The Compact Cool is a popular lower cost system
for fast cooling of a single person pool. It provides
impressive cooling power of 5000 watts. Fully
automatic control and excellent mobility. Quiet
operation with the latest technology powerful
low noise turbo fan.
The Compact Dual Temp provides all the power
and functions of the Compact Cool with the
added benefit of heating as well as powerful
cooling for advanced contrast therapy sessions.
It can provide any temperature used in recovery
therapy.
The Compact XP set the standard as the most
powerful advanced heat pump ever available in
a cost effective mobile system. 7400 watts of
cooling and heating in this amazing compact
mobile package. For very fast cooling, or for
bigger pools, the XP is the best mobile ice bath

Step 1: Connecting The Water Hoses
to Your Pool

Alternative Hoses and Pumps
iCool machines are sometimes delivered with different pumps, hose sets and water connectors depending on the owners
intended use. The direction of the water flow will always be as shown regardless of the hose and connector colours.
In these cases simply follow the direction of the water flow as shown in these illustrations.

Step 2: Connecting The Water Hoses*
To Your Water Circulation Pump
FROM the Bottom of your Pool
TO the Top of your Pool
Note! Your pump may not look exactly like this one, but the connections are
exactly the same no matter which pump was provided.
The shorter length of hose with RED connectors, connects between the BOTTOM fitting on the Compact and to the TOP
fitting on your water circulation pump as shown below.
The longer length of hose with RED connectors, connects between the BOTTOM fitting on the pool and the BOTTOM fitting
on your water circulation pump.
The longer length of smaller diameter hose with the GREEN connectors, connects between the TOP fitting on your Compact
and the TOP of your pool.
*Depending on the model and country of delivery
your hoses and fittings may not be the same as in this
illustration, but the connection and flow direction will
be the same.

Basic Setup
Step 3: Connecting Electric Power
to your Compact machine and your water Pump
On if power is connected

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE!
As a safety precaution the power inlet
and outlet sockets are recessed in to the
cabinet and angled upwards at 20º to
prevent splashing or rain from entering.
Take care when inserting.
Also, the combined Main Power Switch
and Electrical Safety Device is recessed
in to the cabinet to protect it from
splashing.
If this device detects any unsafe
electrical leakage it instantly removes all
electric power from both the chiller and
the water pump.

Turn on MAIN POWER here
Plug the MAIN POWER in here.
You must use the correct voltage as
shown above this socket.
Plug the WATER PUMP in here.
If not using the water pump provided
do not use pumps exceeding 1000
watts.
Make sure that you do not connect your Compact machine to the wrong voltage.
Please check the voltage on the name plate above the power IN socket. It is either a 220 volt model or a 110 volt model.
You must not connect to the wrong voltage or this will cause serious damage.
The Water Pump must be connected to the special socket on the Compact Machine as shown.
Warning! You can only use the voltage
marked here. Using a different voltage
will cause serious damage.

Step 4: The Touch Screen Controller

AUTOMATIC START BUTTON
The all new modern user interface has been completely redesigned to provide completely automatic start up and
operational. Just set the temperature you need and touch the START Button.
Intelligent Water Flow correction
If the water does not flow steadily when you first start up due to air being trapped in the hoses to and from the pool or inside
the water pump your iCool will attempt to clear it automatically 3 times.
If this is not successful the touch screen will direct you on how to correct this issue.

Starting Up
Turn on the MAIN POWER SWITCH.
The Touch Screen will be blank for a few seconds and then the iCool Logo will appear.
This will continue until your machine has loaded its operating software and run a full system check.
Do no touch the screen during this self test proceedure. Wait for the Welcome screen to appear.

A Welcome screen movie of ice and snow indicates that the machine has loaded the latest software
and all safety checks have been completed successfully.
The logo light bar located on the top of your machine will be white.
TOUCH the screen anywhere and the Main Operating Screen will appear.

Cold Setting
To SELECT the TEMPERATURE you require simply touch the +or -buttons repeatedly until the large
number above these buttons displays the COLD temperature you need.
Quickly touch the SET button to lock it in.
Your SET Temperature will now be displayed on the left side as the TARGET Temperature and the large
numbers in the middle will now display the actual POOL WATER Temperature.
For safety reasons you can not select temperatures below 5 degrees C or 40 degrees F.
Step 7: Setting the COLD Temperature You Need

Hot Setting
To SELECT the TEMPERATURE you require simply touch the +or -buttons repeatedly until the large
number above these buttons displays the HOT temperature you need.
Quickly touch the SET button to lock it in.
Your SET Temperature will now be displayed on the left side as the TARGET Temperature and the large
numbers in the middle will now display the actual POOL WATER Temperature.
For safety reasons you can not select temperatures above 45 degrees C or 112 degrees F.
Step 8: Setting the HOT Temperature You Need
Not Available on COLD ONLY Machines
Your COMPACT Machine will automatically select if it needs to either CHILL or HEAT to achieve your required
water temperature.
Only “Dual Temp” models with the reverse cycle machinery built in can heat.

Start Automatic Operation
Step 9: Touch the Green START BUTTON
The Start button begins a Fully Automatic Start Up proceedure and controls all normal operations.
A PROGRESS BAR will appear along the bottom of the screen to inform you of the start up progress.
Your machine will first start the water pump. The light bar will PULSE in WHITE to indicate pump is
running and the automatic startup procedure is in progress.
After a few seconds the refrigeration compressor motor will start. After some more seconds the main
air flow fan will start.
If the start has been successful the light bar will turn BLUE if cooling or RED if heating.
In this case everything has tested correctly and the machine is now
chilling (or heating) to the temperature that you set.

Touch the Blue MENU Button to reveal all available options on your machine & choose SETTINGS from
the list.
You can change between Centigrade and Fahrenheit.
You can select the volume of the System Sounds.
You can change the appearance from Dark Mode to Light Mode.
You can set levels of energy saving. Level +5 is for most efficient cooling/heating.

Your iCool Compact has a built in SESSION TIMER.
This allows you to pre set the amount of time athletes should
remain in the pool.
It provides a count down on the screen.
It sounds a warning at the end of the session.
It can automatically re set and begin again for the next athlete.
The Change Over time between athletes can also be pre set.

Water Flow Problems
The most common issue that can prevent successful operation is lack of water flow. The light bar will
turn ORANGE if this happens. It can occur if air is trapped in the water pipes or the pump, or if flow is
restricted in the hoses. The Compact will attempt to clear it automatically several times by surging the
pump to dislodge air. If after several attempts it can not correct the lack of water flow, it will shut the
machine down and warn you that action must be taken to correct the problem.
More information on how to clear the water flow is on page 27 of this manual or via the MENU on the
touch screen.

flow problems

If your Compact can correct the lack of water flow itself it will do so and advise on the screen.
No action is needed, it will continue to operate correctly.
