To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its
features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit. This will assure
you years of faithful, trouble free performance and listening pleasure.
Important Notes
•This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
•The appliance shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on appliance.
•Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
oPlaces exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as
electric heaters.
oOn top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
oPlaces blocking ventilation or dusty places.
oPlaces subject to constant vibration.
oHumid or moist places.
•No naked flame sources such as candle lights should be placed on or near the unit.
•Use this appliance in moderate climates.
•Operate turning controls and switches as instructed in the manual.
•Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power cord is properly
installed.
For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the
product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user
serviceable parts inside, refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Safety Information
Some Do’s and Don’ts on the Safe Use of Equipment
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards
but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and
safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment.
DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and inter-
connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before making or changing
connections.
DO consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation or safety of your
equipment.
DON’T remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages.
Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
DON’T allow electrical equipment to be exposed to dripping or splashing, or objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, to be placed on the equipment.
DON’T place hot objects or naked flame sources such as lighted candles or nightlights on, or
close to equipment. High temperatures can melt plastic and lead to fires.
DON’T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the
requirements of traffic safety.
DON’T listen to headphones at high volume as such use can permanently damage your
hearing.
DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specifically stated that it
is designed for unattended operation. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make
sure that your family knows how to do this. Special arrangements may need to be made for
infirm or handicapped people.
DON’T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about if it’s working normally
or if it’s damaged in any way. Switch it off and withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
ESD Remark: In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge just reset the product
(reconnection of power source may be required) to resume normal operation.
NOTE: Do not open any covers and do not repair yourself. Qualified personnel must carry out
repair work.

DAB mode
Scanning DAB stations
1. Unpack the antenna and mount it in the antenna socket on the adapter (see page 2).
Press the STANDBY/ON button on the rear of the adapter or press on remote control
to switch the adapter on.
2. The first time you turn the adapter on or after a reset, the adapter will search for available
radio stations. You can always search for stations by pressing . The adapter will save
the stations in the memory as they appear. This may take a minute.
Note: If the adapter starts up in FM mode, press to enter DAB mode.
3. Once the scanning is completed, the DAB stations will be displayed in alphanumeric
order. The first station in the list will be selected.
Note: If no DAB signal is found in your area, it may be necessary to relocate your adapter. Alternatively, visit
http://www.ukdigitalradio.com/coverage check that DAB coverage in your area.
4. Press or to cycle through the available stations. When the station you wish is
displayed press confirm.

Signal Strength
1. Press and then press . A signal bar shows the strength of the current station.
The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum acceptable signal level.
Note: a. Stations with signal strength below the minimum signal level will not provide a steady stream of audio.
b. if you want to review another station info., please do follow step 2.
2. Press again to exit Signal Strength.

Finding and Adding New Stations
1. Press to perform a ‘Full scan’.
The adapter will now scan all the DAB channels and add any new stations available to the station list.
Manual Tune
You can manually tune in the DAB stations.
1. Press and then press or until the “Manual tune” is displayed.
2. Press to confirm. The display will show the number of the channel and the frequency as follows:
3. Press or to cycle through the channels and press to select the channel displayed.
Note: If there is a multiplex corresponding to this channel and frequency, then the display will show a
tuning meter with the signal strength and the multiplex name after a few seconds.
4. Press again to add the station to the list and exit Manual tune.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control) value
You can set the level of compression of stations to eliminate the differences in dynamic range or sound
level between radio stations.
1. Press and then press or until the DRC value is displayed.
2. Press to confirm and then press or to cycle through the available options.
3. Press to confirm.
Note:
a. Set DRC to 0 means no compression;
b. Set DRC to 1/2 indicates little compression;
c. Set DRC to 1 shows maximum compression.

Change Station Order
1. Press , and then press or until “Station order” is displayed.
2. Press to confirm.
Choose Station Order
The top line of the display shows the current selected Station Order. There are favourite station,
Alphanumeric, Active station and Prune stations available.
1. Press or to cycle through the available options.
2. Press to confirm.
Station Order
Description
Fav station
List the most frequently selected stations first.
Alphanumeric
Display all stations in alphanumeric order.
Active station
List active stations [ones that are currently broadcasting] before inactive ones.
Prune stations
Remove inactive stations from the station list.

Changing the DAB Station Information
Press to change the information displayed.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS)
This is scrolling text information supplied by the DAB station
or by broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the
DAB station or by broadcaster.
Multiplex Name:
This will show the multiplex that is broadcasting the program
you are listening to.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the
broadcaster so will be accurate.
Frequency:
This displays station transmission frequency.
Signal Information:
This shows the digital bit rate and the signal mode.
Signal level:
This displays the signal rate being received from 0 to 100.
a. 100 means no error signal being detected,
b. while 0 means poor signal.
Signal Strength:
Show a signal bar with the strength of the current station.
For detail please refer page 5.
Press to return to the first information in the display.

FM Mode
Getting started
1. Switch the adapter on and press .
2. If this it the first time you listen to FM, the adapter will start at the beginning of the FM frequency
range (87.50MHz). Otherwise, the last FM station you were listening to will be selected.
3. Press or to increase or decrease the frequency by 0.05MHz per step;
4. To perform an automatic search for active station, press or .
5. To search automatically for the next active station repeat step (4).
6. The adapter will not display the change of frequency until the next station is found.
7. After reaching the end of the frequency range, it will start from the beginning again.
8. Press to display the information which provided by the radio station or broadcaster.

Displaying FM Station Information
To change the type of information displayed press
repeatedly. The display will cycle through the
following options:
Radio text
This is scrolling text information supplied by the FM
station. It may comprise information on music titles
or details of the program and is provided by the
broadcaster.
Program Type:
This is a description of the type of program provided
by the FM station and is provided by the
broadcaster.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by
the broadcaster.
Station name
This displays the name of the station you are
currently listening to.
Press again to return to the first display.

Common Operation
Setting Station Presets
Your adapter can store 10 DAB and 10 FM stations.
To store the current station:
1. Press and hold either one of the preset buttons until the display shows the following:
Selecting a Preset station
To select a stored DAB or FM station:
1. Enter corresponding mode by press or .
2. Simply press the relative preset button to load preset station.
Note: do not hold the button down - if you do then the station currently playing will overwrite the one stored in the preset, be
careful!
Volume Control
Adjust the volume to the desired level by pressing or .
