1.1 PRECAUTIONS, CARE & MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Read and save
these instructions!
Safety may be jeopardized if the equipment is used in a manner not
specified by the manufacturer. Carefully read and keep the following
instructions for future reference.
• Although fuses at the input and outputs of the controller protect its
circuits in case of an overload or overvoltage, we recommend
installing an additional protection device on the controller's supply
circuit.
• The room temperature where the controller is located must always
remain between 32 °F and 104 °F (0 °C to 40 °C). For Indoor use
only !
• To avoid exposing the controller to harmful gases or excessive
humidity, it is preferable to install it in a corridor.
•Do not spray water on the controller! In order to clean the control,
wipe it with a damp cloth.
Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service
panel and lock the switch disconnecting means to prevent power
from being switched accidentally. When the service disconnect-
ing means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning
device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
• The controller should be opened and inspected once a year for
moisture. Proper care will extend the life of the control.

5.6.5.1 Uniformity Bandwidth
The Uniformity Bandwidth is a percentage that is used to determine the
permitted weight offset to consider a bird as a being uniform or not. For
example, if the uniformity bandwidth is set to 10%, all birds weighing more
or less than 10% of the target weight are considered as uniform birds.
Use the arrow keys to select "5. Installation" from the main menu.
Press the right-arrow key. Note that this menu is only available from
the installer mode (see sec. 5.6.1).
Use the arrow keys to select the

5.6.5.2 Uniformity Error
The Uniformity Error is a percentage that is used to determine permitted
weight offset to consider a weight as a bird or not. For example, if the
uniformity error is set to 25%, all the weights that are higher or lower than
25% of the target weight are not be considered as being a valid bird weight
and this weight will not be logged in the controller.
Use the adjustment buttons to increase or decrease the uniform-
ity error percentage. We recommend that you do NOT change
this value.

3.1 MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Open the latch and lift the cover. Remove the black caps located on each of the
four mounting holes. Mount the enclosure on the wall using four screws. Be
sure the electrical knockouts are at the bottom of the enclosure in order to prevent
water from entering the controller. Insert the screws in the mounting holes and
tighten. Fasten the four black caps provided with the controller onto the four
mounting holes. The enclosure must be mounted in a location that will allow the
cover to be completely opened right up against the wall.
3.2 CONNECTIONS
To connect the controller, refer to the wiring diagram enclosed with this user's
manual. Use the electrical knockouts provided at the bottom of the enclosure.
Do not make additional holes in the enclosure, particularly on the side of the
enclosure when using a computer communications module.
All wiring must be done by an authorized electrician and must
comply with applicable codes, laws and regulations. Be sure power
is off before doing any wiring to avoid electrical shocks and
equipment damage.
Do not install rigid conduit into electrical knockouts. Only nylon
cable glands are permitted for cable or wire fastening.
The controller has no power-on switch. An external switch or circuit
breaker shall be included in the building installation to interrupt power
to L and N electric power lines. It shall be in close proximity to the
equipment and within easy reach of the operator. It shall be marked as
the disconnecting device for the equipment.

4.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE FEATHERWEIGHT BIRD
SCALE
The
FEATHERWEIGHT
bird scale is an electronic device which collects
and analyzes weight data from bird scale(s). It is used to supervise the
evolution of birds.
4.2 HOW TO USE THE FEATHERWEIGHT BIRD SCALE
The
FEATHERWEIGHT
bird scale was designed with the user in mind.
Thus, great care has been put into making the user interface as easy to
understand as possible. The following paragraphs explain the way the
parameters are organized and how to adjust them.
There are 2 types of values which may be seen on the display (Fig.1,
Item B): Readings and Parameters.
A Reading is a value which may not be changed by the user.
A Parameter is a value which may be changed by the user.
When a value on the display flashes, this means that it is a
parameter which may be adjusted by the user.
If the value does not flash, it is a reading, or a parameter which
is locked.
4.3 CHANGING PARAMETER VALUES
To change the value of a parameter, simply use the adjustment buttons
(Fig.1, Item D). Pressing the + button will increase the parameter's
value, and pressing the - button will decrease the parameter's value.

4. Std dev.
Standard deviation:
The standard deviation represents how spread apart the weights are. For
instance, a standard deviation of 20g means that most birds (68%) have a
weight within plus or minus 20 grams from the average weight. This also
means that 95% of the birds weigh within plus or minus 40 grams (2 times
the standard deviation) from the average weight. So, the lower the standard
deviation is, the more uniform the flock is.
Select the desired house using the arrow keys. Press the right-arrow
key.

Press the right-arrow
key.
Press the down-arrow key twice to
select the "History" menu. Press the
right-arrow key once again.
Select the "Standard Deviation"
submenu using the arrow keys. Press
