INFORMATION
1.1 Registering Your Infant Car Seat
Fill out the prepaid registration postcard attached to the infant
car seat or base and mail it today. You can nd the model
number and manufacturing information on a label on the
bottom of the infant car seat.
Child restraints could be recalled for safety reasons. You must
register this restraint to be reached in a recall. Send your name,
address, email address if available, and the restraint’s model
number and manufacturing date to:

2.2 Proper Use Warning
The Ingenuity InTrust 35 infant car seat can be used as a car
seat, a carrier, or with a compatible stroller. Each infant car seat
use has a dierent set of safety requirements. Ensure that you
understand the following safety warnings before using the
infant car seat.
Inspect the infant car seat for damage before use. Missing or
damaged parts can prevent the seat from protecting your child.

2.3 Height and Weight Limit Warnings
Your child MUST meet the following requirements:
• WEIGHT: 4–35 lbs. (1.8–15.9 kg)
• You MUST use the newborn insert for children weighing
between 4–11 lbs. (1.8 and 5 kg)
• Remove the newborn insert for children who weigh more
than 11 lbs. (5.0 kg).
• HEIGHT: 32 inches (81.3 cm) or less
• The top of your child’s head must be at least 1 inch (2.5 cm)
below the top of the infant car seat and headrest.
Using this car seat for children outside of this range increases
the risk for serious injury or death.
Do not use the infant car seat with a child that does not
meet the weight and height restrictions listed below.

2.4 General Warnings
• READ, UNDERSTAND, AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION
MANUAL.
• Read all instructions before use of the infant car seat.
• Keep instructions for future use.
• Read your vehicle owner’s manual to ensure safe use of
the infant car seat.
• No infant car seat can guarantee complete protection
from injury in every situation. Correctly using this infant
car seat can reduce your child’s risk of serious injury or
death.
• Failure to properly use this infant car seat increases your
child’s risk of serious injury or death in a sharp turn,
sudden stop, or crash.
• Do not use infant car seat if it is damaged or broken.
• You MUST replace your infant car seat if it has been
involved in a crash. A crash can cause damage that
may not be visible. A damaged infant car seat may
not protect your child.
• NEVER remove any WARNING LABELS from the infant
car seat or base.

• Secure the infant car seat properly in the vehicle.
• Choose a suitable location in your vehicle for the
infant car seat. Some seating positions, such as those
equipped with air bags, may not be safe locations.
• The infant car seat is designed for rear-facing
installation only.
• Only use a vehicle seat belt that is designed to restrain
an infant car seat. Many seat belts that t through the
vehicle belt path are NOT safe to use with infant car
seats. Check your vehicle owner’s manual to ensure
compatibility.
• The vehicle seat belt or LATCH belt MUST be properly
routed to ensure a secure installation.
• Secure your child properly in the infant car seat.
• The infant car seat oers no protection if your child
is not properly secured. DO NOT secure your child
dressed in bulky clothing or wrapped in a blanket.
• ALWAYS use the restraint straps and ensure that they
are snug. A snug strap should not allow any slack. It
lies in a relatively straight line without sagging. It
does not press on the child’s esh or push the child’s
body into an unnatural position. Ensure that restraint
straps are not twisted.

• BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS INFANT CAR SEAT,
READ AND UNDERSTAND:
• The instructions in this manual
• Your vehicle owner’s manual
• DO NOT let others install or use the infant car seat unless
they understand how to use it.
• USING THIS INFANT CAR SEAT AND BASE IMPROPERLY
INCREASES YOUR CHILD’S RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY
OR DEATH.
• NEVER LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED.
• ALWAYS recline the infant car seat properly. An improperly
reclined infant car seat can cause breathing diculties or
make your child uncomfortable.
• DO NOT MODIFY YOUR INFANT CAR SEAT OR BASE.
• NEVER use other manufacturers’accessories, pads, or
products with this infant car seat. Items not tested with
this infant car seat could injure your child.

2.5 Warnings for Use as an Infant Car Seat
• NEVER use the infant car seat if it is damaged, broken,
or missing parts. Call 1-800-230-8190 to nd out if the
damaged or missing parts can be replaced.
• DO NOT use a cut, frayed, or damaged infant car seat
harness restraint, vehicle seat belt, or LATCH belt.
• THE INFANT CAR SEAT CAN BECOME HOT IN THE SUN.
Before putting your child in the infant car seat, touch
metal and plastic parts to test their temperature. Use
caution as hot parts could result in burns.
• SOME SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN ARE AT INCREASED
RISK. Some children, such as preterm babies or those
who have tested positive for positional apnea, may
be at increased risk of breathing or other diculties in
an infant car seat. If your child has special needs, have
your physician or hospital sta evaluate your child and
recommend the proper infant car seat or car bed before
using this product.
• DO NOT PLACE THIS INFANT CAR SEAT IN A VEHICLE
SEATING LOCATION WITH A FRONT AIR BAG. If the
air bag inates, it can cause serious injury or death to
your child. Front passenger side air bags may also be
dangerous. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for more
information. The back seat is the safest place for children
12 and under.

• PLACE THIS INFANT CAR SEAT IN A REAR-FACING
POSITION IN YOUR VEHICLE.
• REAR VEHICLE SEATING POSITIONS ARE SAFER.
According to accident statistics, children are safer when
properly restrained in rear vehicle seating positions than
in front seating positions.
• Your child can be injured in a vehicle even if you are not
in a crash. Sudden braking and sharp turns can injure
your child if the infant car seat is not properly installed or
if your child is not properly secured.
• DO NOT USE THE INFANT CAR SEAT AND BASE AFTER
AN ACCIDENT. An accident can cause damage to the
infant car seat that you may not be able to see. This can
prevent the infant car seat from protecting your child.
Replace the infant car seat and base after any automobile
accident.
• NEVER allow anything to interfere with or to impede the
ability of the car seat to change adjustment positions.
• NEVER LEAVE AN INFANT CAR SEAT OR BASE
UNSECURED IN YOUR VEHICLE. A loose infant car seat or
base may move and injure occupants in a sharp turn, sudden
stop, or crash. Remove an unused infant car seat from the
vehicle, or ensure that it is securely belted. An unsecurred
child restraint system may injure other occupants. If not
using LATCH connectors, ensure that LATCH connectors are
properly stowed in the base of the infant car seat.

• FALL HAZARD: Child’s activity can move carrier. NEVER
place carrier on counter tops, tables, or any other elevated
surface.
• ONLY place carrier on level ground.
• ALWAYS ensure carrier is level on the ground when on
non-elevated surfaces.
• ENSURE that the handle locks into position before
moving the carrier. When lifting the carrier by the handle,
ensure that the handle is in the upright position.
• NEVER place the carrier in the child’s seat compartment
of a shopping cart.

WARNING
• YOUR INFANT CAR SEAT AND BASE HAS AN
EXPIRATION DATE. Stop using the infant car seat after
the expiration (“do not use after”) date printed on the
backside of the infant car seat and base.

• SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Infant carrier can roll over on
soft surfaces and suocate child. NEVER place carrier on
beds, sofas, or other soft surfaces.
• STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children have strangled in
loose or partially buckled harness straps. Fully restrain
the child even when carrier is used outside the vehicle.
• ALWAYS use the restraint straps and ensure that they
are snug. A snug strap should not allow any slack. It lies
in a relatively straight line without sagging. It does not
press on the child’s esh or push the child’s body into an
unnatural position. Ensure that the restraint straps are
not twisted.
• KEEP STRINGS AND CORDS AWAY FROM YOUR CHILD.
Strings and cords can cause strangulation.
• DO NOT place the carrier near window cords, blinds,
or drapes.

2.7 Warning for Use with a Stroller
• USE THE INTRUST 35 INFANT CAR SEAT ONLY WITH
COMPATIBLE INGENUITY TRAVEL SYSTEMS AND
STROLLERS. Refer to the stroller owner’s manual for
stroller warnings and details about how to attach the
infant car seat to the stroller. If you do not have an owner’s
manual, please call toll-free at 1-800-230-8190 (U.S.) or
(55) 5292-8488 (Mexico) to obtain one, or visit our website
at www.ingenuitybaby.com.
• NEVER use this infant car seat with other manufacturers’
strollers. This may result in SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.
