Installation Instructions
NOTE: The illustrations may not match your package contents. For detailed
installation instructions or troubleshooting in ormation, see the User’s Manual on the
installation CD.
1. Start your computer, wait or the operating system to load completely, then insert
the installation CD. I the installation does not start automatically, double click on
the CD icon. The necessary drivers will automatically be installed. Install the
so tware a ter you have connected the drive to the computer.
2. Connect the adapter cable to the drive.
3. Connect the other end o the adapter cable to the back o the computer. I you are
installing a USB 2.0 drive, your computer must have USB 2.0 ports to achieve top
speeds. You will experience slower per ormance i connected to USB 1.1.
NOTE: Always connect the adapter cable to the computer after connecting to the drive.
To disconnect, always remove the adapter cable rom the computer first.
4. Connect the power supply included with your drive to the back o the drive
efore you plug it in to a power outlet. The light on the drive comes on when it
receives power.

98 SE users: I the drive icon does not appear, restart your computer.
5. On the installation CD, click on each o the so tware icons to install the so tware.
