LiquidCrystalDisplay(LCD)withtouchscreen.The
displayshows statusmessages,keyed-inentries,customer
orproductlists,calculations,and promptsfor responses.
Thetouchscreencanbeusedwithastylus,oryourfinger
tochoosefunctions,recordsignatures,orenterdata.
AdjustContrast
Toadjust thedisplaycontrastlevel,hold downthe[Gold]
keyand press eithertoincreasetodecrease.
Backlight (Models 602 and 603)
YourIndustrialMobileComputerdisplayfeaturesa
backlight.Backlightingprovidesagreatbenefitindark
conditions.Backlightingdoes,however,reducebatterylife,
therefore,turnoff thebacklightwhen notneeded.
BacklightOn/Off
Toturnthebacklighton,hold downthe[Gold]keyand
press thekey.Toturnthebacklightoff,hold down
the[Gold]and press thekeyagain.
Battery
"NOTE:It isimportant tocharge yourIndustrialMobileComputerforatleast
4 hoursbeforeyou useit the first time.
ThisIndustrialMobileComputerusesa 1550 mAhlithium
ionrechargeablebattery.
Ifyour computergoesintoashutdownmodebecause oflow
batterycondition,your computerwill notoperate.Your
computerdoesthisto ensurethat thedataisprotected.

device.Thisdeviceactsasthebootdriveforthesystem.
ThisCompactFlashcardisnotexternallyaccessible.
Additionally,Models602 and603 provideanexternalcard
slot.The externalslotisanexpansionTypeII slot.This
TypeII slotisaccessibleat thetopofthecomputer.Itcan
beusedforanadditionalCompactFlashstoragecard,ora
CompactFlashmodem.Amodemcardmustprovidethe
RJ-11 jack.However,sincepartofthemodem(because of
theRJ-11)extendsbeyondthetopoftheunititbecomes
vulnerabletobreakageifdropped.

Charging theBattery
Charging yourbatterypackcanbedone eitherinadockor
usinganacwall charger connectedtoyour computer.
Figure2-1onpage2-2showsyour computerbeing
connectedtoanac charger.Figure2-2onpage2-3shows
thecomputerandexplainsthePowerStatusconditionsthat
youmightsee duringthechargingprocess.
Normaltimetorechargeyourbatterypackisfourhours.
Whenyourbatteryisfullychargedyour computershould
run about8--10 hours.
