Please study the instructions and information below carefully before using your new
loudspeakers.
A500 Series Loudspeakers
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
This manual contains features, setup recommendations and specifications for the IBIS A500
series loudspeakers, We recommend you thoroughly read through the material contained in
this manual before connecting your speakers. This will ensure you have good understanding
of how to setup your speakers for optimum performance and allow for years of listening
enjoyment!
The A500 series are designed for multiple purposes, in accordance with it, the closed die cast
box is used, it can be mounted on the wall and keep good sound quality, and can be placed
on stand for another option.
Because of the excellent design, they will have outstanding performance in the
applications below:
1. In 5.1 home theater mode, 1set x A500-60 + 1pc x HSUB3080 or 1pc x HSUB3100.
2. In 7.1 home theater mode, 1set x A500-60 + 1set x A500-20 + 1pc x HSUB3080 or 1pc x
HSUB3100.
3. In stereo mode for music listerening, 1set x A500-20. (or add 1pc x HSUB3080)
4. In 2.1 multi-media mode, 1set x A500-20 + 1pc x subwoofer with 2.1 channel amplifier.
5. As high-end speaker box for inteligent background music system in house.
6. As high-end speaker box for outdoor music system.
7. As high-end speaker box for Dolby Atmos home theater mode.
Furthermore two different packing are provided to choose from.
1. A500-20, there are 2 speakers in carton.
2. A500-60, there are 6 speakers in carton.
The exception of the H subwoofers (HSUB3080 & HSUB3100) which have
their own manual.

THE A500 SERIES LOUDSPEAKERS IN STEREO MODE
POWER REQUIREMENTS
Amplifiers with power outputs between those noted in the loudspeaker specifications will
generally be adequate, although more powerful amplifiers can be used if care is taken to
avoid overdriving the loudspeakers.
Always use the volume control with discretion, and reduce the level immediately should the
loudspeakers begin to distort.
Amplifiers capable of less than 15 Watts per channel output are best avoided because they
will restrict the dynamic range. Such amplifiers may also cause damage to the loudspeakers if
they are driven beyond their capability in an attempt to obtain high volume levels.
The clipping distortion produced when an amplifier is driven beyond its normal output
capablity can be very destructive. A powerful amplifier operating well inside its capability will
generally be less likely to damage your loudspeakers than a lower power amplifier operating
beyond its capacity.
NOTE
Do not make or break loudspeaker connections to the amplifier when it is turned on!
POSITIONING
IBIS A500 series loudspeakers are designed to be positioned as specified. Space should be
left behind the loudspeakers to ensure establishment of good stereo image depth. Some
experimentation may be necessary to establish the ideal position within your listening room.

Begin by postioning the loudspeakers about 20cm from the rear wall and gradually move
them out a little until you achieve the best balance between bass weight and definition.
Avoid placing the loudspeakers in corners because this may cause a doubling of low
frequency output. Try to leave at least 40cm of space between each loudspeaker and the
nearest side wall.
The optimum stereo performance will be achieved when the speakers are positioned 2meters
or more from the listener and about the same distance from one another. Turning the
speakers in very slightly towards the listener often helps to stabilize the stereo image. (Fig. 1)
Speakers “image” best if you can just see the top face of the speaker from your listening
position.
Remember, there is no absolute right or wrong – if it sounds good, it is good.
QUICK CONNECTIONS
Your IBIS A500 series loudspeakers are equipped with gold-plated binding posts with
excellent electrical contact and current specification. Please always use a good quality
loudspeaker connection cable from an audio dealer. To prevent impairment of sound quality,
we recommend cables with cross-sections of at least 2.5 mm² for lengths up to 3 m and at
least 4 mm² for lengths above 3 m.
Always switch off the amplifier or receiver before connecting or disconnecting loudspeaker
cables. Place the loudspeakers in their planned positions and cut the cables to the right
length. The cables for both channels should always be exactly the same length.
Strip 10 – 15 mm of insulation from the ends of the cables. Twist the ends – this is much
better than tinning them with solder – insert them in the terminals and tighten the terminal
screws firmly.
For good sound it is imperative that the cables must be connected in such a way that the
speakers are “in phase”. This means that the black negative terminals on the speakers (-)
must be connected to the negative (-) terminals on the amplifier, the red positive (+) speaker
terminals to the positive (+) amplifier terminals. To make this easier one wire of most speaker
cables is marked with a coloured strip or a ridge in the insulation.
Before switching on the system double-check all your connections and make sure that the
terminal screws are tight and that there are no short circuits caused by stray wire filaments –
this could cause serious damage to your amplifier!
The driver units are now electrically separate and should be connected to the driving amplifier
with individual high quality cables.
WARNING
Ensure that your amplifier is switched off before you make, or break, any connections, as

damage may occur to your amplifier if shorted.
The sockets on the loudspeaker marked red(on the right side as you look at the loudspeaker
rear panel)should be connected to the red (or positive)output terminals on your amplifier,while
the sockets marked black should be connected to the black(or negative)output terminals on
your amplifier.
Use good quality cable to connect your loudspeakers to the amplifier. Ensure that the cables
from each speaker are of roughly equal length and that any surplus is gathered in a loose
hank.
Do not coil the surplus tightly.
PHASE
If the cables are not connected to each left and right speaker in the same way, i.e.black and
red reversed in one, the effect will be incorrect phasiing. This will cause the bass to disappear
and the stereo image to spread from the middle to a position outside the two speakers.
Correctly wiring the polarity of the speakers will restore the image to between the speakers
and provide proper bass. Most speaker cables have a polarizing mark, such as a raised bump
or writing on the positive wire.
LISTENING
Switch the amplifier on with the volume tured down low. Check that the bass and treble
sounds come from both speakers. If not, switch off and remake the connections.
RUNNING IN
Your IBIS A500 loudspeakers require a little gentle use to allow their working components
to settle into their proper working routine.
Do not concerned if your new speakers sound aggressive and lacking in low-frequency
authority when you first begin to use them. Things will quickly improve. Allow between
twenty-four and forty-eight hours of use before you expect your new loudspeakers to perform
to their full capacity.
ALWAYS REMEMBER
- Lower the volume before making any adjustments to the system(e.g. switching
amplifier inputs or raising or lowering pickup arm).
- Switch off the amplifier before checking or making any changes to any connections in
the system.
NEVER
Try to find out how loud the system will go.
Use your loudspeakers for any other purpose other than domestic listening.

DISCLAIMER
The 4mm plugs used on moderm Hi-Fi speaker cables can be insert into mains sockets.
Needless to say, this is pointless and can be fatal if tried. Make sure that young menembers of
family are prevented from ever doing this.
THE A500 SERIES LOUDSPEAKERS IN HOME THEATER MODE
Room setup suggestions
In order to obtain the best possible sound from your loudspeaker system, it is important to
determine where the loudspeakers will sound best in your listening room. Room reflections
from the floor, ceiling and side walls influence the balance, imaging and overall sonic quality
at the listening position. Experiment with loudspeaker placement to determine which location
offers the best overall sound. As a general guide, use the room layout diagram and the
following descriptions when setting up a home theater system. (Fig.2)
AS FRONT MAIN LOUDSPEAKERS
As a starting point, place your left and right front speakers at least 2m apart from each other.
The distance from the listening position to each speaker should be close to the distance that
separates the two main speakers. Angling the speakers inward towards the listening position
may give a more spacious and realistic sound stage. The A500 loudspeakers should be
mounted on the wall or placed on stands which places the tweeters close to ear height.
AS CENTER LOUDSPEAKERS
Specially provides 2pcs A500 loudspeakers in parallel as center channel, they visually and
acoustically ideally matches the 5.1 or 7.1 home theater modes. The loudspeaker is placed
immediately either directly above or underneath the television set, since all A500
loudspeakers are magnetic shielded, they may be placed in close proximity to a televsion
without cause for concern. Otherwise please adhere to the general recommendations
outlined in the previous chapters.
AS REAR SURROUND OR SIDE REAR SURROUND LOUDSPEAKERS
The Surround Speakers may be placed either above, behind or to the sides of the listening
position. The listening position should be centered between the surround speakers. For best
performance, you may want to experiment with angling the surround speakers either towards
or away from the listening position.
IBIS SUBWOOFERS - HSUB3080 & HSUB3100
Placement of the subwoofer will largely determine quality, quantity, and extension of the bass
frequencies within your listening room. Bass frequencies are reinforced by close room
boundaries. Placing the subwoofer in a corner will make the subwoofer sound louder and
boost the very lowest frequencies. Placing the subwoofer away from walls will provide the
least reinforcement, making the bass sound subjectively thinner than if the woofer were close
to a wall. Good results can usually be obtained by placing a subwoofer along a wall 1-3feet

from a corner. Experiment with subwoofer placement and the sub-amplifier controls to
achieve the proper bass balance.
The IBIS high power active subwoofers HSUB3080 & HSUB3100 visually and acoustically
ideally matches the other loudspeakers in the H series and A500 series. Please refer to the
separate operating instructions supplied with this product.
CONNECTING TO AN AV RECEIVER
Figs. 3 and 4 show two different methods of connecting to AV receivers.

WARRANTY
CHINA
Your IBIS A500 Series Loudspeakers have been built to very high standards and should
give many years of trouble-free service.
If within five years of purcharse they do prove to be defective for any reason other than
accident, misuse, neglect, unauthorized modification or fair wear and tear such as cabinet
surface and grille etcetera, we will repair the defect, or at our option, replace the faulty
speakers without charge for parts, labour or return carriage.
Your purchase recepit must be retained as it will be required in the event that you should need
to claim warranty attention.
This warranty is applicable in China only and given in addition to your statutory rights.
OUTSIDE CHINA
Service enquiries in countries other than China should be addressed to the local IBIS agent
or distributor. Warranties gr anted in these countries are entirely at the discretion of the agent
or distributor.

使用说明
本说明书包含 IBIS A500 系列的产品功能参数和使用说明，我们建议你在连接你的扬声

A500 是专为不同场所多用途而设计的高品质音箱，选用密闭式的压铸铝音箱壳体具有非常好

基于 A500 不倒翁系列音箱非常优秀的设计和性能表现，它可以自由的搭配组合并应用在不同

1. 在5.1 声道的影院模式组合：1组A500-60 搭配 1只低音炮 HSUB3080 或者 HSUB3100。
2. 在7.1 声道的影院模式组合：1组A500-60 加上 1组A500-20 再搭配 1只低音炮 HSUB3100
或者 HSUB3080。
3. 在双声道立体声模式下：1组A500-20 即可。(也可以搭配 HSUB3080 使用)。

本产品用于立体声模式时
功率需求
功率放大器的功率要与扬声器系统所指示的承受功率相匹配；更大功率的功放也可以使用，
但是要小心以避免超过音箱的承载功率而造成音箱的损坏！
使用音量控制旋钮时，要注意控制音量，当扬声器系统有异常的声音时要立即减小音量。
在选择功率放大器时，每声道放大功率建议在 15 瓦以上，否则低频动态会受到限制，且此
类功放如果始终超负荷工作也会对音响造成损伤。
当功率放大器以超正常功率工作时，会有剪切失真产生且具非常大的破坏力。相比较一台
小功率放大器如果以超负荷状态工作对比一台大功率放大器但在额定功率下工作时，它对扬声
器系统的破坏力明显是大很多的。
注意
当功率放大器在工作状态时，不要操作与音箱之间的连接 (取下或者连接)。
摆位
IBIS 音箱的摆位必须依照相关规则，音箱后部的空间必须足够并且可以确保有好的立体
声声场的深度。在视听室里变换不同的位置来试听测试有时候是必须的手段，以此取得最佳的
音箱摆放位置。
从20cm 开始，逐渐往前一点一点移动音箱，直到在低频和清晰度之间找到最好的平衡。
避免将音箱放置在墙角，这样会导致低频部分倍增。尽量保持每只音箱距离左或右侧墙壁
至少 40cm 以上。
当两只音箱之间距离在 2米或以上，同时每只音箱距离听音者相同的距离（2.5 米或以上），
可以达到最佳的听音效果。朝着听音者轻微的转动音箱可以更好的建立立体声效果。(图示 1)
当听音时，如果听音者的眼睛刚好可以看到音箱的顶部，此时往往有最佳的声像。记住，
没有绝对的好或不好，如果您感觉是好的声音，就是好的声音。

快速连接
请使用高品质的音响线材来减少由此带来的音质损害，线长度在 3米以下时线的横截面积
最少 2.5 mm²， 线长度在 3米以上时线材的横截面积最少在 4 mm²。
在连接或者去除连接线材时务必谨记要关闭放大器，放置好音箱后，再依此剪下合适长度
的线材，注意左右两只音箱使用的线材长度要相同。
在线材的末端剥除 10-15mm 的绝缘层并将裸露的金属线材拧成麻花状，这比用焊锡处理
裸露的金属线材效果更好。将拧成麻花状的线材穿进接线柱并拧紧接线柱。（见图 1）
线材的正负极被正确的连接在音箱和放大器是取得好声音的前提，这样音箱的相位才会正
确。音箱上黑色的负极接线柱（—）必须与放大器的负极（—）相连接，音箱上红色的正极接
线柱（+）必须与放大器的正极（+）相连接。为了方便使用者，市场上线材的一根线芯绝缘层
上往往带有纹路或着色以作为区分标记。
在打开放大器前再次检查连接是否正确有无松动，并且注意线材不要有毛头，防止引起短
路，短路会造成放大器严重的损坏。
谨记
在放大器与音箱之间进行连接或者去除连接时务必关闭放大器电源，否则操作如果有误引
起短路会严重损坏放大器。
音箱上红色标记的接线柱接口（面向音箱后部时，位于您的右侧），应该与放大器的红色
（或者正极）的输出接线柱连接；相同的，音箱上黑色的接线柱应与放大器上黑色（或者负极）
的接线柱相连。
您的 IBIS 音箱装备了出色的镀金接线柱，信号传输能力非常优秀。尽量使用高品质的音
箱线连接音箱与放大器，左右两条音箱线的长度尽量相等。
过长的线需要用线卡整理好，但是不能绕圈。
相位
如果左右音箱线没有按照相同的方式连接，如其中一个红黑颠倒，相位就会不正确。这会
导致低频消失同时立体声的声像会从两音箱之间飘移到两音箱之外的位置。
正确的极性连接可以使声像恢复在两音箱之间并提供很好的低频，大部分的音箱线都有相
应的标记来区分正负极，如正极上有凸起或者印刷记号。
试听
打开放大器电源同时调节音量旋扭在较小位置，检查左右音箱是否都有低频和高频声音输
出，如果不，关闭放大器电源检查音箱和放大器之间的连接并重新正确连接。
使用
IBIS 音箱产品需要一段时间的使用来使各个喇叭振动部件处于稳定的工作状态
当第一次使用您新的音箱时，如果听起来有些生硬且低频不足时请不要担心，事情会很快

有改善，在初次使用 24-48 小时后本产品会令您感受到她全部的性能
谨记 在做任何调整前务必调低音量（如切换放大器的输入或者移动放大器）
在检查或者改变音箱与放大器的连接前务必关闭放大器
不要尝试系统的最大音量
消费者会用 4mm 的香蕉插头来配合音箱线材，因为香蕉插头可以轻易插进电源插座的孔
里而造成灾难，确保家里的小孩永远不要尝试此动作。
A500 系列音箱在电影院模式下使用
安装位置设置建议
为了获得最佳的音质性能表现，在房间内确认最佳的音箱位置是非常重要的一点。房间的地板，
天花板和墙壁的声波反射都影响着音质的平衡感，声场成像和整体的音质表现。不断移动音箱
的位置来测试并决定最佳的音箱摆放位置是必须的。作为一个常规的指导，请参考图片 2来设
定。
作为前置主音箱使用
前置音箱尽可能摆放在以电视为中心的位置（左右距离相等），同时与耳朵保持大致大致高度。
先将2只前置音箱放置在你的左右位置距离墙壁30cm，两只音箱距离2.5米，左右音箱距离听音
者的位置尽量与音箱之间的距离保持一致。
作为中置音箱使用
A500系列特别提供两只A500音箱并联作为中置声道音箱使用，极大的改善了普通中置音箱在
声场定位方面的不足。音箱放置在电视的上或下面（或者投影幕布的后面），因为所有的A500
音箱都是防磁设计，即使紧贴电视也不会有不良的影响。
作为侧环绕或者后环绕音箱使用
作为后环绕音箱可以放置在听音位置后面的左右位置，高度保持与耳朵大致高度或略高。
作为侧环绕音箱可以放置在听音位置的左右两侧位置，高度保持与耳朵大致高度或略高。
IBIS 大功率低音炮系列- HSUB3080 & HSUB3100
低音炮的品质好坏极大的决定了影院音效的震撼效果。低音炮在影音室的摆放位置也会很大程
度的影响低音的质量数量和延伸。靠近墙壁会加强低音的效果；摆放在墙角的位置更会倍增低
频响应同时延伸放大极低频响应。远离墙壁会减少对低频的增益，没有靠近墙壁时的低频丰满
感受。一般来说，沿着墙壁25-75cm的墙角放置可以得到比较满意的低频效果，不断测试低音炮
的摆放位置和功放的各项调节功能来实现最理想的低音效果。
HSUB3100 & HSUB3080 是IBIS 专为高要求定制化家庭影院而设计的大功率低音炮音箱，
产品外观和结构新颖紧凑，与 H系列和 A500 系列音箱完美搭配。视影院空间大小可以单只，
亦可双只同时使用，方便消费者选择。具体请参考此型号包装内专属的操作说明书。
