Power
This set operates on a
DC supply provided by
the AC-DC adaptor,
the voltage is as indi-
cated on the label on
the back cover. Use
only the AC-DC adap-
tor supplied with the
set and never apply an
AC mains to the set
directly. The AC-DC
adaptor operates on
an AC mains supply,
the voltage is as indi-
cated on the label of
the AC-DC adaptor.
a. Connect the DC
plug of theAC-DC adaptor to the 12V socket of the set.
b. Connect the AC-DC adaptor and it’s power cord.
c. Connect the power cord to an AC mains.
In the event of thunderstorms or powercuts, please pull out
the mains plug of the AC-DC adaptor and the aerial plug.
Do not allow anything to rest upon or roll over the power
cord, and do not place the monitor where the power cord is
subject to damage.
Warning
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the set to
rain or moisture. Do not rub or strike the Active Matrix LCD
with anything hard as this may scratch, mar, or damage the
Active Matrix LCD permanently.
Service
Never remove the back cover of the set as this can expose
you to high voltage and other hazards. If the set does not
operate properly, unplug it and call your dealer.
Aerial
Connect the aerial cable to the
socket marked +75 Ωon the
back. For the best reception an
outdoor aerial should be used.
Location
Position your set so that no
bright light or sunlight falls
directly onto the screen. Care should be taken not to
expose the set to any unnecessary vibration, moisture,
dust or heat.Also ensure that the set is placed in a position
to allow a free flow of air. Do not cover the ventilation open-
ings on the back cover.
The standing angle can be adjusted as shown in pictures.
When you install the set to use the wall mounting bracket
(optional parts), fix it carefully so as not to drop.
Cleaning
Unplug the set before cleaning the face of the LCD Screen.
Dust the set by wiping the screen and the cabinet with a
soft, clean cloth. If the screen requires additional cleaning,
use a clean, damp cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or
aerosol cleaners.

Some functions can also be adjusted with the buttons on the front panel of the set.

The remote control handset is powered by two AAA/Alkaline type batteries.
To insert batteries, turn the remote
control handset over and remove the
battery cover.

To avoid damage from possible battery leakage, remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the remote control hand-

illuminates red in standby mode.

1. POWER CORD SOCKET

Connect the set output socket of the PERSONAL COM-
PUTER to this socket.

connect the euro scart socket of the VCR to these sock-

You can connect additional equipment, such as VCRs, camcorders etc. to your set. Examples are shown below.
1.Connect the RF out socket of the VCR to the aerial
socket of the set.
2.Connect the aerial cable to the RF aerial in socket of
the VCR.
3.Store the VCR channel on a desired programme num-
ber using the ‘Manual programme tuning’ section.
4.Select the programme number where the VCR channel
is stored.
5.Press the PLAY button on the VCR.
- If you connect an S-VIDEO
VCR to the S-VIDEO input,
the picture quality is
improved ; compared to con-
necting a regular VCR to the
Video input.
If a 4:3 picture format is
used;the fixed imgae may
remain visible on the screen.
- To avoid picture noise (inter-
ference), leave an adequate
distance between the VCR
and set.
1.Use the INPUT SELECT button on the remote control
to select AV1 or AV2.
(If connected to S-VIDEO, select the SAV external input
source.)
2. Insert a video tape into the VCR and press the PLAY
button on the VCR.

After subscribing for a local cable TV station and
installing a converter you can watch cable TV.
For further information of cable TV, contact the local TV
station.
In using connection 1
1.Select programme number in programme switch of
cable box.
2.Match the set programme with selected programme of
cable box.
3. Select your desired programme with the remote control
for cable box.
In using connection 2
1.Use the INPUT SELECT button on the remote control
and select AV1 or AV2.
2.Tune to cable service provided channels using the
cable box.
When connecting the set to an external source,match
the colours ofAUDIO/VIDEO input jacks on the set with
the output jacks on the audio/video eqipment : Video =
yellow, Audion(Left) = white, Audio (Right) = red.
1.Use the INPUT SELECT button on the remote control
to select AV1 or AV2.
2.Operate the corresponding external equipment.

How to connect
Connect DVD Video or S-Video output to VIDEO or S-VIDEO input and DVD Audio outputs to AUDIO INPUT of the
TV.
How to use
1.Turn on the DVD player, and insert a DVD.
2.Use INPUT SELECT button on the remote control to select AV1 or AV2. Refer to the DVD player's manual for oper-
ating instructions.

1.Connect the signal cable from the monitor output
socket of the PERSONAL COMPUTER to the RGB
INPUT (PC/DTV INPUT) socket of the set.
2.Connect the audio cable from the PC to the L/R IN
sockets of the set.
3.Press the INPUT SELECT button to select PC.
4.Switch on the PC, and the PC screen appears on the
set.

- To watch digitally broadcast programs, pur-
chase and connect a digital set-top box.
How to connect
Use the set’s RGB jack for video connections,
depending on your set-top box connector. Then,
make the corresponding audio connections.
How to use
1.Turn on the digital set-top box. (Refer to the
owner’s manual for the digital set-top box.)
2.Use INPUT SELECT button on the remote con-
trol to select PC.

Up to 100 TV stations can be stored in this set by programme numbers (0 to 99). Once you have preset the stations, you will
be able to use the DD/ EEor NUMBER buttons to scan the stations you have programmed. Stations can be tuned using auto-
matic or manual modes.
All stations that can be received are stored by this method. It is recommended that you use auto programme during instal-
lation of this set.

Select the beginning programme number with
the FF/ GGbutton or NUMBER buttons. Any
number under 10 is entered with a numeric Ô0Õ
in front of it, i.e. Ô05Õfor 5.
Press the OK button.

Press the DD/ EEbutton to select Start.
Press the OK button to begin auto program-
ming.
All receivable stations are stored. The station
name is stored for stations which broadcast
VPS (Video Programme Service), PDC
(Programme Delivery Control) or TELETEXT
data. If no station name can be assigned to a
station, the channel number is assigned and
stored as C(V/UHF 01-69) or S(Cable 01-47),
followed by a number.
To stop auto programming, press the MENU
button.
When auto programming is completed, the
Programme edit menu appears on the
screen. See the ‘Programme edit’ section to
edit the stored programme.

Manual programme lets you manually tune and arrange the stations in whatever order you desire.
Also you can assign a station name with five characters to each programme number.

Repeatedly press the MENU button to select the Station
menu.
Press the DD/ EEbutton to select Manual programme.
Press the OK button to display the Manual programme
menu.
Press the DD/ EEbutton to select Name.
Press the GGbutton and then DD/ EEbutton to use a blank,
+, -, the numeric 0to 9and the alphabet Ato Z.
Select the next position by pressing the FF/ GGbutton and
then make your choice of the second character, and so on.
Press the OK button.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to normal TV
viewing.

skipped it means that you will be
unable to select it using the DD/ EE
button during normal TV viewing.
If you want to select the skipped
programme, directly enter the pro-
gramme number with the NUM-
BER buttons or select it in the pro-
gramme edit or table menu.

Then press the OK button.
The set switches to the chosen programme number.
Selecting a programme in the programme table
There are 10 programme table pages in which contain 100 pro-
grammes.
Pressing the DD/ EEor FF/ GGbutton repeatedly turns the pages.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to normal TV viewing.
Paging through a programme table
You can check the programmes stored in the memory by displaying the
programme table.

This function lets you select your favourite pro-
grammes directly.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to select
the
Station menu.
Press the DD/ EEbutton to select Favourite
programme.
Press the OK button to display the Favourite
programme menu.
Press the FF/ GGbutton to select On or Off.
Press the DD/ EEbutton to select -- -----.
Select a desired programme with the FF/ GGbut-
ton or NUMBER buttons. Any number under 10
is entered with a numeric Ô0Õin front of it, i.e. Ô05Õ
for 5.
You can store up to 5 programmes.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to
normal TV viewing.
Repeatedly press the Q.VIEW button to select
stored favourite programmes.
Favourite programme Calling the programme table
Press the LIST button to display the Programme table menu.
The programme table appears on the screen. One programme table
contains ten programmes as below.

programme table.
Calling the programme table
Press the LIST button to display the Programme table menu.
The programme table appears on the screen. One programme table
contains ten programmes as below.
Note :
a. You may find some blue programmes. They have been set up to be
skipped by auto programming or in the programme edit mode.
b. Some programmes with the channel number shown in the pro-
gramme table indicate there is no station name assigned.

Repeatedly press the MENU button to select the Picture
menu.
Press the DD/ EEbutton to select the desired picture item.
Press the FF/ GGbutton to make appropriate adjustments.
Press the OK button to store it for the picture User.
The display Stored appears.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to normal TV
viewing.
You can also recall a desired picture (Dynamic,
Standard, Mild, Game or User) with PSM button on the
remote control.
The picture Dynamic, Standard, Mild and Game are
programmed for optimum picture reproduction at the factory
and cannot be changed.

Picture adjustment
To initialize values (reset to default settings), select
the Normal option. When adjusting color tempera-
ture options (red, green or blue) manually, CSM is
automatically changed to User.
Press the MENU button and then DD/EEbutton to
select the PICTURE menu.
Press the GGbutton and then DD/EEbutton to select
CSM.
Press the GGbutton and then DD/EEbutton to select the
desired colour temperature.
Press the MENU button to save.

You can watch TV in various picture formats; 16:9, 14:9, 4:3, Zoom 1, Zoom 2, Auto.
Repeatedly press the ARC button to select your desired picture format.
1. Press the ARC button to select a desired picture format.
• Each press of ARC button changes the screen display as shown below.
• You can also select 16:9, 14:9,4:3, Zoom 1,Zoom 2, Auto in the SCREEN menu.
Note :
a. 16:9 and 4:3 are available in PC mode only.
b. If 4:3 is on the screen for a long time, that fixed image may remain visible.
