REP 8000
RF Range amplier
Congratulations, you have just purchased a product with Intelbras quality and security.
The 8000 System RF Range Amplier was developed to amplify the coverage signal of the
system as a whole, where up to 4 ampliers can be added to each alarm center, thus extending
the range and communication of the other devices with the alarm center.
1. Care and security
» Follow all instructions in the manual/guide for product installation and handling.
» Perform the installation in environments not susceptible to factors such as rain, fog and
splashes of water.
» Wireless communication technology, when exposed to environments with high power radia-
tion, may suffer interference and have its performance impaired. Example: locations near TV
towers, AM/FM radio stations, amateur radio stations, etc.
» Do not install the amplier for air conditioning equipment or heaters.
» Clean only the external part of the device, using only a damp cloth (do not use chemical
solvents).
» Do not subject the device to excessive pressure or knocks/falls.
» Do not cover the device with adhesives, paper or inks.
» Do not expose directly to sunlight.
» Conrm that the installation site is stable and appropriate.
» Only perform congurations and installations by qualied personnel.
» Perform periodic tests on it to validate weather conditions, battery level and other factors so
that the site supervised by the system is always able to operate properly.

Intelbras wireless systems are tested to the highest standards and bring high reliability, but due to
their use/installation in various scenarios, some considerations must be taken into account:
»
Transmitters/receivers may be disturbed by radio signals, natural interference, location of
operation of the devices, climatic issues and other adversities affecting the transmission
of data regardless of the frequency or technology used, since the means of transmission is
adverse and different from place to place.
»
The receivers/transmitters of the devices have an internal processing time, and only receive
the data necessary for communication between them after this particular time for the system.
»
Wireless devices must be tested regularly to determine if sources of interference exist and
to protect against possible failures.
2
Maximum range distance between the AMT 8000 alarm center and the REP 8000 RF range ampli-
er, and the range between the amplier can extend up to 600 m more according to the environ-
ment and operating conditions.
3. Features
» AMT 8000 system coverage area amplier.
» Protection against malicious signals.
» Encryption in data transmission between devices.
» Ease of installation and handling.
» Extension of the RF signal up to 600 meters beyond the maximum limit for communication
with the center unit, so with the use of the amplier a device can communicate at a dis-
tance of up to 1.2 kilometers with the alarm center in the case of direct line of sight and
without barriers.
» Rechargeable battery.
» 7 Vdc/500 mA source included.
Important: each AMT 8000 alarm center can have up to 4 ampliers operating simulta-
neously, but all in separate operation from each other, so there is no possibility of an amplier
being used to extend the signal to another REP 8000, only in direct use between devices and
alarm center.
4. Registration at the center unit
To register the amplier with the alarm center, press the synchro¬nization key on the center
unit and then press the key on the amplier located on its back, as shown in the following
image, removing the product from the xing bracket. Check if the LED on the front part of the
amplier will ash green, indicating the success of the registration. If the LED ashes orange,
the signal is intermittent or weak and if the LED ashes red, there was some fault and the
process must be repeated. The amplier will be addressed with the center unit according to the
sequence performed, respecting the maximum limit of 4 devices of this type.
Synchronization key of the amplier
To check if the amplier installation location is within the RF signal range, press the synchro-
nization key, and if the LED ashes green the communication is correct, in orange the com-
munication is intermittent/weak and in red there is no commu¬nication with the center unit.
If there is no signal or weak signal, it must be relocated/changed if necessary. After pressing
the synchronization key, the LED indication will ash for 15 minutes, thus giving time to nd
an ideal position where it is ashing only in green color. If there is no time to nd an optimal
position, simply press the synchronization key again.
To register other ampliers/accessories through keyboard commands and further information/
congurations, please refer to the complete manual of the AMT 8000 center.
Note: when registering the REP 8000 amplier to the alarm center using the synchronization
key, perform the practice safely, because the alarm center is energized, so as not to bring risks
to the installer and the equipment.
5. Installation
The REP 8000 amplier has a specic base to be xed on various surfaces, such as walls,
among others. To remove the amplier from the base when it is xed on some surface, slide it
up and to put it back on the standalone base if it is xed or in manual use, follow the base’s
indicative marking.
Fasten the base with screws1 or double-sided tapes1 on the desired surface and then attach
it to the base. Make sure the base is correctly xed to the surface and the amplier is xed to
the base, so that they do not come Off.

Screws, double-sided tape and other accessories are not included with the amplier and must be pur-
chased separately.
6. Registration of devices
For a device to pass through the RF REP 8000 signal amplier’s range extension, it is necessary
that it does not have direct communication with the AMT 8000 alarm center or the commu-
nication is poor with indication ranging from orange to red, otherwise it will communicate
directly with the center without passing through the amplier.
To check the signal strength of the 8000 line devices, press the synchronization key on them,
where the indicator LED will show their status, and if the LED ashes green, the signal is ex-
cellent, in orange the signal is intermittent or weak and in red there is no communication (only
for the XAT 8000 keyboard the status will be shown through a message on its own display).
After validating the need to pass the communication through the amplier, remove the power
from the device to have its communication pass through the amplier and after 3 seconds
replace again. After the device initialization time (varies from 0 to 60 seconds depending on
the type) press its synchronization key again and through the indicator LED or on the display in
case the XAT 8000 is the new communication status that follows the same results above (to
check if the device is passing through the repeater, on the XAT 8000 keyboard press the Menu
key and then navigate to the Wireless Signal option by the Arrow down key and press Enter,
select the desired device and conrm with
Enter
.
The device level will be shown on the display where it will vary from 1 to 10 and the device’s
route will be shown. If the device is in direct communication with the center unit, the position
of the device plus the letter C will be shown, if the device is passing through the repeater,
the position of the device plus the letter R will be shown accompanied by the position of the
repeater. Ex.: R1 repeater 01, R2 repeater 02, R3 repeater 03 and R4 for repeater 04.
7. Operation
The RF range amplier when registered in the alarm center will extend the signal range of the
RF signal, and the amplier needs to be installed in a place where it recei-ves a good signal
from the control panel and also be in the area covered by the other devices where the signal
will be extended.
Avoid an excessive number of physical barriers
between 8000 line devices and RF network
ampliers.
Signal range of AMT 8000 center unit Extended signal range
Avoid installing the amplier in a distant point from
the center unit, otherwise the signal that will be
extended will be compromised or even inoperative.

8. Battery/source
The RF REP 8000 range amplier has an internal 3.7 Vdc rechargeable battery and a capacity
of 3,000 mA.The connector for the battery is located on its board (not accessible if the screws
are not removed). This battery is used in the event of a power outage, the main power of the
amplier coming from the 7 Vdc/500 mA source that comes with the product. To connect the
source to the amplier, connect at the indicated location and plug the wire into one of the
specic openings as shown below.

Battery 3.7 Vdc/3,000 mAh
The RF range amplier has protection against reverse polarity and short circuit in the battery.
The RF Range Amplier also features protection to prevent battery damage in the event of
power grid failure.
If the voltage in the battery reaches 2.9 V it will shut off so as not to damage the battery.
Warning: in case battery replacement is required, please contact our accredited servi-
ce network.
