another at
the time of assembly.
4 Use original HUSQVARNA spare parts and the lubricants of the recommended brands.
5 Use special tools, where specified.
6 Consult the Service Bulletins as they may contain up-dated adjustment data and repair
methodologies.

Une connaissance approfondie des données techniques contenues dans ce Manuel est
essentiellepour une meilleureformation professionnelle de l’opérateur.
Pourpermettre une lecture aisémentcompréhensible, les paragraphess’accompagnent à
des illustrations schématiques pour évidencier l’argument traité.
Ce manuel contient des notes informatives aux significats spéciaux.
Normespourlapréventiondesaccidentspourl’opérateuretpourceuxquitravaillentdans
le milieu.
Possibilité d’endommager le véhicule et/ou ses organes.
Notes complémentaires concernant l’opération en cours.
Conseils utiles
Afin d’éviter des inconvénients et obtenir un résultat final optimal, la HUSQVARNA
recommande de procéder en principe de la façon suivante:
– aucasd’une réparationéventuelle,évaluertoutd’abordlesimpressionsduclientdénonçant
le fonctionnement irrégulier du motocycle et lui poser des questions appropriées pour
éclaircir les symptomes de l’inconvénient;
– faire un clair diagnostic des causes de l’inconvénient. Ce manuel donne des bases
théoriques essentielles a compléter par l’expérience personnelle et la participation aux
stages de training organisés périodiquement par la maison HUSQVARNA;
– programmer la réparation de façon rationnelle, pour éviter toute perte de temps, par ex.
l’approvisionnement des pièces de rechange, la préparation des outils, etc.;
– atteindre la pièce défectueuse en se limitant aux opérations essentielles. La consultation
de la séquence de démontage illustrée dans ce Manuel vous sera très utile.
Normes générales de réparation
1 Les joints et les anneaux de retenue, ainsi que les goupilles sont toujours à remplacer par
des pièces neuves.
2 Lorsque vous dévissez ou serrez des écrous ou des vis, commencer toujours par les plus
grandsou ducentre.Effectuer leblocagesuivantunparcourscroiséd’après lescouplesde
serragespécifiées.
3 Marquer toujours les pièces ou les emplacements qui pourraient être confondus au cours
dudémontage.
4 Employertoujours des pièces détachées d’origineHUSQVARNA et des lubrificants selon
lesmarques recommandées.
5 Employer les outils spéciaux, si spécifié.
6 Consulterles CirculairesTechniques,car ilspourraientcontenirdesdonnéesderéglage et

el fin de ayudar al personal autorizado para efectuar las operaciones de mantenimiento y
reparación de motocicletas. El perfecto conocimiento de los datos técnicos que aqui se
presentan es determinante para la completa formación profesional del mecánico.
Con el fin de que sea una lectura comprensible, los párrafos se señalan con dibujos
esquemáticos que ilustran el tema tratado. Se incluyen nuevas informaciones con
significadosespecíficos:
Normas antiaccidentes para el mecánico y para todo aquel que se encuentre en los
alrededores.
Posiblidad de dañar el vehiculo y/o sus componentes.
Otras informaciones acerca de la operación tratada.
Consejos útiles
Con el objeto de prevenir averías y para lograr un buen resultado final, HUSQVARNA
aconseja seguir las siguientes normas:
– Encasodeuna eventualreparación,téngaseencuenta lasimpresionesdelclienteal poner
en manifiesto el funcionamiento de la motocicleta y formular las preguntas oportunas y
aclaratorias sobre las causas de la avería.
– Investigar sobre las causas de la anomalía. En este manual se podrán adquirir las bases
teóricas principales que, sin embargo, tendrán que complementarse con la experiencia
personalylaparticipaciónenloscursosdeadiestramientoorganizadosperiódicamentepor
HUSQVARNA.
– Planificar racionalmente la reparación para evitar pérdidas de tiempo como, por ejemplo,
encontrar las piezas de recambio, preparación de las herramientas, etc.
– Acceder a la parte que deba repararse limitándose a las operaciones esenciales.
Con este proposito, el hecho de consultar la secuencia de desmontaje de este manual
seradegranayuda.
Normas generales para las reparaciones
1 Sustituir siempre las juntas, anillos de compresión y pasadores por otros nuevos.
2 Altener queapretaroaflojar tuercas otornillos,empezarsiempre por losdetamañomayor
o por el centro. Apretar hasta el par de torsión prescrito siguiendo un trazado encruzado.
3 Marcar siempre las piezas o posiciones que podrían confundirse durante el montaje.
4 Utilizar piezas de recambio originales HUSQVARNA y los lubricantes de la marca
recomendada.
5 Utilizar herramientas especiales donde se especifique.
6 Consultar las circulares técnicas que podrán contener datos de regulación y métodos de
reparación mejorados respecto a los del manual.

Il modelli SM 400-450R possono essere utilizzati, in alternativa:
a) come motociclo DA COMPETIZIONE garantito esente da difetti di funzionamento; la tabella di manutenzione consigliata per
uso agonistico è riportata al capitolo B

b) come motociclo STRADALE e pertanto COPERTO da garanzia a condizione che vengano TASSATIVAMENTE rispettate le
prescrizioni della tabella di manutenzione riportata al capitolo B.
The SM 400- 450R models can be used, alternatively:
a) as a guaranteed COMPETITION motorcycle exempt from functional defects;the suggested maintenance table for competition
use is shown on chapter B
or
b) as a ROAD motorcycle and thus COVERED by guarantee on the condition that the prescribed maintenance table on chapter B

b) wie STRAßEN Motorrad und also Garantie DECKE, unter Bedingung, die ihr ABSOLUT die Hinweise von der Tabelle von
Wartung beachtet werdet, die es zur Kapitel B ist.
Los modelos SM 400 - 450R puede ser utilizados, en alternativa:
a) como motociclo DE COMPETICIÓN garantizada eximida por funcionamientos defectuosos; el tablero de manutención
aconsejado para uso agonístico se encuentra en el capitulo B
0 bien
b) como motociclo PARA USO VIAL y por tanto CUBIERTO por garantía a condición que sean respetadas
ESCRUPULOSAMENTE las prescripciones del tablero de manutención que se encuentran en el capitulo B.

This motorcycles was not designed for long trips with the engine always at maximum rpm as can occur whilst travelling on
roads or highways. Long trips at full throttle can cause severe damage to the engine.

In order to maintain the vehicle’s “Guarantee of Functionality”, the client must follow the maintenance program indicated in the
chapter B by carrying out maintenance checks at authorized HUSQVARNA dealers. The cost for substituting parts and for the
labour necessary in order to respect the maintenance plan, is charged to the client. The guarantee is EXTINGUISHED in the
case where the motorcycle is rented.

2) ATTENZIONE*
Questo motociclo dispone di avviamento elettrico ed è prodotto in due versioni.
VERSIONE “A”: con pulsanti di avviamento (1) e di stop motore (2);
VERSIONE “B”: con pulsante di avviamento (1) ed interruttore avviamento- arresto motore (3).
VERSIONE “A”
Questo motociclo NON dispone di interruttore per lavviamento-arresto motore pertanto, quando si opera sul veicolo, esiste il
pericolo di avviare il motore se inavvertitamente si toccasse il pulsante dell’interruttore sulla destra del manubrio.
Di conseguenza, PER TUTTE QUELLE OPERAZIONI CHE POTESSERO ANCHE MINIMAMENTE COMPORTARE IL RISCHIO DI
AVVIAMENTO ACCIDENTALE DEL MOTORE, É TASSATIVO SCOLLEGARE LA BATTERIA DALL’IMPIANTO ELETTRICO secondo le
istruzioni che seguono.
Per accedere alla batteria (3), è necessario:
- rimuovere la sella dopo aver ruotato in senso antiorario il perno posteriore (1) di fissaggio;
- sganciare l’elastico (2);
- rimuovere per primo il cavo negativo NERO poi quello positivo ROSSO (in fase di rimontaggio, collegare per primo il cavo
positivo ROSSO poi quello negativo NERO);
- estrarre la batteria (3) dal proprio alloggiamento.
Rimossa la batteria, premere UNA VOLTA SUL PULSANTE AVVIAMENTO motore per scaricare il condensatore (4) montato in
prossimità della bobina A.T.(5).
: dopo aver tolto la batteria NON rimuovere il condensatore perché, in caso di avviamento in questa condizione, si bruce-
rebbe il regolatore di tensione.
Nella VERSIONE “B”, per avviare il motore è necessario premere sull’interruttore (3) quindi sul pulsante (1).
2) ATTENTION*
This motorcycle is equipped with electric start and it is manufactured in two different versions.
“A” VERSION : motorcycle equipped with engine start button (1) and engine stop button (2);
“B” VERSION : motorcycle equipped with engine start button (1) and engine start - stop switch (3).
VERSION “A”
This motorcycle is NOT equipped with start-stop switch, therefore when working on the vehicle, there is the danger of engine
startup if the starter switch is inadvertently touched.
Consequently, FOR ALL THOSE OPERATIONS WHICH MAY EVEN HAVE A MINIMAL CHANCE OFACCIDENTALLY STARTING-UP
THE ENGINE, IT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY by following the instructions herewith.
To gain access to the battery (3):
- first turn counterclockwise fastening rear pin (1) then remove the saddle;
- release elastic (2);
- first remove the BLACK negative cable, then the RED positive cable (when reassembling, first connect the RED positive cable,
then the BLACK negative cable);
- remove the battery (3) from its housing.
After battery removal, push ONCE THE ENGINE START BUTTON in order to discharge the condenser (4) fastened near the H.T.
coil (5).
: after battery disassembly, DO NOT REMOVE the condenser from the frame: in case of engine starting in this condition, the
voltage regulator will be damaged.
VERSION “B”: in order to start the engine, it is necessary to push the switch (3) then the start button (1).
