Instructions
The SL701 isafourchanneltransducerindicatorsystembuiltin
excitation supplies.All fourtransducerinputsaredisplayed on the LCD modulewith
asmall keypad toenablethe varioustare,calibration and decimalpointselect
functions. The basicperformancespecificationsareasfollows:-

Operation
When powerisapplied tothe systemitinitiallydisplays the modeltype 3seconds
whilethe processorinitialisesthe fourchannelcalibration constantstotheirlast
knownvalues.Oncompletion,the systementersthe normalmode and continuously
displays the fourcurrent transducervalues.
The 9availablefunctionsareaccessed bypressing the function keyindicated bya
circulararrowon the keypad.Eachpress ofthe keystepstothe nextfunction until
finallyitreturnstothe normaldisplaymode.Alternatively,withthe exception ofthe
“Calibration Functions”the systemwill automaticallytimeoutafterapproximately10
secondsand returntothe normalmode.The function areaccessed inthe following
order

Level0=Normaldisplaymode
Level1=Select Channel
Level2=Tareselected channel
Level3=Calibrateselected channel
Level4=Set decimalpoint position
Level5=Displaymodeland serialnumber
Level 1=SelectChannel
Thisselectsthe channelnumberthatthe tareand calibrateoperationswill use. This
isindicated on the displaywith3arrowadjacent tothe reading i.e. “<<<”
Level 2=Tarechannel
The displaygivestwooptions,eitherpress ENTkey totarethisinput or
press the CLR keytoremoveanytarevalue.

Level 3=Calibratetransducer
Toactivatethe calibration the selected transduceryou mustfirstenterthe security
code 1793 and press ENT. Pleasenotethat eachchannelhasit owncalibration and
mustbe individuallyset. Connectthe transduceretc.ormilli-voltsourceintothe
correct socket at the rearof the unit.
(a)Select the channelnumberand enterthe pass word. the following will be
displayed :-
CALIBRATIONMODE
Reading =+00002
Press ENTtoZero
(b)Set the zeroinput condition , and when the reading stabilisespress the
"ENT"key. The instrument will nowelectronicallyadjust the zerotoobtain
the correct value.
(c)The displaywill the change to:-
Calibration Mode
Range =_____
Set 5digit forfull
scalethen press ENT
Nowenterthe full range (FULL SCALE)forthe input sensor, then press the
ENTkey. If saythe range required is4500 the enterthisas04500, you must
enterleading zeroes. The validrange is100 to19999.
(d)The displaywill nowshow:-
Calibration Mode
Reading =+00000
Set range conditions
then press ENTkey
Nowsetthe full scalevalue on the channelinputand when ready,press the ENT
key.The instrumentwill nowelectronicallyadjustthe internalgainuntil the required
range hasbeen found
(e)The instrument then exitsthe calibration mode and returnstothe normalstop
condition automaticallystoring the newcalibration information.
(f)Re-check the calibration. Sincethe zeroand span controlsareslightlyinter-
activeit maybe necessarytorepeat the aboveproceduretwoorthree times
tohome-inon the absolutevalues, particularlyif the calibration isgoing tobe
changed considerably.

Naturallytherearemaximumand minimumlimitswhichcan be accommodated. If an
impossiblecondition issetup then the instrument will get asnearaspossibleand the
operatorwill be abletosee the erroron the display.

Level 4=SetDecimal Point
Thisfunction enablesone decimalpointtobe inserted intothe displayed values.
Usethe uand downarrowkeys toselect0or1decimalpoint, then press the ENT
keytoreturntothe normaldisplaymode.
Level 5=Model Numberetc.
Thissimplydisplays the model., serialnumberand revision
