Forinvertertype,thisswitchisusedforafter-salesservice
purposeonly,the user shouldnotpushit.
For fixed-frequency type,thisfunctionisusedtooperatethe unit
temporarilyincaseyou misplacetheremotecontrollerorits
batteriesare exhausted.Two modesincluding FORCED
AUTOandFORCEDCOOLcanbeselected throughthe
TEMPORARYBUTTONon the air-ingrillcontrolboxofthe
indoor unit.Onceyou pushthisbutton,theairconditionerwill
runinsuchorder: FORCED AUTO,FORCEDCOOL,OFF,
and back to FORCED AUTO.

4.HINTSFORECONOMICALOPERATION
Thefollowingshouldbenoticedtoensureaneconomical
operation.
Adjustthe airflow louver properlyand avoiddirectairflow to
roominhabitants.
Adjust theroomtemperatureproperlyforacomfortable
environment.Avoidexcessiveheating or cooling.
Preventdirectsunlightduringcoolingoperationbyusing
curtainsor blinds.
Ventilateoften.Extendeduserequiresspecialattentionto
ventilation.
Keep doorsand windowsclosed.Ifthe doorsand windows
remainopen,airwill flow outofyour roomcausingadecrease
inthe cooling orheating effect.
Never placeobjects nearthe airinletor the airoutlet of the unit.
Itmaycausedeterioration inthe effector stop theoperation.
Setthe timer .
Ifyou don'tplan tousethe unitfor along time,pleasetakethe
batteriesfromthe remotecontroller.When the power ison,
someenergy willbe consumed,even ifthe airconditioner isn't in
operation.Sopleasedisconnectthe power tosaveenergy.
Keep the indoorunitand remotecontrolleratleast1maway
fromtelevisions,radios, stereos,and other similar equipment.
Failing todo somaycausestaticor distorted pictures.
Adirtyairfilter willreducecooling or heating efficiency,please
clean itoncetwoweeks.
5.ADJUSTINGAIRFLOWDIRECTION
Whiletheunitisinoperation,you canadjust theairflowlouver
tochangetheflowdirectionandnaturalizetheroom
temperatureevenly.Thusyou canenjoyitmorecomfortably.
Settheairflowdirection.
Press the SWINGbutton toadjustthe louver tothe desired
position and press thisbutton againtomaintainthe louverat
thisposition.
Adjust theairflow direction automatically.
Press theSWINGbutton,thelouverwill swing automatically.
Whilethisfunction isset,theswing fan ofindoor unitruns;
otherwise,the swingfan doesn'trun.The swingscaleofevery
side is30°.When the airconditioner isn'tinoperation (including
when TIMERONisset),the SWINGbutton will be invalid.

Three-minuteprotection feature
Aprotection feature preventsthe airconditioner frombeing
activated for approximately3minutes
when itrestartsimmediatelyafter operation.
Powerfailure
Power failure during operation will stop the unitcompletely.
Disconnectthe unitwiththe power and then connectthe unit
withthe power again.Pushthe ON/OFFbutton on the remote
controller torestartoperation.
The OPERATIONlampon the indoor unitwill start
flashing when power isrestored.
Torestartoperation,pushthe ON/OFF button on the
remotecontroller.
Lightning oracar wirelesstelephone operatingnearby
maycausethe unittomalfunction.

Cleaning theairfilter
The airfilter canpreventthe dustor other particulatefrom
going inside. Incaseofblockage ofthefilter,theworking
efficiencyofthe airconditioner maygreatlydecrease.
Therefore,the filter must becleaned oncetwo weeksduring
long timeusage.
Iftheairconditionerisinstalled inadustplace,clean the air
filter frequent.
Ifthe accumulated dust istoo heavytobe cleaned,please
replacethe filter withanewone(replaceableairfilter isan
optionalfitting).
Opentheair-ingrill
Pushthe grillswitchestowardsthe middlesimultaneouslyas
indicated in Fig.6-1.Then pull down the air-ingrill.
The controlboxcables,whichare originallyconnected with
the mainbodyelectricalterminatorsmust bepulled off before
doing asindicated above.

When humidityishigh during cooling operationIfthe interior of
anindoorunitisextremelycontaminated,thetemperature
distribution inside aroombecomesuneven.Itisnecessaryto
clean theinterior ofthe indoor unit.Askyour dealer for details
on cleaning the unit.Thisoperation requiresaqualifiedservice
person.
When thesystemischanged overtoheatingoperation after
defrost operationMoisturegeneratedbydefrostbecomes
steamand is exhausted.
Acontinuouslow "shah"sound isheard when the systemisin
cooling operation oratastop.
When the drainpump(optionalaccessories)isinoperation,this
noiseisheard.
A"pishi-pishi"squeaking soundisheardwhen the systemstops
after heatingoperation.
Expansion and contractionofplasticpartscausedby
temperature change makethisnoise.

Acontinuouslow hissing sound isheard when the systemisin
operation.

8.TROUBLESHOOTING

The airconditionerdoesnotstartimmediatelyafterthe ON/OFF
button on the romotecontroller ispressed.
Iftheoperation lamplights,the systemisinnormalcondition.To
preventoverloadingofthecompressormotor,theair
conditioner starts3minutesafterit isturned ON.
Ifthe operation lampand the "PRE-DEFindicator(coolingand
heating type) or fan onlyindicator(coolingonlytype)"light,it
meansyou choosethe heating model,When juststarting,ifthe
compressor hasnotstarted,theindoorunitappears"anticold
wind"protection becauseofits overlow outlettemperature.
Inorder topreventthe indoorevaporator frosting,the system
will change intofan mode automatically,restoretothecooling
mode aftersoon.
When the roomtemperaturedropstothe settemperature,the
compressor goesoffand the indoor unitchangestofan mode;
when thetemperaturerisesup,the compressor startsagain.It
issameinthe heatingmode.
