ToensureasafeandsmoothoperationofyourInWinIW‐MS08SMBServer,itisessentialthatyou

Thesystemisdesignedtooperateinatypicalofficeenvironment:
Thelocationshouldbeclean,dryandfreeofairborneparticles.
Itshouldbeplacedinawell‐ventilatedroom,andawayfromsourcesofheatincludingdirect
sunlightandradiators.
Itshouldbekeptawayfromsourcesofvibrationorphysicalshock.
Thespaceshouldbeaccommodatedwithaproperlygroundedwalloutlet,andwithsufficient
spacetoaccessthepowersupplycords.
Theoperatingenvironmenttemperatureshouldbearound0°Cto40°C(32°Fto104°F).

guideasareferenceandfollowthesafetyinstructions.Theinstructionsinthismanualwillhelp

SystemPowerOn/Off:
ThepowerbuttonDOESNOTtotallyturnoffthesystemACpower.Toremovethepowerofthe
system,youmustunplugtheACpowercordfromtheoutletorthesystem’spowersupplyunits.
Makesurethepowercordisunpluggedbeforeyouopenthechassisoradd/removeany
components.
HazardousConditions,DevicesandCables:
Hazardouselectricalconditionscanbepresenton/inpowersupplyunitsandtheircables.
Disconnectthepowercordandanyotherdevicesattachedtotheserverbeforeopeningthecase.

ElectrostaticDischarge(ESD)andESDProtection:
Inmostcases,ESDmaydamagediskdrives,electronicboardsandotherparts.Werecommend
thatyouconductinstallationonlyatanESDfreespace.Ifnotpossible,performESDprotection
protocolbywearinganti‐staticwriststrapsattachedtothegroundonanyunpaintedmetalsurface
onyourserverduringoperation.
Installingorremovingjumpers:
Ajumperisashortlengthconductorusedtoclose,openorbypasspartofanelectroniccircuit.
JumpersonInWinbackplaneshaveasmalltabontopthatyoucanpickupwithyourfingertips.
Gripthejumpercarefully,andplugthejumpertocoverthejumperpinsonthebackplane.Once
youneedtoremovethejumper,gripthejumperandcarefullypullwithoutsqueezing.
CAUTION
Toavoiddamageandmaintainyoursafety,pleasereadthefollowingtermslistedbelow:
1. Donotpopulateharddrivesandturnonthepoweruntilthesystemhas
stabilized.
Makesureharddrivesandothercomponentsareproperlyconnectedbefore
turningonthesystem.
2. Tightenorloosenallscrewswithascrewdriver.
3. Applythecorrectscrewspackedintheaccessorybox.
4. Foryoursafety,pleasehaveatleasttwopeopleliftandinstalltheunitinits
designatedarea.
5. Beforemountingtheunittothecabinet,makesuretherailisinstalledcorrectly.
6. Wheninstallingandremovinganymoduleorpart,pleaseusethehandles.

Step2:Pullthehandholeonthesidepanelbackwardsandremoveitfromthechassis.

Releasebothsidesclipsofthefanholdertopulloutthefanbracket.
