CONGRATULATIONS
Thank you for purchasing the SL7D Rear Seat
Video Headrest System� Before operating
this system, read this manual thoroughly and
retain it for future reference�
The SL7D is a versatile Rear Seat Video
Headrest System which allows users to
watch the same DVD/Video Source on both
monitors simultaneously or individual DVD/
Video Sources on either monitor�
Each SL7D has a 7” LCD monitor with a built-
in DVD player that allows the user to select
from several sources (DVD/USB, HDMI/MHL,
M2 (M1), A/V-IN, and GAME* Source)� The
monitor has a built-in wireless infrared audio
transmitter�
The SL7D Rear Seat Video Headrest System
has easy to use menus that are accessed
using the remote control or the front panel
buttons�
The two full function wireless remote
controls operate either monitor by selecting
the Monitor Select “M1” or “M2” buttons�
• The M1 monitor will only respond to the
remote control when the“M1” button is
pressed�
• The M2 monitor will only respond to the
remote control when the“M2” button is
pressed�
The supplied two-channel wireless Infrared
(IR) headphones have an A-B switch
(CH A-M1 and CH B-M2)�
CAUTIONS
Important Notice
An LCD Panel and/or Video Monitor may be
installed in a motor vehicle and visible to the
driver if the LCD Panel or Video Monitor is
used for vehicle information, system control,
rear or side observation or navigation� If
the LCD Panel or Video Monitor is used for
television reception, video or DVD play, the
LCD Panel or Video Monitor must be installed
so that these features will only function
when the vehicle is in “park” or when the
vehicle’s parking brake is applied�
An LCD Panel or Video Monitor used for
television reception, video or DVD play that
operates when the vehicle is in gear or when
the parking brake is not applied must be
installed to the rear of the driver’s seat where
it will not be visible, directly or indirectly, by
the operator of the motor vehicle�
Safety Precaution
For safety reasons, when changing a video
disc it is recommended that the vehicle not
be in motion, and that you do not allow
children to unfasten safety belts to change a
disc or make any adjustments to the system�
System adjustments can be accomplished
using the remote control, while safety belts
remain fastened� Enjoy your entertainment
system, but remember that the safety of all
passengers remains the number one priority�
Always run the vehicle’s engine while using
the SL7D Rear Seat Video Headrest System�
Using this system without running the
engine can result in battery drainage�

Features of the SL7D Rear Seat Video
Headrest System are as follows:
1� Two factory matched headrests, each with
a 7-inch Color LED backlit LCD screen (800
x 480), 16:9 aspect ratio and built-in DVD
player�
2� HDMI®/MHL® input on the front panel
for media streaming devices such as
Roku Streaming Stick and Chromecast
(Not Included)� This input will also allow
connection of a smartphone (with the
proper adapter) for playing digital content
from your phone to the LCD screen�
3� USB 2�0 input on the front for phone/
tablet charging or for playing digital
content from a USB Flash drive�
NOTE:Referto theHDMI/MHL information
on pages 31 and 32 for tablet/phone
charging capability and supported digital
audio and video le formats.
4� Built-in wireless IR (Infrared) transmitter
for use with the supplied dual-channel
headphones�
5� Two Wireless Infrared (IR) Headphones
equipped with volume control and A/B
switch to select between “M1” and “M2”�
NOTE: The wireless IR headphones must
be used within a line of sight from the
transmitter as infrared transmission, like
visible light, travels only in an unrestricted
line of sight.

6� Remote IR sensors for the wireless remote
controls�
7� Two wireless remote controls: Each user
has their own remote control� To control
the M1 monitor, press the M1 button
on the remote control, to control the
M2 monitor, press the M2 button on the
remote control�
8� Front panel controls: Basic system
operations can be performed using these
controls (Power, Play/Pause, Source Select,
Home, Stop, Eject, Up, Down, Left (Fast
Reverse), Right (Fast Forward), Enter�
9� 100 channel Wireless FM modulator for
listening to audio from the M1 monitor
on the vehicle radio� The modulator is
controlled from the M1 monitor�
11�OSD (On Screen Display) for monitor
status and monitor control�
10�MVGP1 Game Pack (Optional): The
Game Pack consists of fty four 32-
bit games (six dual player games) and
includes 2 Game Controllers (P1 & P2),
see pages 33 and 34 for more information�
When the Game Pack is installed, either
monitor can be designated as “Player 1”�
Selection is based on a “rst come,
rst serve” basis� The second monitor
will automatically become “Player 2”,
see page 34 for more information�

6� If audio playback through the
vehicle radio is preferred, use the FM
transmitter ON/OFF button on the
remote control� Set the vehicle radio to
the channel selected on the M1 monitor�
If interference with a local radio station
occurs, set the FM modulator to one
of the other 100 radio frequencies�
NOTE: The FM modulator function
is only available on monitor M1.
NOTE: To operate the M1 screen, press
M1 on the remote control. To operate
the M2 screen, press M2.
7� To turn OFF either the M1 or M2
monitor, press and hold the Power ON/
OFF button for 5 seconds or turn the
vehicle OFF�
1� Press the POWER ( ) button on each
monitor� The control keys will light up
blue�
2� Insert a DVD, CD, or MP3 disc into the
disc slot located on top of the M1 or M2
monitor (disc label toward user)� Push
down gently on the disc until the player
pulls the disc in (Do not force the disc)�
3� Tilt the monitor to a comfortable
viewing position�
4� The wireless IR headphones have an
”A-B” switch used to receive select the
audio from either the “M1” or “M2”
monitor� When sitting in front of the
M1 screen, use the CH A setting� When
sitting in front of the M2 screen, use the
CH B setting� Turn the volume down
to its lowest setting before putting the
headphones on�
5� When the DVD menu appears, select
the menu item using the UP or DOWN
buttons and press Enter or Play button�

For best disc operation, it is important that
you read this section completely�
DVD Region Coding
The SL7D and the DVD disc are coded by
region� These region codes must match in
order for the DVD to play� If the codes do
not match, the DVD will not play� The SL7D
code is set to region 1� Playback of a DVD
disc from any other region will not work in
the SL7D�
Type of Discs the SL7D Will Play
• DVD-Video: DVD containing video
content�
• CD-DA: CD containing musical or sound
content only�
• CD-Video: CD containing video only�
• CD-R/RW: A disc that containing audio les
(for example, a CD-R with downloaded
MP3 les), MPEG, or JPEG les�
NOTE: The following discs will NOT play in
the SL7D: Optical disc- CD-1, CD-ROM, and
DVD-ROM Mini disc- CDG (audio only, not
graphics), Blu-ray.
Loading and Playing Discs
Before loading a disc, make sure that it is
compatible with the player�
• Press the POWER ( ) button to turn the
system ON�
• Load the disc (label facing the user)
into the disc slot� The disc will load
automatically and begin to play�
NOTE: Some discs may start at the root menu
where Play must be selected to start movie.
Notes on Discs
• Do not touch the disc surface� Handle the
disc by the edge�
• It is important that discs are clean prior to
use�
• If disc is not clean, use a commercially
available cleaning cloth to gently wipe
the disc from the center out� (Figure 1)
NOTE: Do not use solvents such as
benzene, thinner, cleaners, or antistatic
spray intended for analog discs.
• Keep discs protected in their cases or
disc magazines when not in use� Do not
subject discs to heat/high temperature�
Avoid leaving discs in a parked vehicle or
on a dashboard/rear tray�
• Do not use discs that have after-market
paper or plastic labels/stickers attached�
The following malfunctions may result
from using such discs:
• Inability to eject a disc (due to a
label or sticker peeling o and
jamming the eject mechanism)�
• Inability to read audio data correctly
(i�e�, playback skipping, or no
playback) due to heat shrinking of a
sticker or label causing a disc to warp�
• Use only standard, round discs� If you
insert irregular, non-round, shaped discs
they may jam in the DVD player or not play
properly�

This input is used for connecting
devices with HDMI/MHL outputs�
NOTE: Requires a HDMI/MHL enabled
device and/or a special HDMI/MHL
adapter. Contact your HDMI/MHL device
supplier for adapter�
4. Protective Covers
Used to protect and cover the HDMI jack
and USB port when not in use�
5. USB PORT
This port is used to connect a USB device
for playback of content� To view content,
select “USB” as the video source and
insert the USB device� The USB device
will start automatically�
6. 7-inch TFT LCD Display Screen.
7. Disc Slot LED.
WARNINGS
• Do not use any solvents or abrasive
cleaning materials when cleaning the
screen� Use only a lightly dampened lint
free cloth to wipe the screen if it is dirty�
• Lock the front panel in the fully closed
position when not in use� Do not put
pressure on the screen, caution children
to avoid touching, scratching or pulling
down on the screen�

The remote controls come with a battery already installed along with a Pull Tab to prevent
battery discharge� Remove the Pull Tab before using the remote control for the rst time�
(Figure 4)
NOTE: The remote control will only operate the SL7D Rear Seat Video Headrest System. It is not
a universal remote control and will not control other equipment.

1� While holding the remote control, insert thumbnail into the battery door side notch (1) and
index ngernail into battery door upper notch (2) and slide battery holder open� (Figure 5)
2� Install one CR2025 battery (1) into the battery holder (2)� (Figure 6)
NOTE: Make sure that the proper polarity (+ or -) is observed.
3� Slide the battery holder (2) back into the remote control until it locks in place� (Figure 6)

The wireless IR headphone unit requires two AAA batteries�
1� Locate the battery compartment cover on the left earphone�
2� While holding the left earphone in one hand, press down on the battery compartment
cover and slide it UP and OFF in the direction shown� (Figure 7)
3� Insert two AAA batteries (included), carefully following the polarity markings inside the
battery compartment to ensure the batteries are installed properly ( “+”and “-” ends in
the correct positions�)
4� Replace the battery compartment cover� (Figure 7)

• Always keep the remote controls and
headphones clean and dry�
• Always seek qualied personnel to
perform repairs to the system or individual
components of the system� Never attempt
your own repairs.
• Do not drop remote controls and
headphones or expose to strong impacts�
• Do not expose monitors, remote controls
and headphones to direct sunlight for
extended periods of time�
• Always ensure that the batteries are
correctly installed in the remote controls
and headphones with the positive and
negative polarities in the direction as
shown in the battery compartment�
• Use one CR2025 (3V) Lithium battery (160
mAh) in each of the remote controls�
• Use two AAA (1�5v) Alkaline batteries
in each of the headphones� Do not use
dierent types�
• Do not use old batteries in the remote
controls or headphones�
• When the battery fails to function, replace
it immediately�
• Remove the batteries if the remote
controls and headphones are not used for
a month or longer�
• Keep all batteries out of the reach of
children� Should the battery be swallowed,
immediately consult a doctor�
• When disposing of used batteries, please
comply with governmental regulations
or environmental rules that apply in your
area�

settings� The OSD will automatically
disappear if no adjustments are made

This button is used to make system
setup adjustments� See pages 14 - 23 for

8. UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT Arrows
Press these buttons to navigate the

17. FM Modulator Channel Select (C)
(M1 Monitor only)
The SL7D has a 100 channel built-in
wireless FM Modulator�The FM Modulator
can be set from 88�1 MHz to 107�9 MHz in
0�2 MHz steps, i�e� 88�1, 88�3, 88�5, 88�9,
90�1 etc� Pressing the C button will display
the FM Modulator frequency setting
OSD� Use the cursor buttons to select the
frequency� Refer to the SYSTEM SETTINGS
AND ADJUSTMENTS for more details�

18. FMM ON/OFF ( ) (M1 Monitor only)
This button is used to turn the wireless
FM Modulator ON and OFF� (Figure 9)
19. A-B REPEAT
Allows user to repeat the playback from
point A to point B of a DVD� Press the
A-B button once to select a starting point
(A) and again to select a end point (B)�
The DVD will only play the selection from
point A to point B� Press the A-B button
again to cancel selection and return to
normal playback of the DVD� (Figure 9)
20. REPEAT
Press this button to switch the
repeat mode options of CHAPTER,
TITLE, ALL and cancel while playing
DVD-video� Other disc types such
as CD have two repeat modes that
can be selected: TRACK and ALL�
(Figure 9)
21. NEXT ( )
When a disc has more than one Chapter,
Track, or File, you can move to another
Chapter/Track/File� Press this button
briey during play to step forward to the
next Chapter for DVD-video or Track/File
for MP3, CD, etc� (Figure 9)

Press this button to stop playback of disc�

23. SCAN FORWARD Button ( )
Press this button to search in the forward
direction� Press this button repeatedly to
change the search speed from 2, 4, 8, and

24. IRT ON/OFF
This button is used to turn the Infrared
Transmitter ON and OFF for the Wireless
IR Headphones� Pressing M1 then the
IRT ON/OFF button will control the IR
Transmitter for M1� Pressing M2 then
the IRT ON/OFF button will control the IR
Transmitter for M2� (Figure 9)
25. AUDIO (DVD MODE ONLY)
Press this button to display and select
the available AUDIO languages� Each
time you press the button, the audio
language changes� (Figure 9)
NOTE: The audio languages vary from
disc to disc.
26. SUBTITLE (DVD MODE ONLY)
If the DVD playing has dierent
subtitle options press this button to
display and select the desired available
subtitle language� (Figure 9)
NOTE: The subtitle selections vary from
disc to disc.
27. DISC MENU
Press this button to access the
DVD root menu� Press again
to resume playing the movie�
In photo mode, press once for a
thumbnail view� Press and hold 3 to 4
seconds to go to the Directory/ Preview
modes� (Figure 9)
28. ZOOM
Press this button to enlarge the
picture when playing a DVD disc� Press
repeatedly to change the zoom from
Zoom 2, Zoom 3, Zoom 4, Zoom 1/2,
Zoom 1/3, Zoom 1/4 and Zoom OFF�

29. VOLUME DOWN ( - ) or UP ( + )
Not applicable on this model� (Figure 9)
NOTE: These buttons can be used with
the PIX button for adjusting the picture
controls.
30. DVD Mode Select
Press this button to control DVD
functions� (Figure 9)
31. MUTE
Press this button to mute the sound
transmitted to the headphones and the
FM Modulator� “MUTE” will be displayed
on the screen� Pressing the button again
restores sound to the previously set level�

32. EJECT ( )
Press this button to eject the disc from

The System Menu allows the user to personalize the SL7D settings� It is used in the initial setup
to adjust the picture quality and customize adjustable functions� Once the initial settings are
customized, they will remain the same until modied or reset to the factory default settings�
NOTE: System Menu changes are best made without a DVD inserted into the unit.
This section describes how to adjust and set settings using the ve setup features (Figure 10):
1� PICTURE CONTROL

Using the System Menu
Navigating and selecting available settings in the System Menu is accomplished using the
Remote Control buttons (Figure 11) or the Front Panel buttons (Figure 12)� Follow the steps
outlined in this section to select and customize each of the ve adjustable functions (Sub-
Menus) listed above, and refer to the sections that apply�

SYSTEM SUBMENUS
1� Press the SYSTEM MENU button on the remote control (Figure 11) or press the MENU/
SELECT button on the front panel of the system (Figure 12) to display the SYSTEM MENU:
2� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select the desired setting in the
System Menu screen and press the ENTER button select the Sub-Menu screen�
NOTE: Selected Items in the System Menu and the Sub-Menus will be highlighted in green.
3� Use the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT direction buttons to select an item in the Sub-Menu
screen and then press the ENTER button to select�
4� To exit System Menu screen or the Sub-Menu screens at anytime, press the
System MENU button on the remote control� NOTE: The System Menu and all Sub-Menus
will automatically disappear from the main screen within 5 or 6 seconds if no selections
are made.

PICTURE CONTROL
PICTURE CONTROL FROM THE FRONT PANEL (M1 and M2) (Figure 13):
1� Press the MENU/SELECT button on the front panel of the system (Figure 12) to show the
System Menu� (Figure 13)
2� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select Picture Control and press the
ENTER button to enter the sub-menu�
3� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select one of the ve settings
in the Sub-Menu (Brightness, Contrast, Color, Tint and Reset)� Using the
LEFT/RIGHT direction buttons, adjust the level of the picture setting chosen�
NOTE: Levels are set from “0” to “32” for Brightness, Contrast and Color. The levels for Tint
is set from “-16” to “+16”. Tint Control is not available in PAL Mode.
4� After level setting(s) are made, the Picture Control sub-menu will automatically disappear
from main screen within 5 or 6 seconds, or press the Menu/Select button again to return
to the System Menu�
5� Select reset to return the picture setting control back to factory defaults�
PICTURE CONTROL from the Remote Control:
1� Depending on the monitor to be adjusted select “M1” or “M2” by pressing the M1 or M2
button�
2� Press the PIX button to select Picture Control
3� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select one of the ve settings
in the Sub-Menu (Brightness, Contrast, Color, Tint and Reset)� Using the
LEFT/RIGHT direction buttons, adjust the level of the picture setting chosen�
NOTE: Levels are set from “0” to “32” for Brightness, Contrast and Color. The levels for
Tint is set from “-16” to “+16”. Tint Control is not available in PAL Mode.

FM MODULATOR
FM MODULATOR ON/OFF from the Front Panel (Figure 14):
1� Press the MENU/SELECT button on the front panel of the system to display the System
Menu� (Figure 14)
2� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select FM Modulator and press the
ENTER button to enter the sub-menu�
3� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select FM Modulator ON/OFF and press
ENTER button to enter selection�
4� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select FM Modulator ON or OFF and press the
ENTER button to enter selection� When ON is selected, the FM Modulator screen will
display the channel/frequency the system is set to� When OFF is selected, the FM
Modulator screen will display FMM OFF�
5� The FM Modulator sub-menu will automatically disappear from main screen within 5
or 6 seconds, or use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select BACK to return to the
System Menu.

FM CHANNEL
FM CHANNEL from the Front Panel (M1 Only) (Figure 15):
1� Press the MENU/SELECT button on the front panel of the system (Figure 15) to show the
System Menu�
2� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select FM Modulator and press the
MENU/SELECT button to enter the sub-menu� (Figure 15)
3� Use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to select FM Channel and press ENTER button
to enter selection�
4� Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT and RIGHT direction buttons to select the best channel/
frequency from a four page list of one hundred possibilities then press the ENTER button
to enter selection�
5� When a channel/frequency is selected, the FM Modulator screen will display the channel/
frequency�
6� The FM Modulator sub-menu will automatically disappear from main screen within 5 or 6
seconds, or use the UP or DOWN direction buttons to return to the System Menu�
