2. GENERAL DOMESTIC SAFETY ADVICE
Installing smoke alarms is one part of being safe from
the risk offire
in your home. Other steps you should take
include:
• Remove hazards that might start a fire from your home
• Plan an escape route in the event of fire and inform
everyone
in your family
• Perform a check prior
to going to bed of any hazards
(e.g. candles or electrical equipment)
• In the event of fire leave the building as quickly as
possible. Do NOT stop to collect anything. You and your
family should get outside and call the fire service.
• Do not re-enter a burning building.
3. WHERE TO LOCATE SMOKE ALARMS
Smoke alarms should be fitted near each sleeping area,
in the bedroom itself and in the hallway outside. One
smoke alarm gives your home a minimum protection.
Installing more smoke alarms provides better protection.
Smoke alarms should not
be located in kitchens, bath-
rooms or garages, where normal activities may cause
false alarms. Smoke alarms should not be located near
air vents or heating vents,
as these may stop smoke
reaching the alarm.
This product is only suited to single-occupancy dwell-
ings of three floors or fewer. For more information seek
manufacturer's advice.
Install the fire alarm in the middle of the ceiling. If you
cannot install
in the middle of the ceiling place on the
ceiling at least 10cm from the wall, or
on the wall at
least 15cm from the ceiling.
When the wall or ceiling is slanting install at least 1m
below the highest point of the wall or ceiling.
Large rooms over 10m in length may require more than
one smoke alarm.

4. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
a) Turn the alarm body counter-clockwise and take off
the bottom plate.
b) Press the bottom plate onto the wall or ceiling where
it will be installed, mark the holes of the plate with
pencil.
c) Remove the plate and bore two holes with an electric
drill where marked with pencil.
d) Sink the plastic wall plugs into the holes with
hammer.
e) Press the bottom plate onto the wall or ceiling in the
same position
as before, insert the screws through the
holes in the plate and into the wall plugs, tighten the
screws.
f) Connect the battery to the terminals inside the smoke
alarm and insert the battery into the battery box.
g) Attach the alarm body to the bottom plate
by turning
clockwise until it clicks in place.
WARNING:
To avoid injury or malfunction the smoke
alarm should be securely attached to the wall or ceiling
in accordance with the above instructions.

5. HOW TO TEST
The detection and alarm functions of this smoke alarm
can be tested by pressing the button in the middle. After
holding the button for a few seconds the alarm will sound.
If the alarm does not sound please check the battery is
charged and properly connected.
It is not necessary or safe to test the smoke alarm by
creating smoke, such as by using a cigarette. The proper
functioning of the smoke alarm
is tested using the button
as described above.
6. MAINTENANCE
Do not attempt repair of this smoke alarm. Test regularly
according to the instructions above. Clean around and
within the smoke alarm using a vacuum cleaner to
remove dust or insects that could affect the smoke alarm's
correct operation.
If the battery is low the smoke alarm will beep intermittent-
ly. The smoke alarm will not work without adequate
battery power. If you hear the low battery warning please
replace the battery immediately.
7. LIMITATIONS OF SMOKE ALARMS
WARNING: This smoke alarm is not meant to be used in
non-residential buildings. Warehouses, industrial or com-
mercial buildings, and special purpose non-residential
buildings require special fire detection and alarm
systems. This smoke alarm alone is not a suitable substi-
tute for complete fire detection systems for places where
many people live or work, such as hotels or motels. The
same
is true of dormitories, hospitals, nursing homes or
group homes of any kind, even if they were once single
family homes.
A smoke alarm does not work without power, so you
should attend to any low battery warning promptly as well
as testing regularly using the test button.
A smoke alarm only works if smoke reaches it (this may
be prevented by closed doors in your house, incorrect
installation of the smoke alarm or insufficient cleaning of
the smoke alarm)
A smoke alarm is only part of a home fire safety
programme and does not protect against risks such as
gas explosion.
The maximum life of this smoke alarm if well main-
tained
is 10 years, after which it should be replaced.
Warranty
iHudyat Inc. warrants this product against defects in
manufacture and wo rkmanship for a period of 3
years afterpurchase.
If the product proves defective during this warranty
period, iHudyat Inc., atits option, will eitherrepair the
defective product without charge for parts and labo r,
or will provide a replacement in exchange for the
defective product. Batteries are excluded from this
warranty
In order to obtain service under this warranty, the
customer must notify iHudyat Inc. of the defect
before the expiration of the warranty period. The
customer shall be responsible fo r packaging and
shipping the defective product to the address desig-
nated
by iHudyat Inc. The customershall be respon-
sible for paying all duties, taxes, and any other
charges required in order to ship the product.
This warranty shall not apply to any defect, failure or
damage caused by improper use or improper or
inadequate maintenance and care.
This warrantyis given by iHudyat Inc. with respect to
the productin lieu of anyotherwarranties, express or
implied. iHudyat Inc. disclaims any implied warran-
ties of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose and will not be liable for any indirect,
special, incidental, or consequential damages for
breach of this warranty iHudyat Inc. 's responsibility
to repair or replace defective products is the sale and
exclusive remedy provided
to the customer for
breach
of this warranty.
