Subject to change without notice
In case of hazardous operation please disconnect and secure the ST3000 against
unintentional operation. This is the case, when the unit
or the power cord is damged
does not function faultlessfree
has been exposed to rain or moisture
has been stored under unsuitable conditions for a longer period of time
has been exposed to straining transportconditions
The ST3000 unit must not be installed in an area which is accessible to children.
Do not pour liquids onto the unit, there is a high potential risk of inflammation or life
endangering electric shock. In case of such an incident, please disconnect the device
from Mains immediately and contact service personal.
Never switch on the unit directly after having been moved from a cold area into a
warm room. The condensation may damage it. Wait until the unit is climatized to
room temperature.
The set up condition must not be extremely hot, cold, humid or dusty. Heat and cold
can impair the functionality of the appliance.
Avoid mechanical stress, vibration high Temperatures and Humidity.
If you have questions do not hesitate to contact our technical helpline.
3. Product Description
The ST3000 is designed to detect leakage in remote heat pipe systems, which is
either suitable for copper wire- and resistance wire systems like IPS-NiCr® and
the Nordic System IPS-Cu®
The loop resistance and the insulation resistance can be monitored in up to four
pipes with low voltage depending on the configuration.
The alarm threshold of the insulation resistance is adjustable in the range from
20 KΩto 2.5MΩ. A potential free contact is provided with the alarm signal. All data
are shown in the LCD display. The measurements are repeated in a cycle of
10min.
Each measurement can be done manually at any time.
For further measurements ( i.e leakage detection measurements additional
external connectors are provided, linked to the sensor wires)
A multifunction push button allows easy operation of all functions.
4. Connecting
Installation and servicing only by qualified personnel.
Disconnect from the mains before opening the enclosure!
Depending on the type of ST3000 the units are equipped with max. 4 channels to
monitor the pipes plus an alarm contact.
The internal pipe terminals are linked to the external connectors (1A, 1B, 2A, 2B,
Rohr etc).
The ST3000 must not be used for measurements in categories CAT II, III and IV.
Each pipe connection is equipped with 3 terminals for the 2 sensor wires,
A for CuSn (tinned) respectively green wire, B for Cu (blank) respectively. red
wire- as well as the electrical connection to the medium pipe - R for Ground.
The connectivity between the pipe terminals (R) cable 1 and cable 2 will be
checked by a ground test to the medium pipe.
