This manual contains information on the installation and capabilities of your new USB Flex™
Web Cam.
In Sections of the manual where sequential steps are listed, each action is listed with no
identification. Additional text is included, but intended to further explain each of these actions.
A glossary has been added at the end of the manual so you may look up unfamiliar terms.
All IOGEAR® USB Flex™ Web Cams are tested before they are shipped.
The connectors on a USB Cable are designed in such a way as to prevent plugging the cable in
upside down, backwards, or into different types of connectors.

Installing Your IOGEAR GCA210U USB Flex™ Web Cam
1. Turn on your PC.
2. Insert the IOGEAR® USB Flex™ Web Cam Driver CD into an available CD-ROM drive.
3. Run the Setup file from
“CD-ROM Drive Letter:\USB_Drivers\FlexWebCam_Driver_v1”.
The driver will be installed on your computer.
4. Click on
Finish
once the installation has been completed.

Web Cam into an available USB port (or
plug the Flex™ Web Cam into the Flex™
Base; plugging the USB A to B able into the
Base and your computer).
6. Windows will find the new USB device and
will prompt for drivers. Check “Install the
software automatically (Recommended)”
and click on “Next”.

Care & Handling of your USB Flex™ Web Cam
Your IOGEAR® Flex™ Web Cam is a high performance Web Camera mounted on the end of a
USB cable. Please keep out of reach of children; small parts may pose a chocking hazard.
To insure the maximum reliability of the USB Flex™ Web Cam please follow the guidelines listed
below:
• DO NOT open the Web Cam’s body for it will VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
• Keep all cables out of isles and off desktops where they can be hooked and pulled.
• Keep the Web Cam firmly secured in the shipping container when shipping the Web Cam.
• Keep the environment around the Web Cam clean and free of excessive dust and chemicals.
• Use a damp cloth to clean the Web Cam. NEVER put cleansers directly on the Web Cam’s lens.
• Use surge protectors whenever possible.
• DO NOT expose the USB Flex™ Web Cam to extreme temperatures.
• DO NOT expose USB Flex™ Web Cam to direct sun light for extended periods of time.
• DO NOT get the USB Flex™ Web Cam wet.

Trouble Shooting
• Make your new IOGEAR® USB Flex™ Web Cam is the only device hooked into the USB ports.
• Do not use a hub or repeater in connecting your USB Flex™ Web Cam to the computer.
• Check all the cable connections.
• Make sure you have Critical Updates from the Microsoft® Website at
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com; then, click on “Product Updates”, select the latest Critical
Update package for your Windows® OS, and then click “Download”.
Other Issues
At the very least, make sure your computer has all available updates provided by the manufac-
ture of both your hardware and software. Updates can be found at
http://www.versiontracker.comor http://www.download.com.
Upgrade your CPU firmware to the latest revision. Please read all text on the download pages
to determine which firmware update is appropriate for your computer.
