INTRODUCTION
WARNING
The XTIRPA system is part of a personal protection equipment system, a protection sys-
tem against falls, a work and safety positioning system to be used in isolation. .
The user must read, understand and respect the manual’s instructions for each of the
entire XTIRPA system’s components and parts. These instructions must be sent to the
XTIRPA system user. The manufacturer’s instructions must be followed to ensure the ap-
propriate use and maintenance of this product. Any modication or misuse of the XTIRPA
system or of any of its components or parts or any failure to follow the manual’s instruc-
tions can lead to serious injuries or death, for which the manufacturer refuses any warranty
or responsibility, the user, owner and buyer of the XTIRPA system waiving any arising
claim, right and remedy against the manufacturer.
The XTIRPA System was engineered for people needing a personal protection equipment sys-
tem, a protection system against falls, a work and safety positioning system to be used in iso-
lation. The XTIRPA System was engineered to act as a supporting or anchoring structure for
these uses. The XTIRPA System is one of the lightest and most ergonomic systems to use in its
category on the market. The XTIRPA System meets the ANSI, OSHA, CSA, and CE standards.
The equipment was tested in accordance with the applicable Type A EN 795:2012 standard’s
requirements .
IMPORTANT: The buyer must imperatively complete and return the limited warranty’s
record sheet.
Always make this Instruction and Safety manual available to any worker who needs to use the
XTIRPA system. Before each use, the user must read, understand and follow the manufacturer’s
Instruction and Safety manual.
Always keep the informative and safety labels afxed on the XTIRPA system as well as those on
the components and parts clean and readable. Clean or replace if necessary. New labels can
be obtained on demand.
Implement a regular training program on the use of the XTIRPA system for all users, whether new
or professional, as recommended thereafter in this Instruction and Safety manual. Implement a
detailed inspection program for the XTIRPA system and document the results, as recommended
below in this Instruction and Safety manual. Always inspect the XTIRPA system before each use
and at least one a year after that.
The XTIRPA system, its components and parts have labels indicating each and everyone’s max-
imum capacity. Exceeding this maximum capacity can not only provoke damages to the XTIRPA
system, or its components or pieces, but can also lead to serious injury or death, for which the
manufacturer refuses any warranty or responsibility, the user, owner and buyer of the XTIRPA
system waiving any arising claim, right and remedy against the manufacturer.
The universal XTIRPA IN-8017 rescue system, including various types of tripods; IN-2423
(7 FEET) and IN-2429 (9 FEET), is compliant with document number: MU8017-(en-us).

APPLICATION
The XTIRPA system as well as its numerous components and parts (including the gallows,
safety guard, removable adapter, permanent adapter, integrated mast and side entrance trolley)
were engineered to be used as part of a personal protection equipment system, a protection
system against falls, a work and safety positioning system, a staff management system, an
equipment management system and a safeguard system to be used in isolation. The XTIRPA
system was engineered to act as a supporting or anchoring structure for these uses.

RESTRICTIONS
a) CAPACITY: This product’s maximum worload is 360 lbs (164 kg). Per (ANSI, OSHA, CSA).
Per (ANSI, OSHA, CSA). Per CE (EN 795:2012), use a fall arrest system EN 360 and/or
EN 363 or collectiosystem EN-1496
b) The manufacturer conrms that the anchoring devices were subjected to tests in accordance
with the current European standard (EN 795:2012 Type A) and that, unless otherwise indi-
cated, they are suitable for use by one person only with a shock absorber compliant with
EN 355.
c) PRECAUTIONS: Take the necessary precautions to limit the user’s injuries and the XTIRPA
system’s risks of damage. .
d) Using the XTIRPA system in hazardous environments may required additional precautions
to limit the possibility of injuries to the user or damages to the XTIRPA system. Hazards
may include but are not limited to: high temperatures, re, ames, fumes, caustic chemical
products, corrosive environments, high voltage electrical cables, sudden pressure changes,
gas or toxic or explosive substances, water or risks of ooding, risk of wall, ceiling or oor
collapsing, mobile machinery and sharp-edged items.
e) Install and secure all marking and other precaution and safety measures, including with-
out limitation, those informing users, bystanders and vehicle operators circulating near the
XTIRPA system of the presence of the XTIRPA system and workers before starting the
works.
f) Wear any appropriate, certied and recommended safety equipment, including, without lim-
itation, safety helmet, protective glasses, leather gloves, protective clothing, safety boots,
harness compliant with EN 361, ashlight and respiratory system if necessary.
WARNING: The equipment must not be used beyond its limits or for purposes other than
those for which it was originally intended.
WARNING: The equipment must only be used by trained and competent people in order
for this product to be used safely.
g) Always work in team composed of at least two (2) people: 1 agent and 1 worker in a closed
space (the person attached to the cable or lifeline) who must be qualied and trained in us-
ing the XTIRPA system and who must have read and understood the Instruction and Safety
manual before using the XTIRPA system. One person works inside the enclosed space (the
person attached to the cable or lifeline) and the other (the agent) is in charge of handling the
lifeline and rewind, keeping contact with the person located inside and remaining available in
case of emergency. The agent ensures that, at all times, the user who attaches his/her cable
or lifeline to his/her harness compliant with EN 361 is in the right position. The agent also
ensures that the XTIRPA system is rmly in place and that no load imbalance can happen.
IMPORTANT: During the system installation, it is important to ensure its stability.

h) Use only a full body harness conforming to EN 361 as well as certied lifeline cables and
ropes, for any user of the XTIRPA system, having the appropriate specications and de-
signed and recommended for use in conditions of specialized work such as that for which
the XTIRPA system was designed, as indicated in this instruction and safety manual. For the
installation of cables or lifeline on 12kN certied anchor points, see section 6.
IMPORTANT: When used as a PPE, the system must be equipped with an equipment
limited the dynamic forces that were exerted by the user to a maximum of 6 kN (1320 LbF).
i) Plan your work before starting the works. One must have the required and available equip-
ment, procedures and workers to perform the work and the latter must be qualied and
trained in using the XTIRPA system and must have read and understood this Instruction and
Safety manual before using the XTIRPA system.
j) Always keep the informative and safety labels afxed on the XTIRPA system as well as those
on the components and parts clean and readable. Clean or replace if necessary. New labels
can be obtained on demand.
IMPORTANT: If the anchoring device’s marking cannot be accessed after the use, an
additional marking located near the anchoring device is recommended.
WARNING: Any alteration or addition to the equipment cannot be performed without the
manufacturer’s prior written consent and any repair must be performed in accordance with
the manufacturer’s method of operation .
WARNING: It is agreed and accepted that the use of the equipment (system) is limited to
one person only. .
k) Do not exceed 360 lbs. (164 kg) (CSA, ANSI, OSHA) or the system’s maximum working load.
l) Follow all the laws, regulations and standards that rule the work, entrance and exit in a
closed space .
m) Any person who hasn’t read this Instruction and Safety manual, who hasn’t been trained in
using the XTIRPA system and who does not understand all the instructions related to the
operation, security, maintenance, repair, and storage contained in this Instruction and Safety
manual and in any other recommendation provided by the manufacturer or his qualied train-
ers, is not qualied to operate the XTIRPA system and does it at his/her own risks and, doing
so, waives all arising claims, rights and remedy against the manufacturer.
n) Make sure to respect the requirements related to the anchoring device (such as the oor
adapter, wall adapter, recessed wall, etc.) or to the structure chosen to serve as an anchoring
point, and in particular, the minimum required resistance, adequacy and position .
WARNING: Anchoring devices must only be installed by competent people or organization.
o) The maximum force applied by the system on the structure is, a vertical force of 22 kN
(5000 lbf), per CSA, ANSI, OSHA or 12kN per EN 362, EN 795 CE on the anchorage to
which the system is xed.

WARNING: Installation must be checked appropriately, for example, through calculations
or tests.
WARNING: The tness for use of the base materials’, structural anchor’s or fastening
component, if any, must be considered by taking into account the loads registered on the
anchoring device during the dynamic resistance and integrity tests.
p) A safety plan must be established in order to face any emergency that could arise during
work .
WARNING: Any alteration or addition to the equipment cannot be performed without the
manufacturer’s prior written consent and any repair must be performed in accordance with
the manufacturer’s method of operation.
WARNING: It is agreed and accepted that the use of the equipment (system) is limited to
one person only.
WARNING: The XTIRPA system must be placed on a hard and leveled surface. Do not
use the XTIRPA system on a soft ground, such as, but not limited to sand, grass, gravel
and pebbles. If you have questions related to the use, maintenance or adequacy of the
XTIRPA system for your application, please contact the PSP INNOVA INC. manufacturer.
WARNING: To ensure security during the use of the fall arrest system, it is essential to
make sure that there is enough clearance below the user, so as to avoid any injury. If any
fall were to occur, there should be enough clearance to avoid a collision between the
ground and any other obstacle. See the diagram of the air draf calculation in section 8.

IMPORTANT: Enter the product’s ID number indicated on the ID label on the maintenance
and inspection sheet contained in this Instruction and Safety manual.
IMPORTANT: Enter the date of purchase as well as the date of the rst use on the mainte-
nance and inspection sheet contained in this Instruction and Safety manual.
a) The XTIRPA system was engineered to be used as part of a personal protection equipment
system, a protection system against falls, a work and safety positioning system, a staff man-
agement system, an equipment management system and a safeguard system to be used in
isolation. The XTIRPA system was engineered to act as a supporting or anchoring structure
for these uses. The XTIRPA system must only be used with adaptors, anchorages, con-
nectors (EN 362), other components, parts or sub-systems that are certied, approved and
recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: It is imperative to never use this system both with staff and for handling equip-
ment purposes.
b) Please do not alter or intentionally misuse this equipment. Consult Innova when you use
this equipment along with components and sub-systems other than those described in this
manual. The combination of some sub-systems and components may adversely affect the
operation of this equipment.
c) Consult your doctor if you have any doubt about your physical capacity to cushion the impact
of the fall arrest. Age and physical condition seriously affect a worker’s capacity to withstand
falls. Pregnant women and underage people should not use the Innova tripods, except in
case of emergency.
d) A person who hasn’t read the Instruction and Safety manual, who hasn’t been trained to use
the XTIRPA system and who doesn’t understand all the operation and safety instructions,
is not qualied to use the XTIRPA system. A user who wasn’t trained exposes others and
himself/herself to serious injuries or death, for which the manufacturer refuses any warranty
or responsibility, the user, owner and buyer of the XTIRPA system waiving any arising claim,
right and remedy against the manufacturer.
e) Refer to and follow all the ANSI, OSHA, CSA, CE standards as well as other local standards
and regulations. Follow all requirements of your local regulations concerning your applica-
tions.
f) See the other important operating and safety instructions contained below in this Instruction
and Safety manual.

g) Enough information must be given to ensure the compatibility of the equipment’s various
items when they are assembled into a system.
h) The service life of XTIRPA system, and of its components, will be determined following the
conclusions of periodic and monthly verications which determine if the product shall remain
in service or not until the system’s decommissioning.
i) If possible, always use a barricade to delineate and secure the working area.
j) The life of the XTIRPA system, and of its components, will be determined following the con-
clusions of the periodic and monthly checks which determine whether the product will remain
in service or not until the system is decommissioned.
WARNING: A danger may occur during the use of several items in which the safety feature
of one of the items is affected by or interferes with the safety feature of another item.
WARNING: It is essential for the user’s safety, if the product is resold outside the rst des-
tination country, that the reseller provides the user guide, instructions for maintenance, for
periodic exams, as well as instructions for repairs, in the language of the country where
the product is being used. It is also important to provide any required additional information
that is specic to the equipment.
WARNING: Any person suffering from medical conditions that may affect the user’s safety
during the normal use of the equipment and in case of emergency must refrain from using
the system.
k) Consult your doctor if you are in doubt about your physical ability to absorb the shock of the
fall arrest. Age and physical condition seriously affect a worker’s ability to withstand falls.
Pregnant women or minors must not use the Innova tripods, except in cases of emergency.
WARNING: If it was used to stop a fall, it should no longer be used until a qualied person
authorizes its reuse in writing.
WARNING: The user’s safety is directly associated to the efciency of the equipment’s
maintenance and integrity.
l) If possible, always use a barricade to mark out and secure the work area.

MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS/STORAGE
a) Before each use, the user must read, understand and follow the manufacturer’s Instruction
and Safety manual. Ensure that markings are visible at all times.
b) Before each use, inspect carefully the XTIRPA system as well as all its components and
parts. Any faulty part or component could lead to serious injury or even death.
c) The ANSI, OSHA, CSA, and CE standards require a regular inspection program for any en-
trance/recuperation equipment in closed space, as well as keeping the documented results
of these inspections up to date. Use the maintenance and inspection sheets included in this
Instruction and Safety manual to document your results.
d) It is recommended to mark the next or latest inspection date on the anchoring device.
e) Decommission the XTIRPA system if a problem, a non secure or faulty condition is discov-
ered during the inspection. Return to an authorized service center or to the manufacturer
for repair.
f) The replacement of components and parts, as well as any additional service and repair must
be performed by an authorized service center that was approved by the manufacturer or by
the manufacturer himself.
g) Establish a yearly inspection procedure which will be performed by a competent person
(someone who is familiar with, was trained and has read and understood this Instruction and
Safety manual completely) other than the user.
WARNING: A periodic exam must be performed at least once every twelve months.
h) Clean the XTIRPA system periodically with water and a mild detergent. Clean labels when
necessary.
i) Store the XTIRPA system in a dry and clean area, protected from direct sunlight. Avoid
places with fumes, chemical or toxic substances or environments. Do not immerse or leave
in direct contact with water since this could lead to corrosion and rust. Inspect the XTIRPA
system after every prolonged storage period and at least once a month .
j) The XTIRPA system was engineered to last more than 10 years in continuous service. How-
ever the service life of XTIRPA system, and of its components, will be determined following
the conclusions of periodic and monthly verications which determine if the product shall
remain in service or not until the system’s decommissioning.
k) Each component of the XTIRPA system should be stored in an individual bag to facilitate
transport and handling.

WARRANT
The XTIRPA system, offered by the PSP INNOVA INC. manufacturer, is warranted against all
defects in material and labor for a (2) two-year period from the date of purchase, this warranty
does not protect the XTIRPA system’s initial buyer. The manufacturer will promptly repair or
replace all the components or parts that he deemed faulty, the manufacturer reserves the right
to ask for the allegedly faulty part to be return to his factory, before performing any repair or
replacement.
Only the components and parts that were deemed faulty by the manufacturer, at his sole discre-
tion and following any required inspection performed by the manufacturer, will either be repaired
or replaced by the manufacturer, whichever he chooses to perform.
Any claim must be sent in writing to the manufacturer immediately after the owner discovered
the problem and must be accompanied by a copy of the initial buyer’s proof of purchase. The
manufacturer will issue a complain number and will provide specic instructions related to the
complains procedures and the return of the faulty part that will have to be followed, if required by
the manufacturer. The owner will be collaborate with the manufacturer and his representatives
in order to allow for the inspection of every part allegedly faulty.All the incurred transport costs
associated to the return of the faulty components and parts to the manufacturer’s factorymust
be paid by the owner, as the transport fees to associated to the return of the replacement com-
ponents and parts will be covered by the manufacturer.
This warranty does not cover any damage to the equipment resulting from any cause other than
a defect in manufacturing and labor, including without limitation, any damage resulting from any
abuse, lack of maintenance, inadequate handling or storage, intentional damage, vandalism,
accidental damage or damage resulting from an impact or a collision, damage during transport,
damage caused by re, by an explosion, by vapors, chemical, toxic or corrosive substances or
environments, water, normal corrosion and rust, storms, hail and any act of God, war, insurrec-
tion, terrorist act or any other damage beyond the reasonable control of the manufacturer. This
warranty only applies to the initial buyer and is the only applicable warranty of the XTIRPA sys-
tem instead of any other warranty, either express or implied. Without limiting the generality of the
foregoing, the manufacturer will not be responsible for any costs, damages or claims, including
any special, accidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to any loss
of revenue or anticipated prots, business interruption, personal injury, failure to comply with any
obligation, done in good faith or any neglect or default in good faith, any nancial loss or any oth-
er loss, arising from or related in any way to the use or impossibility to use the XTIRPA system,
even in case of a fault, of a wrongdoing (including negligence), of a strict liability, of a breach
or contract or breach of warranty, and even if the manufacturer was informed of the possibility
of such damages. The manufacturer declines any other warranty and condition, either express,
implied or statutory, including, but not limited to, any warranty or condition of merchantability,
tness for particular use or application and for lack of negligence or professional diligence.
IMPORTANT: The buyer must imperatively complete and return the limited warranty’s
record sheet for each product.

OPERATION, INSTALLATION AND USE
OF THE XTIRPA SYSTEM

and respect the manual’s instructions.

Operation and installation of the tripod:
1. Place the tripod on the work surface.
2. Remove the pins from the legs.
3. Adjust the legs to the required working height .

4. Insert the pins into the legs’ holes.
5. Tilt the tripod in an upright position and unfold the legs com-
pletely.
6. Lock the legs into place by inserting the
pins into the holes.
7. Pass the strap through the rollers onto all
the legs.
8. Pass the end part of the strap through
the material as illustrated and pull hard
in order to avoid any loosening between
the tripod’s three legs. Ensure that the
end part is xed and put aside so that it
doesn’t interefer with the work.
9. If the ground is frozen, ip up the pads to engage the soles with
the front points.

10. If the ground is not level, adjust the legs’ length to make sure that
the head is level.
Installation of fall arrest or recovery systems for use with pulleys
1. Install the adaptor to support the winch underneath one of the 2 other legs. Ensure
that all pins are well pushed into the holes.
2. Install the fall arrest or recuperation system onto the leg along
with the pulley by inserting the locking pin.
IMPORTANT: Only two (2) fall arrest or maximum recovery systems can be installed and
used with the pulleys.
3. On the ground, unreel the winch’s cable to obtain a 9-feet free
length for the IN-2423 or a 11-feet free length for the IN-2429.
4. Remove the pin and pass the cable through the pulley.
5. Reinsert the pin and ensure that the pin is well inserted.

Installation of fall arrest or recovery systems for use with eye bolt and suspension pulley
1. Choose the desired location to install the fall arrest or recov-
ery system. There are 2 possible installation positions; outside.
Each of the three (3) legs can receive one, and only one, fall
arrest or recovery system.
2. Or interior. Each of the three (3) legs can receive one, and only
one, fall arrest or recovery system.
IMPORTANT: Each leg can receive one, and only one, fall arrest or recovery system.
3. Install the adaptor to support the winch out-
side the leg in line with the pulley onto the
tripod’s head. Ensure that all pins are well
pushed into the holes.
4. Installthefallarrestorrecuperationsystemonto
the installed adapator by inserting the lock-
ing pin. Use a pulley with a minimum resis-
tance of 45 kN (10000lb) compliant with EN
12278 as well as a snap hook with a mini-
mum resistance of 45 kN (10000lb) compli-
ant with EN 362.
IMPORTANT:Theconnectors(EN362)(hooks,snaphooks,D-rings)mustbeabletowithstand
a minimum load of 5000 lbf (22 kN) for ANSI. CSA, OSHA and 12 kN for EN 795:2012.
IMPORTANT: If you have questions related to the use, maintenance or adequacy of the
XTIRPA system for your application, please contact the PSP INNOVA INC. manufacturer .
WARNING: It should be noted that only the plates, supports and adaptors that were certi-
ed, approved and recommended by the manufacturer can be used.

WARNING: In the case of fall arrest systems and to ensure safety, the anchoring device
or anchorage point must always be placed correctly and the work must be performed in
a way that reduces the risk of falls as well as the height of falls. The anchoring device or
anchorage point must imperatively be placed above the user’s position.
WARNING: With the use of a fall arrest system and to ensure safety, please check the
clearance below the user in the work place before every possible use, so that in case of a
fall, no collision with the ground can occur and no obstacle can be found on the trajectory.
IMPORTANT: If necessary, use a safety guard to secure the work space to avoid any falls.

Only use cables or lifelines that are certied and in perfect functioning state, with the ap-
propriate specications, including the maximum lifting capacities for the XTIRPA system’s
intended use.
WARNING: Any system must immediately be removed from circulation: if the security is
questioned or if it was used to stop a fall. It is imperative to immediately stop using the
system until a competent person authorizes in writing the product’s integrity before it can
be used again.
IMPORTANT: A harness compliant with the EN 361 standard on fall arrest is the only body
harness device that can be used in a fall arrest system.
IMPORTANT: The harness compliant with the EN 361 standard on fall arrest must be
fastened to the system’s cable or lifeline by the fall arrest suspension point of the harness
compliant with EN 361.
WARNING: The instruction and safety manual must be followed to ensure the appropriate
use and maintenance of this product. Any modication or misuse of the XTIRPA system or
of any of its components or parts or any failure to follow the manual’s instructions can lead
to serious injuries or death, for which the manufacturer refuses any warranty or responsi-
bility, the user, owner and buyer of the XTIRPA system waiving any arising claim, right and
remedy against the manufacturer.
