WhatAboutGasohol?
Gasohol(amixtureof90%unleadedgasoline
and10%ethanolorgrainalcohol)maybeused
inyourHyundai.However,ifyourenginedevel-
opsdriveabilityproblems,theuseof100%
unleadedgasolineisrecommended.
Fuelswithunspecifiedquantitiesofalcohol,or
alcoholsotherthanethanol,shouldnotbeused.

DonotUseMethanol
Fuelscontainingmethanol(woodalcohol)should
notbeusedinyourHyundai.Thistypeoffuel
canreducevehicleperformanceanddamage
componentsofthefuelsystem.
CAUTION:
YourHyundai'sNewVehicleLimitedWar-
rantymaynotcoverdamagetothefuel
systemandperformanceproblemsthatare
causedbytheuseofmethanolorfuels
containingmethanol.
Unleadedgasolinewitha PumpOctaneRating
of87(ResearchOctaneNumber91)orhigher
mustbeusedinHyundaivehicle.Ifleaded
gasolineisused,itwillcausethecatalytic
convertertobecomeineffectiveandtheemis-
sioncontrolsystemtomalfunction.
Thiscanalsoresultinincreasedmaintenance
expense.Toavoidaccidentaluseofleaded
fuel,thelargenozzleusedwithleadedgasoline
atservicestationscannotbeinsertedintofuel
tankopeningofHyundaivehicle.

GasolinesforCleanerAir
Tohelpcontributetocleanerair,Hyundairec-
ommendsthatyouusegasolinestreatedwith
detergentadditives,whichhelppreventdeposit
formationintheengine.Thesegasolineswill
helptheengineruncleanerandtheEmission
ControlSystemperformance.
